It's a sad day for eager games who have been anxiously awaiting Irrational Games Bioshock Infinite. It's now been pushed back to a 2013 release date and won't even be shown at this year's E3.
Will BioShock Infinite make its debut on all consoles at once next generation as well as this generation? We take a look at User Blog by Young Nigel in which he tackles his own personal recount of the details thus far.
Leviathyn.com's Cassidee Moser goes into detail about the adventures we'll take in Columbia. It has been five years since our first trip to this interesting world and traveled through Rapture. Will Columbia be able to give the same shock and awe?

"GamingUnion: "Welcome back to another episode of DarkFeed, the weekly show that gives you all the big news in the gaming industry, but in a bite sized portion. You walk away from the table feeling full, but not stuffed to the point of vomiting. The perfect amount of video game nutrition. After all, it does the body good... kind of.""
"This week Irrational games released the fourth and final video in their Heavy Hitter’s series that shows some of the more dangerous enemies that will appear in Bioshock Infinite. They’re a scary and menacing lot, but the question remains, are any of them going to terrify players more than the iconic Big Daddies from the first game?"
Irrational Games closes out its video series introducing the unique Heavy Hitter enemies starring in BioShock Infinite. Here's a recap of all four intros.
"For me gaming represents an escape and entertainment, not an opportunity to thump my chest in glory at having showed my gaming prowess.
But when I hear someone like Ken Levine say that in modern gaming “You lose this edge-of-your-seat management and sense that if you beat the game you’ve really done something extraordinary, that you have a real accomplishment” and that Bioshock Infinite has a mode to cater for these gamers, I am pleased as punch.
That’s because he’s seen there is a plac..."
2K Games and Irrational Games have announced the release date for BioShock Infinite for North American and International stores. BioShock Infinite introduces an entirely new narrative experience that lifts players out of the familiar confines of Rapture.
"That’s right folks, you can now take your favorite written blog with you in an audio format that you can put on your iPod for your listening pleasure at home or on the go. I think the kids are calling it a “podcast.” We just happen to call our’s Primecast, hosted by John Callahan and starring Chris Stewart, Alex Carlson, Raymond Mak, Lucas Hahn, and me, John-Charles Holmes.
This week, we decided to shoot the breeze and discuss recent happenings in the news, especially the developments of..."
It's that time of the week again for a new Prime Cut News Recap. A lot happened this week including Mortal Kombat on the PS Vita, new Street Fighter X Tekken characters, 1999 Mode in BioShock Infinite and something about a new Resident Evil.
In BioShock Infinite, gamers will have to sweat out the results of their actions. In addition, 1999 Mode will demand that players pick specializations, and focus on them.
"Player Affinity’s PC staff has logged a good thousand hours in Skyrim between us all, and by the time we’ve scoured the land of Tamriel for every last wedge of cheese we’ll be well into 2012. By that time a whole new slew of must-play games will be on shelves waiting to devour our precious time. Here are the ones that we’re most looking forward to playing."
"Bioshock: Infinite is a very interesting concept. The game will retain a lot of the natural Bioshock charm and from what I have seen so far, I cannot wait for the time to come where i finally get my hands on the game for myself."
With 2011 coming to a close, it's time to start looking forward. Matt Beaudette of Gaming Irresponsibly counts down the Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2012.
"This is where we get a little greedy and wish a few of the upcoming titles we are looking forward to made an appearance.
We aren’t saying they should have been there for us to play, but certainly these have all got in-game footage that has been seen on the net, so a live demonstration of playable code would have been interesting, even if only for Media and VIPs.
After all, Mass Effect 3, also due next year, was there to be played."
Summer is coming to a bitter sweet end! That's why Raptr, the social networking site that tracks gaming stats and achievements, have announced that everyone who follows 10 or more Summer of Raptr eligible topics will double their chances of winning the grand prize (20 of the hottest games and consoles from E3 2011).
Bioshock Infinite, name given to the game, should bring fresh air to the franchise, with a completely different plot and an even more daring setting. In the early games, we explored the city of Rapture in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Now, let's literally to the sky with Columbia, your new home in BioShock
"Did you watch that 15 minute gameplay trailer of Bioshock Infinite? Did you absolutely love it and now want to know more about the game? Well fear not, as there's a load of new information just came out from Ken Levine, Creative Director at Irrational Games and he's talking about everything from the game's protagonist having a voice to giant, emotional and eye-changing SongBirds."
"Up until now we’ve seen gorgeous screenshots, and trailers(and their literal versions)of BioShock Infinite. There is something we have yet to see as of yet, what the heck does the main character look like? The wait is over as the handsome devil has finally been revealed on the cover of this month’s EGM."
"This year's E3 was full of surprises. We had the debut of Wii U, Microsoft's practically totally Kinect-centric conference and the introduction of the Playstation Vita. As well as all that there was the traditional massive amount of games on show, getting us all hyped up for the impending release of many of our most anticipated titles including Mass Effect 3 and the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. But which items out of all this hardware and software deserves awards?"
Gus Mastrapa of Joystick Division calls for more diversity in video game settings, discussing Bioshock, Shadows of the Damned, Trenched, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Brutal Legend in the process.
"Anticipation is high for Bioshock Infinite as Ken Levine and his crew of developers over at Irrational Games build the next stage in a game series that deconstructs ideologies and erects worlds around them. The flying white city of Columbia is a beautiful place, and even caught in the middle of an ethnocentric American ideology and the chaotic ideals of the Vox Populi, players will see both sides of early twentieth century political beliefs torn asunder."
Irrational Games' highly-anticipated Bioshock Infinite is made of many items in terms of gameplay. One of the most mysterious are its Sky-Lines. Luckily, Ken Levine explains.
