Microsoft claims they are tough on security so why are so many hackers and modders allowed to pollute games like Call of Duty: World at War? That game is in ruins. Just try playing it for yourself!

The lists of games that will become the game of the year 2012. there are many new games coming sometime in 2012 these are the lists of games most likely will become GOTY 2012. but which one?.. it's a very hard choice but I'm sure it will be either one of them.

The Call of Duty video game series has changed the way people think about the entertainment business. Avatar made $232 million globally in its first five days of release. Call Of Duty: Black Ops made $650 million. An infographic on GNVR gives us an visual look full of details showing us just how big the Call of Duty video game franchise really is.

"Hello Activision, I’m sorry I missed your call. Actually, it seems that I’ve missed several calls in the past few years. I mean to make it up to you, but before I do, just let me say this – as politely as I can – if you’d stop calling me so often, I might actually pick up once in while.

I bought Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and World at War (the fifth entry in the series) a while ago, but I haven’t had the time to play them. Two more Calls have come since then, and with the third Mod..."

"There’s something about certain games that naturally draw me in. This is considerably easier with any sort of RPG that involves decisions and progression that allow you to influence not only your character, but the actual game itself. I’ve spent so much time with these games because I’m able to make the character my own, affect the environment, and play the game almost exactly how I want to play it."

"You can download all the Call of Duty map packs you want, but if you've never heard the words "Corneria, fourth planet of the Lylat system...," then I cannot reasonably consider you a gamer. Sorry, eleven-year-olds."

"Gamers are finding it exceedingly difficult to invest in multiple games throughout the year due to financial constraints. As a result of that, gamers are directing their spending power to a limited number of games, or rather franchises."

A nation known as a peaceful bastion of liberalism exploded in a convulsion of sheer hatred. After a terror attack with a bomb and shooting video games are taking heat after the person that did it said he played games like world at war and used games like modern warfare 2 as a training tool. Now some of the largest retailer are removing these games from there store shelf's due to a large backlash.

"COD is a bit of a fishy beast. In theory, a game that remains the same year in, year out with only minimal upgrades and some new levels shouldn’t do well. It should probably be instead a fond memory, drifting in the breeze and whispered only in passing by those who still recall the good times they had with the product. The exact same thing recently happened with Guitar Hero; after years of stagnant gameplay that did absolutely nothing to innovate, the franchise itself has been put indefinitel..."

Video games have been given a bad rap over the years as nothing more than mindless entertainment. Luckily, there are some things that video games teach us. Check out the full story to see what two very popular titles teach us.

In a recent investor meeting, Activision spoke about their intentions to expand the Call of Duty franchise to one of the largest countries in the world. Check out the full story for all the details.

"A story caught my eye recently. A title that had me showing my O face before I even read the the full story. However, I always try to come across as a critic no matter the situation. In this article, I will go through all the “ways” this article details and give my thoughts on each. Ready? here we go!"

Online retailer Amazon has discounted Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: World at War on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 to under $15 each.

As soon as the Guitar Hero franchise was put to rest last week, many gamers were afraid that eventually the same situation will occur for Call of Duty. Check out the full article to find out why that may not be the case. Cheers!

"I hate to break it to everyone who had the luxury of enjoying a Christmas Break whether they’re being educated at the elementary, secondary or collegiate level, but fun time is over and both Christmas and New Year’s is nothing more than a distant dream. I know that’s hard to swallow as you read this amidst a lecture or lab that is probably only slightly less fun than watching a blade of grass attempt to grow under a snowy wasteland, but no one ever said I had to sugarcoat the truth. Never fea..."

"I thought this appropriate after hearing the release numbers for the latest game in the series (Black Ops). Hearing that it had the biggest release day, beating Modern Warfare 2, and also had the most money spent on it for development, I expected…more."

Publisher Activision today announced that the numerous downloadable map packs from the Call of Duty franchise have combined to sell over 20 million units.

"Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has recently made the statement that, “The Call of Duty franchise is a force of nature. I think it is the closest thing this generation has to a Star Wars. I think it’s unique and bigger than any musical act or any movie franchise in that capacity.” While we appreciate Mr. Kotick’s enthusiasm for his product, we don’t believe there’s been a game that has come close to the cultural impact that Star Wars had when it was released in 1977. However, we humbly submit fiv..."

