"If you’ve been around the gaming world at all for the last few months, you have probably noticed a steady increase in the number of free-to-play titles that are available. Many game development companies are focusing on free-to-play models, and some games are even going free-to-play after having been a paid service."
"The extremely popular third-person shooter from Electronic Arts is getting more free content to celebrate the game’s two year anniversary. Battlefield Heroes hit seven million users this March, with figures reaching as high as eight million recorded recently. The game is becoming more popular by the day, and hopes to continue this trend towards the end of 2011."
Electronic Art's is updating the cartoon shooter Battlefield Heroes. Several new costumes and different content will be available. GamerGaia has the news.
After a remarkable four years, Ben Cousins; former Global General Manager of Easy Studios has finally said good bye to what he deems "his babies". This was first heard through his twitter, with random message of "@bfplay4free launches this week and it's time for me to leave EA. Very proud of what I've achieved in the last 4 years."
Whenever the name Ben Cousins is muttered, it is usually one in contempt but that is no surprise for his loud voiced and headstrong opinions about the western F...

Yes, it's Youtube's birthday today and they have turned 5. Strange that a game like Battlefield Heroes would be celebrating a website's birthday but Youtube been a community favourite to share their highs and lows, their victories and losses and more importantly their incredible support for the whacky cartoon shooter that just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
So what are the Heroes team doing? They have a fun event that will be held until Friday to create a video relating to Battlefield He...
Battlefield Heroes loves stimulating its community by adding contents according to the news. This time, DICE has decided to give us a new map, a new mode and new items among which: Jetpacks!
Fileplanet have teamed up with Battlefield Heroes to bring the fun and chaos of the game, not only to their community but also to the rest of the world by hosting BFH's videos of the week!
Video of the week is a weekly nomination process where video makers or players can nominate a video for the Community Team to choose one to be picked and displayed on the Homepage for a whole week.
Starting from closed beta with video of the day, which eventually evolved into a weekly occurance to mak...
Something funny for Battlefield fans: Bad Company 2's Haggard and Kirilenko have just shown up in the cartoonified Heroes.
Sunday 11th October 2009, official world zombie day, a day where people come together and celebrate their love for such a fictitious creation. Well, DICE weren't shy to with their love for the zombies as the community team crafted a fun four hour event where it would literally be Zombies vs Skeletons
The whole event simply took place a week after the rental servers went live, giving the three members of the community team (Goodman, U-238 and ShadeShooter) their own servers to do such an ev...
That's right, after so many months of waiting, DICE have finally given the go ahead to give us our own servers. Who knows what the hold up was but this is yet another step in the right direction for DICE and Heroes.
I personally have been playing the game for a year, right from closed beta and till the present day. There have been some ups and downs but but DICE have always been able to squash the downs and raise the ups.
Not only are they celebrating the breaking of the 2 million user ...
"Electronic Arts Inc. today announced that Battlefield Heroes, the hit Play4Free Third-Person Shooter has recruited two million registered players. With endless hours of signature Battlefield sandbox action, Battlefield Heroes is EA’s latest web-based free to download, free-to-play title which generates revenue through advertising and in-game item sales. To celebrate this milestone, on September 30th, EA will release a free ‘Heroes of the Fall’ update for the game, including a brand new map."
IGN have gotten their hands on some vital statistics about Battlefield Heroes. In fact you won't believe your eyes at how a free to play third person cartoon shooter has done so well and it's still in Open Beta!
IGN uncover the answers to what people have been wanting to know for awhile, such as how many nationals are there to royals? Which class is played the most? An even how much the average buyer spends within the game.
Many people laughed at EA and DICE when they announced such an ...
"For the uninitiated, Battlefield Heroes is a sandbox-style multiplayer game that comes with avatar customization. Of course, like other multiplayer shooters, changing your avatar’s appearance has no bearing on gameplay. Customization items are available for Valor Points (points earned by playing the game) or with Battlefunds (a fictional currency bought via credit card or PayPal) so players can update or change their hero’s look at any time."
"Looking to pay tribute to Michael Jackson’s passing? Well then you should probably pay MONEY to Electronic Arts.
“Battlefield Heroes” players will be able to pony up 420 Battlefunds (about $3 in real money) for each Michael Jackson-themed costume. The good guys have access to the white suit from the “Smooth Criminal” music video, while the bad guys get the black leather getup from “Bad.”
I don’t take issue with the concept, an in-game memorial of MJ, but to sell them? Sure, Battlefield ..."
