In this top 5, I list my favorite video games based on anime. Some of the entries will surprise you, but they all have anime/manga that released either at the same time or before the game was published. There's some real juggernauts in this list, and a few surprises. Take a look, and you'll see what I mean.

Although the Xbox 360 has the highest software attach ratio ever for a video game system, many exclusives don't sell as well as they should. Here are the top five most overlooked 360-only titles.

"Games should be fun.

But sometimes they get to a point where the challenge simply becomes beyond frustrating and makes you feel like an incompetent, so you don’t finish. Sometimes maybe it is your lack of skill, but other times it is just poor game design.

Or maybe the game becomes so boring that it becomes too frustrating to even bother finishing. After all, every second is a second lost of your life you’ll never get back, and who wants to be stuck playing a game that’s no longer fun..."

The father of Final Fantasy and head of Mistwalker, Hironobu Sakaguchi, blogs about the progress of the studio's latest unannounced game. He confirms that the game system is "almost done", and that "it makes tactical use of 'confusion and order on the battlefield' in real time". He is also working 120% on the title, and is still undergoing meetings in Tokyo regarding it.

"And making Legos is when I'm troubled with something. What I'm troubled with is graphic settings for the next new game project. When producing art and images from the script, different thoughts come out. I'm in the middle of kneading these thoughts.

What about the game itself? Planning to basically put importance on having seamless control of the overall direction of the game, mixed with CG spectacle scenes. Controls will have a bit of a trick to it, while having a blend of RPG-type strate..."

"In the photograph you’ll see most of the RPG’s I have in my collection. Some of them are very recent, like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, while others are in the usual R@RE and “buy it now” sections of eBay on a regular basis and will no doubt pay for my pension when I retire. All in all, there are about 40 Japanese style role playing games, including the few I missed in the shot, but they all have a place in my heart, as well as the same thoughts from many players of the genre."

In a press release today, Ignition Entertainment has announced that they will be publishing Mistwalker and AQ Interactive's Blue Dragon Plus for the Nintendo DS in North America and Europe, with the game releasing in March 2009. The sequel to the Xbox 360 RPG Blue Dragon, BD+ takes place one year after the events of the 360 game, with Shu and co. ready to save the world once more.

Blue Dragon Plus is a RTS similar to FFXII: Revenant Wings and Heroes of Mana. Boasting a single player camp...

GameInformer, the popular magazine about all things gaming that has somewhere near three million subscribers, always has a different game on the cover each time. MTV wanted to see if there was a GI cover curse, so they looked back into the past and pulled out magazines from 2-3 years ago.

One game titled Superman Returns didn't so well, receiving 6/10's. That's nothing compared to Fear and Respect, which was at one point on a GI cover, but ended up being canceled!

All in all, the game...

"Damn, that girl is smokin... oh... that's a guy?” Surely, we've all fallen victim to such a scenario. Not you, you say! You’re a hardcore gamer with 20/20 vision and a keen eye for Adam's apples and moose knuckles? Fine! Many of us aren't as perceptive, so we’ve decided to highlight those brave folks who might not have gotten their sex across the first time around."

"Those who want more dirt on the upcoming hot DS titles - Square Enix's Chrono Trigger and Mistwalker's Blue Dragon Plus - can now go ahead and eat their eyes out on these new scans provided by Gamekyo (formerly known as Jeux-France). Both games sport the well-loved character designs by famed manga artist Akira Toriyama, making the two games seem to be one and the same...but they're actually not, obviously.

The scans below are taken from Japanese V-Jump magazine, and are mostly of screensho..."

Reel Gamers have pulled together a list of the top 10 worst games that came out for next generation consoles, which include the Xbox 360, Wii and Playstation 3. The list ranges from Blue Dragon to Lair to Mario Kart Wii. Go to the source to view the rest and the reasonings behind them.

Well from the looks of the article it certainly seems to be the case. GamePlayer have looked over past interviews and information to break down the reasons as to why it seems that 2008 will see more RPG's released on the XBOX360.

From the fact that the (now-ex) Vice-President of Microsoft's XBOX division having drinks with FF series's co-founder (in 2004 mind you) resulted in Mistwalker, the company formed by the latter party after Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within tanked at the big screen...