GameZone's Dave Snell discusses the current climate of the gaming industry with downloadable content and how it is affecting the full title and gamers.

"A thrifty gamer is a happy gamer so we've scoured the Sunday ads to find the best video game deals for this week from local stores for the Playstation 3, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and PC for the week of May 23, 2010."

"But Infinity Ward are shedding staff like nobody's business - and the MW franchise is 'damaged', according to rival EA. Who better to save the Modern Warfare series from oblivion than the most celebrated FPS developer in the world?

Bungie and Activision are bosom buddies - and it's not as if the publisher doesn't have the money and power to (a) Increase Bungie's headcount so it can work on two projects and (b) Change the Washington-based firm's mentality of concentrating solely on one IP."

"Activision revealed earlier this year that newly-formed Sledgehammer Games will develop a spin-off Call of Duty title, rumored to be a third-person shooter. When asked if it was possible two Call of Duty titles could be released in 2011 and if the company was worried about diluting the market, Tippl wouldn't clarify, only saying that Activision has set high standards for its titles."

Yup folks, Treyarch's next installment to their Call Of Duty stockpile is fixed for release this November much like Modern Warfare 2 did last year. Call Of Duty: Black Ops has yet to have been seen, so nothing is actually confirmed as of yet but speculation links it to the Vietnam conflicts.

Be sure to check gametrailers tonight for a first look at the game.

"Infinity Ward has experienced numerous defections since Activision sacked the two heads of the Call of Duty franchise. With the development of the franchise now spread across two other development groups, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey thinks it likely that Infinity Ward will be shut down after the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map pack is released."

Activision has confirmed that there will be a new Call of Duty game coming out before the end of this year in their latest quarterly financial briefing.

"When Electronic Arts announced Dead Space Extraction for the Wii—a follow-up to the million-plus selling PS3, 360, and PC title Dead Space—the company explained that the game would be used as a test case to see whether or not it would develop more Mature-rated Wii games in the future. And according to NPD sales figures, Extraction failed: it sold just 9,200 copies in its first week. So what does this mean for the future of Mature Wii games?"

"Deciding the victor in terms of unique users that have logged-on to play online, Halo 3 remains the most popular Xbox LIVE title of the 2009 calendar year. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 take second and third place respectively, while Call of Duty: World at War and Gears of War 2 manages to round-out the top five. Resident Evil 5, however, has been split into two entries – that of the North American and European release, and that of the Japanese title under ..."

"Last year, 2009, turned into a sensational twelve months for Activision as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ended the year as the best-selling videogame topping the coveted 2009 All Formats Chart, according to data released today by ELSPA/GfK Chart-Track. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has continued to set new records since its release in November last year, grossing more than £67 million in its first week of sales."

""It's definitely an aspiration that we see potential in, particularly as we look at different business models to monetize the online gameplay," said Tippl. "There's good knowledge exchange happening between the Blizzard folks and our online guys."

"We have great experience also on Call of Duty with the success we had on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. A lot of that knowledge is getting actually built into the Battle.Net platform and the design of that," he added. "I think it's been mut..."

"Modern Warfare 2 has been unleashed and has resulted in mass hysteria at retailers around the globe. Being Call of Duty, it’s only natural that such hype should be sustained by a brand name alone. But how long can Activision annually release the same series before their work reaches the predictability of other industry juggernauts such as Madden and Guitar Hero?"

"The gaming industry has gotten bigger and better with each passing year, but sometimes they just don’t do things right. Whether it’s game play, story, pricing, or business practice, sometimes the industry needs a little friendly fire from the gamers to keep it in line."

"Below is a list of the top downloaded items from the PlayStation Store for the week ending October 22nd. This week Call of Duty: World at War and Fallout 3 both dominate the chart. The number one spot is occupied by the latest COD: WAW Map Pack for the second straight week. Fallout 3’s add on content has been very popular over the past few weeks. Check back each week for the lastest and most popular downloads from the PlayStation Store."

