Review for Codemaster's Bodycount game. A spectacular FPS but without a story to tell. Shots, explosions, destruction and not much more in this easy-game.

Daav from NoobFeed blasts his ways through the hellholes of Africa and Asia, to end up in strange futuristic bunkers. There's a ton of potential in this title, but many issues big and small deny Bodycount time and again.

"Despite thinking I would hate Body count I found myself playing it with a huge smile on my face. It’s just fun, outrageous fun. In a market this packed though I’m not sure if it can carve out a section for itself."

"I cannot do it anymore. I snagged a copy of Bodycount for the purpose of wanting to write about it for the site. I read one review that was fairly positive and decided I wanted to write one for BitPunch. After spending some hours with this game my idea of a review became more of a list of reasons why you should not be playing this game."

NoobFeed.com puts Daav in another brink, no pun intended. The shooter Bodycount prides itself on creating an 'over the top' experience, which is exactly what it creates, for better and for worse.

A demo for Bodycount was released on Xbox LIVE last week but ended up being pretty disappointing. With several blockbuster shooters set for release in the coming months, this is one game you will probably want to pass on.

"The new ‘Behind the Bullets Part 1: The Guns’ video explores how the core gunplay experience is central to Bodycount’s outrageous arcade firefights. As Codemasters Guildford Studio team members discuss the way in which gun handling, VFX and level design combine to deliver a “crazy, over the top” experience, the video shows players shredding..."

Codemaster's new game, Bodycount, will be releasing on August 30th in the US and September 2nd in Europe. For fan of stylized action shooters, check out the video!

"An FPS wouldn’t be complete without an online component, and Bodycount delivers the standard modes we come to expect. Also, it features a co-op mode which picks certain parts of levels and pits you and a friend against an onslaught of enemies."

Bodycount is the name of the most audacious new game involving Stuart Black, who provides a very focused experience and pure shooter. The game shares some elements with the acclaimed Black from Criterion. Still, this is not a sequel, but a game with a setting, plot and elements completely different.

Bodycount is an upcoming first-person shooter with a unique gameplay design that allows you to let loose and play your way. Check out BrightHub's full Bodycount preview for details on the upcoming title.

"After a huge fail with Bodycount (fired by his own team), Stuart Black has found a new studio for his exile. Stuart Black is the famous designer who created Black on Xbox and PS2 a few years ago. He was actually working on Bodycount a kind of FPS which promised full destruction of the environment but which video trailer of the alpha version really disappointed (here). He left the studio on November."

"Once 2011 begins, mankind will only have one more year remaining until….the end of the world. Within mankind’s final year, a huge blow out of highly anticipated games are going to be released. Some are new I.P’s while some are sequels. Some you’ve never heard of while some are more famous than bread on a stick (wait is that even famous?). Gentlemen & ladies (gentlemen first), allow me to introduce to you the most wanted games of 2011!"

"Yesterday we informed you that Stuart Black was about to leave Codemasters (in October) before the game he’s working on is released. Bodycount was announced by Black as a masterpiece of his work where environment will be fully deestructible. But Stuart Black talked at lot… about the other FPS of the market especially explaining in the press that the current first-person shooters titles are “f*cking boring”."

"Stuart Black gave a long interview to The Guardians about the upcoming and higly destructible Bodycount. He detailed his philosophy and his obsession with Lady Gaga.

While everyone focuses on his Lady Gaga’s concept, when we read the entire interview we learnt a very interesting philosophy and vision of the video game industry which we will try to define in this article."

"Bodycount is THE upcoming FPS developed under Stuart Black’s control. This FPS is decided to honor big guns, in oppositition with the main trend which develops realistic militarian FPS. One common point, however, is the destructible environment which is the big trend of 2010."

Bodycount is one of the most anticipated upcoming FPS. Developed by Stuart Black, Bodycount should be the great inheritor of Black, which was developed by S. Black on PS2. It won’t get too “blogged down in plot machinations“.

Stuart Black said in a previous interview that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 wasn't "the game to beat". This strategy is interesting according to the market's trend and is the occasion for FPS Time to analize the situation.

"“We’re pretty sure no one has done a Gaga-inspired shooter yet,” Black told PlayStation: The Official Magazine (May 2010 Issue).

So can we expect to see the popstar herself in the final game? Black lets loose: “I’d love her to do a cameo!” Guns, girls and Gaga. If that’s not a shooter with potential, we don’t know what is,” Black concluded."

"Bodycount, the game from Black creator Stuart Black running on the EGO engine from Codemasters, might have shown its hand in terms of screens, but its inspiration isn’t quite so obvious – Lady Gaga?

The revolutionary popstress was “a major thing” for Black. “I saw her at Glastonbury in July,” he said, “and was just blown away by her performance. The power of it, the creativity. I found that incredibly exciting.”"