The title is self-explanatory, but NoobFeed.com's Daav is hell-bent on rubbing his opinion in your face, regardless of his electronics trying to prevent it. Catch his second impression with the Sony conference.
Of all the sights and sounds at this year's E3, one of the most captivating videos I've seen was for Bioshock Infinite, and after seeing this at Sony's conference, I'm all in for the newest title developed by Irrational Games.
"Bioshock Infinite is next to be showcased. The demo starts with blimps being destroyed, skyramps and a concerned looking lady. There’s also a creature that looks suspiciously like a Big Daddy ripping off a roof. The trailer was made entirely using in game footage."
"With E3 ready to rear its ugly, game-filled head in the next 24 hours or so a few of the members of the Console Domination team put their heads together to answer a few questions regarding what we believe that we should all be keeping our eyes on over the next few days."
In celebration of its new website launch, Raptr will giving away $25,000 worth in prizes during its Summer of Raptr Giveaway promotion. Prizes include the hottest games, consoles, and gear from E3 2011.
A job posting on Gamasutra today hints at what may be a possible multiplayer mode for the upcoming Bioshock: Infinite. is that necessarily a good idea?
"The types and styles of video gaming, as well as the artistic engineering and narrative builds, have an enormous breadth. We can play innovative games and experience fresh stories to a level that is practically unrivaled in the entertainment world."
"When considering your favorite games, it’s all too easy to ignore the people behind them in favor of a title’s own merits. But video games are the culmination of years of work by dozens and hundreds of people. It’s rare that a single person will be credited with the creation or popularization of an entire genre or franchise, but when it does happen, those names tend to stick with us. We pay attention to what they’re doing, and their projects generate more hype than they generally know what to..."
"At the "From Background to Center Stage: Building Game Worlds As Main Characters" panel for Bioshock Infinite PAX East, we were lucky enough to catch the best question of Friday: "One: do Big Daddies have penises, and two, what is the average size of a big daddy penis, and three [...]" -- you can watch the video for the rest, it's below.
Just remember, kids: you'll be immortalized for this sort of thing."
"Did you ever look at an evolutionary tree of life? The kinds of diagrams they show in biology class that show when different species diverged from each other and the paths they took. If you’ve ever seen one, you know that life can split off in amazingly divergent directions. Hippos and whales sharing a relatively recent common ancestor for example. Or a small group of African primates splitting into three directions giving the planet intelligent humans, barbarous apes, and amorous bonobos. Ga..."
"Game developers, would you kindly stop talking in my head? I know that in an interactive medium like video games it can be difficult to guide the player character, but the horse is just about dead. This tends to happen in the FPS genre more than anywhere else. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a design choice that has led to some of my favorite experiences such as BioShock or Hideo Kojima’s masterpiece, Metal Gear…"
TK-Nation's Cassandra Khaw corners Harrison Krix into an interview and learns about how the McGuyver of Cosplay made his awe-inspiring Big Daddy cosplay, the technical details and the fringe benefits of looking like a monster straight out of hell.
Hint: It involves free beer.
GTTV showed a gameplay Demo Teaser last night for Bioshock Infinite. It looks really good and is quite refreshing to see sunlight and fresh air. Check it out
"Now that our October cover has been unveiled, it's time to get a better look at BioShock Infinite with these three exclusive screenshots. The images showcase the outdoor environments of Columbia, from the war-torn streets to a park with an idyllic gazebo.
Columbia's visual style is a departure from the underwater corridors of Rapture, and this is an intentional shift in direction. If the original BioShock's artistic vibe could be summed up as "New Year's Eve, 1959," the phrase that the te..."
"Our BioShock Infinite covers, which were just unveiled onstage at PAX, are a significant departure from our normal look. Instead of using our traditional layout, we worked with artists at Irraional Games to produce covers that showcase what a video game magazine might have looked like on Columbia in the early 1900s. With illustrations inspired by period publications like The Saturday Evening Post, all three covers also feature unique advertisement for products a citizen of Columbia might need..."
Even though the game is perfect as is, a BioShock movie is still on the way. Ken Levine has confirmed that he's working with the filmmakers on bringing the game to theaters.
"Gore Verbinski revealed that the movie was held up over budgetary concerns. They’re still in a holding pattern, but we’ve heard from our sources that it’s not so much the budget that’s the hold up, Universal is willing to give him what he needs, but only if he waters the movie down to a PG-13 rating."
Geoff Keighley interviews Valve on their upcoming game, Portal 2. The new dlc for L4d1 AND l4d2 dubbed The Sacrifice and we get some more info on Bioshock Infinite! What's not to love? Check the source for the video!
"Last Thursday BioShock Infinite trailer was revealed. It was a surprise but we now have a cool idea of what the game will look like. The trailer was generous and revealed many details. The trailer promises a tense and impressive adventure. I feel really enthusiastic about the game."
"In this episode of the TV and Lust video game podcast, Craig, Chris, Seth and Fran discuss BioShock Infinite, the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow limited edition and new Fable III merchandise. This week’s topic is JRPGs; the team’s experiences with them, outlook, and how they compare to WRPGs. For this week in games, the team has been playing Resistance 2, Limbo, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and Nostalgia."

"DS: "So it turns out that big announcement for a new title formerly known as ‘Project Icarus’ has been demystified. Irrational Games, the folks behind the first BioShock, have presented the world with a plot synopsis, trailer, and screen-shot gallery of their latest reveal for BioShock Infinite, a new First Person Shooter currently in development from the team. This game is set in 1912 and will feature an all-new campaign which takes place in a city above the sky named Columbia. This game wil..."
