Xbox Live Games on Demand goes with the war strategy theme this week as Tom Clancy's EndWar and Battlestations: Pacific are added to the service. Take your pick between World War II or a near-future World War III.
"The Games for Windows – LIVE client is available to download now, and uses the same user-orientated properties as the Xbox 360. Players will have a unique GamerTag which operates on both Xbox 360 and Games for Windows systems, linked to a Windows LIVE ID account that also grants features such as a free Hotmail based e-mail account and soon personalised search engine results through the recently launched Bing, and can maintain a consolidated GamerScore of the Achievements earned through playin..."
"It was announced last week that the PC videogames client from Microsoft, Games for Windows – LIVE, would be receiving a Games on Demand service similar to that launched earlier this year in Xbox 360 prior to the year’s end. And now, Electronic Theatre can bring you the full details on the launch line-up, and a freebie offered to early birds."
"The Carrier Battles Map Pack gives gamers four new maps, playable across all five multiplayer modes. Take part in a clash of carriers at Midway, do battle at dawn in the mist of the Philippine Islands, experience the fury of Kamikaze attacks in the rocky islands of the Leyte Gulf and take control of your forces amongst the mountain peaks and glacial waters of the icy Aleutian Islands."
"It’s immediately obvious that many of the issues delivered with the first title have been addressed with Battlestations: Pacific. The Single-Player Campaign offers two variants – the US Campaign picking-up where the first title left-off, and the Japanese Campaign offering the chance to live-out a “historically possible” timeline in which you begin by taking Pearl Harbour, moving through Asia and eventually across the Pacific Rim – more than one hundred units are available to command and the m..."
"Battlestations: Pacific offers one of the most authentic gameplay experiences with over 100 air, sea and undersea units to master: fighters, bombers, kamikaze planes and subs, aircraft carriers, destroyers, submarines, battleships and more. Each unit is recreated with incredible visual detail and comes complete with a full damage model that brings the battle to life. AA fire can rip planes to pieces, with wings and tails sheering off while carefully placed bombs or shell fire can pierce the h..."

"The demo includes one action-packed mission from the US campaign, Divine Winds of Leyte, throwing the player into the thick of the action with a Kamikaze attack on a US carrier fleet. Also included are two multiplayer modes, Island Capture and Siege, each available to play offline in Skirmish Mode, a new gameplay mode which allows players to tackle any of the multi-player maps in single-player against an AI-controlled enemy."
"We all love a good looking woman, well, a huge majority of us do.
And one of the most iconish emblems of the Second World War were the lovely ladies that adorned the fuselages of the many bombers, fighters and almost anything that flew or floated in that period.
Mustangs, Hellcats, Spitfires, Float planes, PT Boats and Trainers.Even the odd torpedo tube or gun emplacement on a Battleship here and there copped a decent painting on its turrets, you name it.
If it was heading to war, th..."
A brand new trailer for Battlestations: Pacific has been released by Eidos. This new trailer is titled "Take Control."
Electronic Theatre reports on the launch of a brand new community-focused website for Eidos' Battlestation's franchise, specifcally highlighting their forthcoming Battlestations: Pacific release on Xbox360 and PC.
Eidos Interactive has released the first (in most likely a series of) video developer's diaries for the next game in their action-strategy 'BattleStations' series. The game, dubbed 'BattleStations: Pacific', will allow players to control both individual units as well as large fleets of warships and aircraft in the battles between the United States and Japan during World War II.
