Capcom intends to become a major international publisher by the end of the next fiscal year. Given all the titles that are being pushed back, they certainly have the resources to do so. But here's what their three-pronged strategy for success looks like.
"While some people cling to the belief that you could wring some enjoyment out of Bionic Commando, like blood from a cold, heavy stone, most people ignored it. Didn't buy it. Why was that, Capcom?
As part of a Q&A from the company's recent fiscal earnings conference call, Capcom President Haruhiro Tsujimoto gave his two cents.
"Our analysis indicates that the game elements were not well received by customers", he said, "and that our management of overseas subcontractors wasn't thorough e..."
At long last, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 sees re-release this week on Xbox LIVE Arcade -- get your fight sticks ready, boys and girls.
Aside from that, Capcom delivers more with the ad-ridden Bionic Commando on PC, the very unique and atmospheric adventure Memento Mori (means "Remember you shall die"), SNK and Ignition brings us the twelfth iteration in the King of Fighters series, and Nintendo brings us some sports...thing (hey, I never said these lists weren't biased).
Until next time!
"After storming Current-Generation consoles earlier this year Nathan Spencer is ready for another tour of duty, this time on PC as Bionic Commando is set to arrive throughout European territories today, July 17th."
A nice few goodies for you to choose from this week -- Bionic Commando is looking pretty great, Terminator Salvation shows some promise (though taking out T-800s with shotguns and such doesn't seem very realistic or fun to us), UFC fans get the latest in the form of Undisputed, Nintendo launches Punch-Out!!, EA tries out the Wii excercise thing, and DS owners get some cool adventures.
"Capcom has today announced that three of its blockbuster hit console games of 2009 will be coming to the PC beginning this summer. Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 will all be coming to the PC."
A regular old Capcom extravaganza is what we have going on over on Neoseeker, in light of their CAPTIVATE 09 press event yesterday.
Needless to say, if you are a fan of the company's stuff, we've got heaps of new content to check out -- trailers, news (Resident Evil remake remake, oh yeah), screenshots...nummers.

"Reloaded for the latest generation of hardware, Bionic Commando sees the return of the ultimate fusion of man and machine who became a firm favourite with gamers around the world some 20 years ago with the release of the 8-bit original on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Bionic Commando features Nathan Spencer (voiced by former lead singer of Faith No More, Mike Patton), as a government operative who, after distinguishing himself in a fierce conflict against the Imperials, is betrayed and f..."
Videogame company Capcom have a great line up of titles this year, Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV just the tip of the iceberg. But whether these games will even come to Australia and New Zealand is now up in the air. Red Ant,Capcom's third party distributor have given signs that they may have had a falling out with their partner, and with some games just weeks away, shipping them in time could be tough.
Electronic Theatre delivers confirmation of Capcom's first-quarter line-up for 2009, including finalised release dates for Street Fighter IV and Dead Rising Chop Till You Drop.

Capcom's website for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2008 has went up today, along with the publisher's current lineup for the show:
"The multiplayer in BC is set prior to the events of the single-player campaign. Gamers play as test subjects giving a revolutionary new grappling weapon a go in various combat arenas. Not only does this give some context to the BC single-player storyline, but it also allows developer GRIN to alter some of the game mechanics to fit multiplayer. See, this way they can say, "Hey, this is what the prototype was like." According to GRIN, the single-player gameplay just didn't quite fit multiplayer..."