"The Battlefield Heroes Beta has been amazing since its conception, and if you do not believe there are thousands of addicted and satisfied players who will tell you the exact same thing. I joined the beta sometime ago, but haven’t had time to play it recently. However, it wouldn’t have made a difference this week, beings the beta has been down for a healthy portion of the week due to a massive update on the game.
For those of you who are still interesting in trying out DICE’s hilarious and..."
Battlefield Heroes Update, today BFH is showing us some more released information on items which can be taken into the battle. Including we are told that an new map is on the way as well.
"GOONL!NE has uncovered evidence that could see Battlefield Heroes coming to PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360. On EA’s press site, the game is listed for both the PS3 and 360 as well as the already announced PC version, which was thought to have been the only version confirmed."
"The game home menu allows you to log in as one of four of your created heroes, and from the home menu, you can access your equipment menu, shop menu, or tweak around the options. Earning points in battle will level you up, but will also allow you to purchase items from the game’s virtual store, such as weapons and custom clothing. However, one thing that has been brought into the light is that there are two currencies to BFH; the first is the player-earned experience (Valor) and the second is..."
Yes the title is correct, no it isn't your eyes playing tricks or a very late April's Fool prank. This is for real and James Salt, senior producer of Battlefield Heroes proves it in this video.
Alright it is a year late than what they had suggested for their guideline (Summer 2008) but the wait is close to being over for those without Beta Keys and even better, it means those that bought servers for the game will be able to use them.
Wednesday 25th March 2009, the day Battlefield Heroes was to get a new update to add new features to the game. DICE stated it would be a 2-4 hours job and that soon escalated to 8 hours but what does that have to do with fans showing their loyalty?
Well that comes down to everyone seeing the twitter update of "Beta is back online". Now remember my past reports on BFH gaining over 100k signups and the fact of old beta testers being in the thousands also coming back for second phase? Well DI...
Yup you heard correctly but before you jump in with question, allow me to explain what is exactly being offered here.
As we all know, Battlefield Heroes is a free to play game, this means there is no retail price and you can download and play with no hassle. However there are some optional services which you can pay for but unlike in MMO's that grant you to buy an uber weapon that smites anything for real life money, DICE are basically offering servers for those that want privacy, to play ...
It's so strange to see Battlefield Heroes and Grand Theft Auto tied to one article but I'm afraid its true, 18+ rated games like the GTA series aren't the only ones to be victimised and scrutinised under the latest epidemic that seems to be sweeping the world.
Battlefield Heroes is a 12+ rated free to play game. Not even released yet and still under closed beta status yet already within the forums, problems are occuring, well see for yourself in the quote below which was taken directly fro...
We've gotten a hold of a beta key for Battlefield Heroes thanks to Neoseeker member ShadowJ.I know you're all dying to play it and all you need to do is send me a PM with the title "Battlefield Heroes beta key giveaway". You can pm me anything you like but only one entry per person, alternate accounts do not count. Sending in more than one entry will disqualify you.
A random winner will be picked on Friday, March 6th

Finally the second beta phase of Battlefield Heroes has a date and more to the point, tomorrow!
For those that know of my report progress of Battlefield Heroes then you will know of the Closed Beta sign-up I posted a few weeks back. Overlooking the comments section, I could only assume that some Neoseekians have signed up to the cause and are probably wondering if I know about beta keys. Unfortunately I do not but what I do know is that if you aren't successful with the general selection o...
Still with no official release date and the initial guideline of "summer 2008" being in the past, it seems there are still fans wanting in on this free to play version of the franchise.
Currently the official BFH forums are being filled with predictions from players ranging from the second beta phase being "ready" for launch as soon as next week to the more outrageous prediction of BFH being forgotten when the freshly announced Battefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 hit the shelves...
Yes that is right people, starting from today you can register for a place within the next beta phase of the long awaited free 2 play MMO. Simply check the source and follow the instructions given, maybe even pop your head into the forums if you don't mind wading through some of the spam to get to the good topics.
For those that aren't familiar with Heroes, it is a third person shooter that is aimed at the casual gamer while also aimed at the pro gamers. If you will a friendly mix and matc...
"Finally it's about time" I hear you all say. Indeed it is time we got some news about Battlefield Heroes and who else to give that update than your very own Battefield Heroes Beta Tester, me. Now before I begin, as a beta tester I signed an agreement called the NDA Violation, this agreement restricts me from telling the public anything that I have witnessed within the beta iteself.
At most I can tell you that I am one of the many avid testers and that I enjoyed the beta, in fact so much I...
It seems like Eurogamer has the scoop on the latest news on EA's "free" installment of the Battlefield series, Heroes. They state that EA is starting beta testing as of May 6th. All sign ups will be processed over at the official site. The full game has an impending date for Q3 of 2008.
