Brock Poulsen from GoozerNation analyzes the hatred Brink received after its release in 2011, and the gaming community's response to anticipation and disappointment.

Gamefly is having an under $20 used game blowout. The big question is what games should gamers pick up now? Some of the better games include Duke Nukem Forever for $10, Brink for $10, Epic Mickey for $12.99, and Red Faction Armageddon for $12.99. La Noire for $19.99 and Shadows of the Damned for $17.99 are too good to pass up on. The biggest question is when will gamers have time to play all these games?

Daav from NoobFeed.com rounds up another batch of game ideas after a 'very productive period of film watching'. At least there's a justification for eating chips and sitting on your ass. Five more films get transitioned and compared with games like Zelda, L.A. Noire, Brink, Assassin's Creed and even Leisure Suit Larry.

"Agents of Change is all about secrets, lies, and double agents. No one and nothing is at it seems as the arrival of a mysterious ship from the outside world shatters the tentative peace reached between the Resistance and Security factions. The revived battle spreads to two all-new districts of the Ark – the futuristic, underwater Labs facility and Founders’ Tower, the iconic spire housing the island’s wealthy elite."

"Ever since Bungie created the very idea of game statistical sites, many game companies have used this technology to give their fans a little something extra. These sites like players check their overall stats, heat maps, and a bunch of other cool information that you don't really need but is cool to have anyway. Bethesda announced today that it has launched its own stat site for the PC version of Brink."

"Having played a solid ten hours of Brink that I’ll never get back, and a solid ten hours of the Uncharted Beta that I’m glad I spent, I’ve come to the conclusion that there is a lot that the two games could learn from each other. While Brink’s time is well and truly over (and should be customarily taken out the back and shot), Naughty Dog’s upcoming Playstation exclusive Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, could do with taking some pointers from the parkour FPS."

"At the start of July the Console Sports League, or CSL for short, will be hosting the Brink Cup Series for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 players. Writing a good review or holistic critique of a video game is easy, because that analysis feeds off interesting subject matter. Writing an interesting video game product review, on the other hand, is extremely difficult.

"There's just been a massive amount of information released about Brink, which is expected to receive new downloadble content named Agents of Change, as well as receive a title update that will fix a lot of underlining issues people had with the game."

A group of hackers have attempted to attack Bethesda websites and forums. Bethesda has urged its forum users to change their passwords not only on their sites, but other sites they might frequent as well. The studio also asked users to pay extra attention to their emails in fear of personal attacks.

"Brink is an interesting little oddity: despite churning away in the background for a couple of years now, it never really registered on many gamers' radars. Developed by Splash Damage (creators of the horribly underrated Quake Wars: Enemy Territory), Brink offers a fast paced, team based on- and offline shooter, based in a dystopian future."

"For some, Brink was a total disaster and it couldn’t meet the expectations of gamers. However, there is still a good number of players following this game and enjoying the multiplayer side of things. Well, we now have some details regarding the first DLC of Brink."

"I love writing for GoozerNation. Quite regularly I get assigned a new, hot game to review that is sure to bring in hits. And for the most part, I've enjoyed every game I've been assigned.

Unfortunately, Brink changes this. A few of my fellow writers have been looking forward to this title for quite some time; I had never heard of it. And unfortunately, most of the "features" are worthless or detrimental to me."

"With the market saturated with realistic modern day shooters Brink aims to be a game that offers something different by introducing some unique concepts such as team work, fluid movement over obstacles parkour style, tasked based missions, class based objectives, with characters with literally millions of unique combinations, but sadly it never reaches the promised heights."

Amazon.com is discounting the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the recently-released first-person shooter, Brink, a week after it launched in North America.

"I am a huge fan of Bethesda and all of their games. Naturally, when I first heard of Brink nearly a year ago I was intrigued. As additional information on the game was released, I became more and more interested in the new ideas that were being brought to the table. I have also heard a decent amount of feedback on the game's developer Splash Damage. Release day finally came. What happened to this promising title?"

"By now you have all read those reviews out there: “Brink 2/5!” or “Brink plays a lot like Team Fortress 2, if you took all the fun out”. Those of us that received early review copies of the game seemed to hold the game in low regard but Gamespot did something that I entirely respect. They decided to wait a bit until after launch for the day one patch so they could play a consumer product. That noble behavior inspired me to spend some more time with Brink myself, Gaming Irresponsibly apologize..."