"Treyarch definitely knows how to keep their fans happy. Though they have dealt with a very lukewarm reception to Call of Duty: World at War overall, they have done a spectacular job keeping their fans interested and involved by releasing three map packs to augment the game to date. We’ve covered every single one of them here at Spawn Kill, and now the third map pack review has rolled around. It can easily be summed up in one word: fantastic. This might just be the best map pack yet out of the..."

"It has been revealed today that the third Downloadable Content (DLC) release for Activision and Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War, cunningly titled Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3, sold over one million copies in it’s first weekend on sale."

War, it has been said time and time again, is Hell. On the virtual battlefields of recent war games, more of an effort is being made to portray the harsh realities of warfare. The best example is, of course, Call of Duty 4; it is a war story of broken men out for blood, dicey international relationships and the grim reality of the front line. It was a ballsy story for sure – without spoiling it, the event that occurs at the end of Act 1 is gut-wrenching in a way few war stories can achieve.

Call of Duty: World at War is on sale at 50% off on Steam once again. This time, World at War is on sale via a Mid-Week Madness sale. The game is currently priced at $25.00 USD. The sale ends on Thursday, August 13.

"Map Pack 3 is obviously the 3rd map pack available now for Call Of Duty World at War, the downloadable content includes 3 multiplayer maps as well as the 4th zombie mode/map. World at War's multiplayer has a lot of problems, more often than not the key to being a good player isn't having the best shot, or being in the best team, it's knowing the maps faults, and exploiting them to your advantage. Nothing has changed in Map Pack 3's multiplayer, the spawns are still questionable with underpowe..."

"The war rages on with intense fury for one of the most-popular online multi-player games, as Activision Publishing, Inc. and developer Treyarch announced today that Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 is now available for download on Xbox 360 and the PLAYSTATION 3. Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 includes three new multi-player maps and one Zombie map:"

"T.S. Eliot once wrote, "This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper." While that may be interesting enough for your freshman Introduction to Poetry class, it hardly works as a video game premise, which would explain why Activision hasn't yet secured the rights to Call of Poetry: Modernism Warfare. On the other hand, video games need intense settings and outrageous set pieces, and there's nothing more intense or outrageous than the end of the world. For this week's top ten, w..."

"Marking a first for the Call of Duty franchise and its millions of dedicated fans, and following the announcement that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will receive it's own Nintendo DS spin-off later this year, Activision Publishing, Inc. and Call of Duty: World at War developer Treyarch, have launched another handheld product, the Call of Duty: World at War Companion, the first iPhone application for the blockbuster game today via iTunes for free. The Call of Duty: World at War Companion allows..."

If you already didn't have enough Iphone apps on your phone, the boys from Call of Duty World at War created a new app for your iphone. The Call of Duty World at War Companion. Bring the war with you.

The third map pack is due for release next week, bringing the excitement of another Zombie map. Here is a glimpse of it in action.

"In regards to subsequent titles after MW2, it appears that Treyarch’s next stab at the franchise may center on the Vietnam War with possible espionage missions based on The Cold War era, and I have previously suggested that Future Warfare would be received well, should it be the decided direction when the series inevitably shifts gears again.

But what about the Civil War? Would this be a viable course for the franchise at some point in the future?"

The list of achievements has been announced today along with it comes further insight into what the third pack will look like. With the storyline developing and the new features becoming more and more advanced with each pack, the third installment to the Zombies mini-game is a much awaited DLC.

Head on over to the source to see the full list of new achievements

1. Resident Evil 5
2. UFC 2009 Undisputed
3. Call of Duty: World at War

Today Activision announced they would continue to support World at War with a new map pack that will contain 4 maps and 10 new achievements and trophies and be released in Auguest.

"Whoever said PC gaming is dead should get their eyes checked. Today, Treyarch announced that Call of Duty: World at War's 1.5 patch is out. With it a map pack that comes with three new multiplayer levels (Banzai, Corrosion, and Sub Pens) and one new Zombie level (Shi No Numa). Check out the release notes and other details after the jump."

"I don't think the top five games will be changing anytime soon. If anything, we can only hope that when Modern Warfare 2 releases, it will unite those who split from World at War and CoD4, so we can at least see some other games make their way onto the list.