The popular Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, recently revealed the top 50 XBox 360 games sold in Japan ... and the sales numbers ain't pretty!
It's a shame really, Microsoft's next-gen console just doesn't seem to appeal to the Japanese audience, and if Kotaku is anything to go by, the abysmal 360 sales seem to come down to poor marketing on Microsoft-Japan's behalf.
Even the ever popular Final Fantasy creator, Hironobu Sakaguchi, had pretty dismal sales for his RPG Blue Dragon (despite...

Well the next game of the series has finally got up their official website. Although contents and stuff is still in the making you can see this awesome picture here, from the website

Blue Dragon Plus is a real time role-playing game for the Nintendo DS and not just a card-based RPG as reported in other gaming sites.

It's another zany sales week in Japan, with DS and Wii sales shooting through the roof in a Nintendo-dominated top ten, and some weird and disheartening PSP sales.

There was a flip-flop at the top of the rankings, as this week's top seller was last week's #2, Mario Party DS, selling 180k units. The #2 seller is last week's #1, Wii Fit, with 124k units sold. Rounding out the top five is the only non-DS/Wii game in the top ten, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3 - 116k - BD Version), Professor L...

It was hoped that this game would single handed help the XBOX360 sell in Japan, a country that is known for their love of RPG's, and with XBOX360's lack of RPG's this was their biggest attempt to bring in the Japanese croud. But has it actually worked? Have they sold console after console due to this game? Unfortunately not. As reviewed by Kiziko, the review gives you the low-down on what was wrong with the game, and if your an RPG fan like myself, makes us feel that bit better that we have t...

The hype and hyperbole for BioShock continues its ebb and flow across the industry - and critical feedback sure says that 2K Games' latest offering is a bona fide stunned. But what's on offer this week? Well, if you're in the US, then Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the cream of the crop, while the likes of Blue Dragon, Warhawk, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 are following close behind.

The review score shadow presently being cast by BioShock is vast... and GamerSquad feels a little sorry for any other game attempting to secure retail trade this week. That said, there are some impressive titles on offer along with BioShock, and they are: Blue Dragon, Moto GP 07, Dave Mirra BMX Challenge, Brunswick Pro Bowling, and Two Worlds (if it doesn't slip... again).

I've written an in-depth article on the Blue Dragon demo that was recently released over the Xbox Live Marketplace. The article delves into various aspects of the game such as customizing your character's abilities and how the combat system works. I also took a bunch of screenshots of my actual gameplay to give gamers a better look at what to expect come August.

"Name: Blue Dragon Demo
Price: Free
Availability: All Xbox Live regions
Dash Details: The Blue Dragon Demo is available! Play the grand adventure in two dungeons filled with Mecha Robos and Ancient Monsters!"

"A free download will be available as of 20th July. The download weighs in at 1.1Gb which is quite sizable but for that you'll get two hours of gameplay to sample before the game hits in August. The voiceovers will only be available in English (come on, what other languages did you want to try?) but the subtitles are available in both English and Japanese depending on the language preference of the console.

The download is only available until 3rd August so don't wait too long to download it."

"Bringing top Japanese developer talent to the Xbox 360, “Blue Dragon” is a culmination of the work of famed game producer Hironobu Sakaguchi of Mistwalker game studio and developer Artoon. This epic RPG features the character design of Akira Toriyama, who designed “Dragon Ball Z,” and music by Nobuo Uematsu, the composer for “Final Fantasy.”

Gamers will find themselves exploring and discovering the vast world of “Blue Dragon” as they assume the role of Shu, a young boy who along with his ..."

GamerSquad brings you not one, not two, but three gameplay clips from Mistwalker/Artoons' gorgeous-looking Blue Dragon RPG. And, what's more, you don't have to listen to grating Japanese characters wailing like soap opera actresses. Nope, it's all in English, soap opera English, but English all the same.

For those of you who are excited about the upcoming RPG for XBOX 360 - Blue Dragon, you'll be happy to find out that there's an anime in development to accompany this game:

This is the Japanese opening scene.