In the wake of the PlayStation Network outage and Brink's online being unplayable at launch, Joystick Division wonders if the industry should focus so thoroughly on online play.

"It’s a unique mash. If you were to combine the first-person parkour of Mirror’s Edge with the class-based object shooter Team Fortress 2, you would get Splash Damage’s Brink. Published by Bethesda and a few years undertow, this colorful shooter is finally ready to fall into the hands of gamers. But is it worth your top dollar?"

"In an industry flooded with generic first-person shooters and role-playing games, a common complaint among gamers is the lack of fresh and original content in the form of new intellectual properties. Sequels have become a driving force within the industry as the eighth Call of Duty is set for release later this year, and nearly every high profile title this holiday season has a number at the end of the title. While there certainly are benefits to sequels – building upon a universe, improving ..."

This past weekend at PAX East 2011, I had the privilege to preview Brink, an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Splash Damage and published by Bethesda Softworks. During my preview I discovered very quickly that Brink is a different kind of shooter altogether, as I gracefully maneuvered through the game’s colorful settings and competed with my teammates in highly rewarding mission-based gameplay.

With every new video that comes out for Brink, it looks more and more like Team Fortress. There will be a big emphasis on teamwork in this upcoming first-person shooter. Check out the full story for all the details and the video. Cheers!

Brink takes the FPS formula gamers know and love and added an extra layer of features. After getting some alone time with the game, there are three particular features that can really get a gamer really excited.

"Brink is a visually and thematically unique shooter. Feeling like an expansion upon other team-based shooters, Brink blurs the lines between single player, cooperative, and multiplayer versus gaming. There are no true single-player levels—in which your character runs down straight corridors to an end—as Brink takes place on the battle field. Sure, the single-player game has goals, but at any given time a player can jump in and join up with real-world players. Even more, taking the game online..."

"2011 is promising to be a huge year for games, and one genre still getting plenty of love is the shooter. Killzone 3, Crysis 2, Bulletstorm and Deus Ex: Human Revolution are just a few examples. But what about the shooters just outside the spotlight? Here are five exciting looking shooters sliding by under the radar, in no particular order."

"Bethesda Studios have announced their line-up for 2011 and they are out to impress. No less than four triple A games are set for launch this year. Including the award winning Brink, Co-op adventures in Hunted. First person shooter RAGE and from the makers of Fallout 3 and Oblivian Elder scrolls 4 comes The Elder Scrolls V""

Gaming is becoming more immersive by the minute it seems, and with the way it's upwardly trending, one can only imagine how much more interactive and customizable gaming will become to cater to everyone's needs individually. While this is a great thing in many ways, it's become evident that the expectation for gameplay and character interaction has risen dramatically in games that offer little to no customization in the first place.

"Critical Gamer writes: Splash Damage CEO Paul Wedgwood is Game Director (in his words, “Basically jumped up playtester”) for his company’s latest title, Brink. He’s on the show floor for the first day of the Eurogamer Expo, tensely watching how press and public alike react to his game – despite all the positive press it’s received in recent months. It soon becomes clear that Brink is the most popular game of the show; people are queueing two to three hours for one match on every day of the Expo."

"Critical Gamer writes: Two awesome things were waiting for Neil and I in the VIP area of the Eurogamer Expo: free coffee, and Splash Damage’s lead writer for Brink, Edward Stern. Though his surname makes him sound like a particularly severe member of the Mr Men lineup, Mr Stern couldn’t be any more warm and affable if he tried. Or perhaps he could, and he’s just not putting the effort in; we can’t be sure.

He speaks with great passion and authority about both his own game Brink, and videog..."

"At QuakeCon, Splash Damage presented the upcoming Brink on Xbox 360, for the very first time on this console. The studio decided to present the game to the press and the communicaty at the same time, which is rather unusual. The purpose of the public / press conference was to confirm that there won’t be any differences between the platforms and that the controls will be absolutely the same."

Sony is the most powerful machine on the market and everyone knows that but XBOX360 isn't no slouch either.