However, I foresee a similar split between Halo 3 and Halo ODST users when that drops, probably taking the 3 and 4 spot, but that is quite a while away. I love seeing the strong support of Left 4 Dead despite the turmoil that game cr..."

"The figures, compiled by GfK Chart-Track, show family-oriented and educational games have become the most popular with the UK public. With combined sales volumes of 1.65 million units, Nintendo's Wii Fit, Wii Play and Mario Kart Wii titles equate to 72% of the top five 'best sellers' chart. The period also saw total sales of Nintendo's Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training surpass the three million units mark to become the UK's most popular game ever."

NBS dusts off Call of Duty 2 and pulls the game out of retirement to see how it stacks up today in comparison to the more recent releases in the series, CoD 4: Modern Warfare and CoD: World at War.

Call of Duty: World at War came out last fall for the PC, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and mobile phones. In just a little over six months, the latest game in the popular Call of Duty series has sold more than 11 million copies.

"Call of Duty: World at War received fairly good reviews from a majority of critics. The game packed in the classic Call of Duty elements, and just about mimicked the fourth Call of Duty in terms of online layout; something that a lot of casuals and COD4 fans appreciated. However, Treyarch always seemed to get a load of stick from the COD4 fanboys, being told that nothing they could come up with would top Modern Warfare. I for one like both games on a very similar level, and both games still h..."

Call of Duty: World at War's Map Pack 2 hits the Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network today. The package includes three new normal multiplayer maps and one additional map for the co-op/zombie mode.

""Earlier today on Spawn Kill our very own The Herp graciously informed us that the second map pack for Call of Duty: World at War would be hitting consoles tomorrow. Activision has graciously provided us with a trailer for your viewing pleasure! If you can’t wait a few short hours until tomorrow, then hit the jump to check out the World at War Map Pack #2 in all its bloody glory. Who’s going to be purchasing?""

"With my exams going way better than I expected, and with so many out of the way, I figured I would have a bit more time on my hands to dive into a few games. Of course E3 has been a crucial focus of the week for me, but I only got to watch the Sony and EA conferences in full. I was a bit miffed that Metal Gear Solid Rising was in development for the Xbox 360, but now Raiden is leading the game, and it’s not even being written by Hideo Kojima himself, Peace Walker will more than wet my taste f..."

"Sorry for the late delivery on this one guys, I meant to have posted this way earlier in the week, but due to E3, we got bogged down on the site. So, as I said I would last, this edition of GMG is about underrated games and how they shamefully stay underrated amongst gamers. Let’s just take one example for the sake of it, Okami; a seamlessly beautiful game of the later-Playstation 2 era… Do we hear people talk about it or blog how they still love playing it? No, they don’t, which bring me to ..."

"Cover systems aren’t exactly something that have been there since the start for the shooter genre. My own first experience of the cover systems are the snap-on cover mechanics used in Metal Gear Solid, and also the flawless chunky cover system in Gears of War for the Xbox 360. I am a huge fan of developers implementing cover systems into any shooting games, but then again I may be outspoken. For example, a massive number of gamers may play Gears 2 online which may suggest that covers systems ..."

The second map pack for Call of Duty: World at War will be releasing in the coming June, and should be a treat for fans and veterans of the series. There are three new multiplayer maps, Banzai (featured right) comprising of a large bridge and the surrounding terrain, Corrosion (down and to the left) a Russian train yard, and Sub Pens (below and to the right) which is what it says on the box. Shi No Numa will also feature, another zombie map, this time taking place in a swamp and packing new e...

Major Nelson has posted up the Live Activity for the week of May 11th, and with that comes some regulars, along with some .. weirdness... such as the fact that the UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo has made it's way on the top ten for the fourth week in a row! I played it, I don't get it, how is this on the list.. *shrugs shoulders*. Though being out a year and a half, as well as having a sequel, Call of Duty 4 continues to carry a high rank on the list :D

"That’s right. According to The Hollwood Reporter, it seems that Activision have set up deals for “Call of Duty: The Movie”, the movie for the very popular video game.

“[The Call of Duty movie is] being talked about for the big screen,” said one person with knowledge of the deal.

