"Naturally, the next logical step is to chase after his giant frog by driving the tank, risking his life against giant mutants and other inexplicable gray things. Oh, and he kills several other frogs in the process. Makes total sense. What a bastard."
"Video Games have existed just a bit longer than I’ve been alive to play them (a sentence that will surely date me in the eyes of my audience). But since their inception into the world and over the expanse of time into our popular culture, there have been franchises that have received multiple iterations and have ‘changed with the times’, so to speak. Most notably would be Mario, Nintendo’s lovable plumber who has rescued Princess Peach on more occasions than I care to remember. Over the years..."
Ever thought about a game series and how they should've just quit before it became embarrassing? Well here's an article that points out many games that should've just stayed down and out the first time rather than attempting a comeback. From horror to fighting, fighting to erotic Japanese games, this list comprises a diverse set of games that should never have been continued for the shelves.
"A few weeks back I received the best Final Fantasy news I had heard in a long time. No, it wasn't some new announcement about Final Fantasy XIII. Truth be told, I'm a bit apathetic about Square Enix's latest state of the art opus. My bit of excitement came from the discovery that Final Fantasy VIII would be hitting the North American PlayStation store.
Suffice it to say that I downloaded the game the day it was released, and have since been enjoying it on my PSP, a necessity considering my..."

For those not in the know, everyday for the twelve days of Christmas we have been taking a look the very best that 2009 had to offer, one month at a time and suggesting what you should be looking out for in those January bargain ..."
Capcom intends to become a major international publisher by the end of the next fiscal year. Given all the titles that are being pushed back, they certainly have the resources to do so. But here's what their three-pronged strategy for success looks like.
"While some people cling to the belief that you could wring some enjoyment out of Bionic Commando, like blood from a cold, heavy stone, most people ignored it. Didn't buy it. Why was that, Capcom?
As part of a Q&A from the company's recent fiscal earnings conference call, Capcom President Haruhiro Tsujimoto gave his two cents.
"Our analysis indicates that the game elements were not well received by customers", he said, "and that our management of overseas subcontractors wasn't thorough e..."
"Sumthing Else Music Works, Inc., through its licensing relationship with Capcom, has released the Bionic Commando Original Soundtrack featuring the musical score from the Current-Generation sequel to the classic 1988 Nintendo Entertainment System videogame. The soundtrack album is available now to retail through Sumthing Else Music Works (www.sumthing.com) and is available for digital download on Sumthing Digital (www.sumthingdigital.com) and iTunes."
At long last, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 sees re-release this week on Xbox LIVE Arcade -- get your fight sticks ready, boys and girls.
Aside from that, Capcom delivers more with the ad-ridden Bionic Commando on PC, the very unique and atmospheric adventure Memento Mori (means "Remember you shall die"), SNK and Ignition brings us the twelfth iteration in the King of Fighters series, and Nintendo brings us some sports...thing (hey, I never said these lists weren't biased).
Until next time!
"Although the plot is a tad convoluted, it’s still interesting and the game features convincing characters. Nathan Spencer, the Bionic Commando, is voiced by Mike Patton of Faith No More fame. Patton does a fantastic job bringing Spencer to life and thanks to his performance, the character is both believable and very likeable. The voice acting in general is of high caliber and because numerous titles have been plagued by appalling voiceovers lately, it’s refreshing to see a game shine in this ..."
"After storming Current-Generation consoles earlier this year Nathan Spencer is ready for another tour of duty, this time on PC as Bionic Commando is set to arrive throughout European territories today, July 17th."
Here is yet another one og Gametrailer's infamous graphics comparison videos. This time it's a comparison between the 360 and PC versions of Bionic Commando...
""Nearly 20 years after the release of the original Bionic Commando, Super Joe has returned to grace our modern consoles with a new installment to the franchise, simply titled Bionic Commando. Sorry, arcade purists - he won’t be found in the limelight here. You’ll be taking up the mantle of Nathan “Rad” Spencer, star of the hit NES title, instead. Were you excited? In the spirit of taking classic franchises, slapping an ill-conceived sequel onto them, then marketing them as XTREME and mindblow..."
"You are tasked with helping him investigate what happened and why in “Ascension City” after a mass explosion that was caused by a Terrorist Group know only as “Bio-Reign”, occurred and destroyed the majority of the city and its population."
This week Yahtzee takes a look at the new release of Bionic Commando, expect typical Yahtzee humour and a gaggle of laughs. If you've played the game before, then you'll probably know what to expect in terms of criticism.
"Hey lvlone users we would like to thank everyone whose been visiting the site and commenting on our posts. We here at lvlone have been working hard on getting new content on the website and we are proud to announce our first podcast ever."
A nice few goodies for you to choose from this week -- Bionic Commando is looking pretty great, Terminator Salvation shows some promise (though taking out T-800s with shotguns and such doesn't seem very realistic or fun to us), UFC fans get the latest in the form of Undisputed, Nintendo launches Punch-Out!!, EA tries out the Wii excercise thing, and DS owners get some cool adventures.
"The latest Game Informer review scores are as follows:

"Today, however, Electronic Theatre was lucky enough to receive a launch trailer for the forthcoming Bionic Commando. That’s right, the “launch trailer”. Not on the day of launch, or a couple of days prior, but in-fact a whole week."
Well, it's up there either way.
Capcom's new commercial for Bionic Commando just arrived and we had to share. Check it out!
"April was a slow month for big blockbuster titles. Fortunately, May is looking like it will pick up the slab with several promising games. Here are the top five new video games to look forward to this month."
"Capcom has today announced that three of its blockbuster hit console games of 2009 will be coming to the PC beginning this summer. Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 will all be coming to the PC."
A regular old Capcom extravaganza is what we have going on over on Neoseeker, in light of their CAPTIVATE 09 press event yesterday.
Needless to say, if you are a fan of the company's stuff, we've got heaps of new content to check out -- trailers, news (Resident Evil remake remake, oh yeah), screenshots...nummers.

I am a big fan of the original Bionic Commando (still have my NES cart), that along with Strider represent two of my favorite 80s Capcom games. I picked up Bionic Commando Reloaded, and was surprised the gameplay (despite a face lift) held up, and I must admit, it made me less fearful of what they may do with the true "next gen" version of BC. According to Chris Plante (we rcvd the preview build last week) things have translated far better than expected...
Now to get my Strider Reloaded an...
"Capcom has announced that the demo for Bionic Commando will launch on XboxLIVE! in the coming weeks. Focusing on Bionic Commando's exhilarating online multiplayer mode, the demo will feature “Vertigo,” one of the game's 16 multiplayer maps where 8 players will go head-to-head in an all out Deathmatch."
"With only around a month to go til release, Capcom have released the first in what is suggested to be a series of “Arm Lab Report” videos to brighten up your Easter. Drop that chocolate and take a look below."
"Capcom have confirmed that Bionic Commando will swing into retail across PAL territories on May 22nd for both Xbox360 and PLAYSTATION3 following the announcement of a May 19th release in the US."
"Reloaded for the latest generation of hardware, Bionic Commando sees the return of the ultimate fusion of man and machine who became a firm favourite with gamers around the world some 20 years ago with the release of the 8-bit original on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Bionic Commando features Nathan Spencer (voiced by former lead singer of Faith No More, Mike Patton), as a government operative who, after distinguishing himself in a fierce conflict against the Imperials, is betrayed and f..."
Videogame company Capcom have a great line up of titles this year, Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV just the tip of the iceberg. But whether these games will even come to Australia and New Zealand is now up in the air. Red Ant,Capcom's third party distributor have given signs that they may have had a falling out with their partner, and with some games just weeks away, shipping them in time could be tough.
Electronic Theatre delivers confirmation of Capcom's first-quarter line-up for 2009, including finalised release dates for Street Fighter IV and Dead Rising Chop Till You Drop.
"This is being hailed as the first game to feature multiplayer zip-lining and grapple-swing kicks. Now that's not a bad thing to be known for, really. Bionic Commando is actually trying to do something a little different in the third-person action genre. And being that we're all about innovation here at Blend Games, we thought it would be nice to share some new multiplayer screenshots of that zip-lining we were talking about."
"The full Capcom Q1 2009 release schedule reads:

The official Bionic Commando IGN Blog has been updated with tons of information. So far, the rankings for Bionic Commando Rearmed have turned out pretty good. The PC version has a 91%, the PS3 is in second with a 88.1%, and the 360 is last with 86.2%. It's the highest Capcom has ever scored on a digital game.
In addition, the forums for the official BC website have opened. Ben Judd, the producer, says that they "have a great community" and that in terms of digital sales, the game is a "fri...
A member of Capcom decided to blog over at IGN today and he revealed some interesting things related to Bionic Commando. First of all, the picture they used to make a Bionic Commando t-shirt for Comic-Con (which you can see on the right) may be given out if enough people request for it. Even more, the official Bionic Commando forums are going to be coming out soon, definitely before the next Field Report, which is also blogged on IGN. Finally, a new Bionic Commando preview for you to check ou...
There were almost no details let out about Bionic Commando's multiplayer mode in the Captivate 08 event except to expect capture the flag and some other multiplayer modes. Here is a video of the multiplayer, it doesn't reveal a whole lot, but it's better than nothing.
"The multiplayer in BC is set prior to the events of the single-player campaign. Gamers play as test subjects giving a revolutionary new grappling weapon a go in various combat arenas. Not only does this give some context to the BC single-player storyline, but it also allows developer GRIN to alter some of the game mechanics to fit multiplayer. See, this way they can say, "Hey, this is what the prototype was like." According to GRIN, the single-player gameplay just didn't quite fit multiplayer..."