However, in an interview prior to Thursday’s quarterly earnings conference call, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick wouldn’t comment on the status of Call of Duty becoming a film."

"The juggernaut that is Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 continues to roll, with Activision and developer Treyarch announcing today that worldwide sales for the Downloadable Map Pack have cleared the two million download mark, between both XboxLIVE! and the PlayStation Network combined."

"A new set of maps for Call of Duty: World at War (due in June) wasn’t the only major piece of news floating around recently pertaining to Activision’s famed FPS series. Rumor has it that Treyarch’s next contribution to the series may center on Vietnam, based on Activision’s supposed efforts in obtaining rights for Vietnam War-era music."

Remember the fuss we caused with that Bayonneta: God of War killer article? That was fun, wasn't it?

Guerilla Games' (Killzone 2) Managing Director Herman Hulst is on our side with this whole thing, introducing some democracy into the mix.

Basically, for those that still bother with this 'franchise X killer' nonsense, grow up, cause the people that make these games sure aren't doing it!

In a surprise move, Activision and Infinity Ward announced that they have ditched efforts to produce a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in order to take the highly popular first person shooter series in a totally different direction. We do, however, wish to see the gaming industry remain healthy and recognize that in order to do so competition must remain fierce in the ongoing console battle. I am amazed that despite the release of World at War, this does not hinder the CoD4 community from taking down everything that isn't Halo 3. Real football (FIFA) manages to beat out American football (Madden), and surprisingly, people are still playing Grand Theft Auto.

Call of Duty: World at War kicked butt during December, placing three times in the top 20 of the NPD bestseller list with the Xbox 360 version, PlayStation 3 version and Wii version. With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 already announced, this article takes a look at some things that could be improved in the series.

The top list of games sold this week has been released.

Wii - Wii Fit was in the top 3 of all regions. Mario Kart Wii and Wii Play were up in the top as well.

Xbox 360 - Call of Duty: World at War was at the top of North America and Europe, along with Gears of War 2. In Japan, Race Driver: GRID and Fallout 3 came out on top.

Playstation 3 - Littlebigplanet finished number one in both Europe and North America. Fallout 3 did well in Europe and Japan, as did Call of Duty: World at Wa...

"You know, its not that I don't like people. People are cool. I really do enjoy getting to know people in general. But for the most part, I don't want to participate in headset banter. In some circles, one might label me a jerk.

Don't get me wrong though. I'm not a complete tool. If I'm playing something that involves heavy strategy or tight verbal coordination, I'm throwing on the headset, no question. Call of Duty or Left 4 Dead would be a generally disastrous experience without voice cha..."

Australia gets to see its software sales for 16th of November! What topped the all consoles category? Surprisingly it's the game that's had a lot of criticism, Wii Music! Call of Duty: World at War then took second and third place on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 respectively.

Wii Music also topped the Wii section. This was followed by the popular Guitar Hero: World Tour and then the ever well selling Wii Fit.

"Once again Epic shows its complete incompetence with narrative, and it only becomes such a problem in spite of trying to better themselves. Surely a far better developer of multiplayer experiences, the hand of design is revealed too often, squandering transparency. But it’s the succinctly focused essentials that will again become the stuff of memory, and we’ll hear the grunts and cries of this ripped brethren for a long time time to come in the rich halls of the online space."

"While not the first game to portray the Pacific-side of WWII, World At War is the most prominent. One could argue for Medal of Honor's pair of entries, but those came as the franchise was dwindling (not to mention, before and during Joystiq's infancy). World At War follows the overwhelming reception of Call of Duty 4 and benefits from a massive marketing campaign from its publisher, Activision. In short, it's in my face and on my mind.

This morning I watched the first five minutes of gamep..."

To celebrate the release of Call of Duty: World at War, we've had our resident WWII expert, and all around CoD guru, to present what he feels are the Top 11 moments from the entire franchise's history.

Personally, kind of tired of the call of duty games and WWII setting (Willing to forgive alternate timelines like Red Alert 3 and Resistance)... Sure, killing nazi's = fun and shouldn't grow old, but I'm simply tired of all WWII genre.

Call of Duty: World At War is another game to the popular FPS Call of Duty series. The game is set to be released over the next couple of days, North America being the first on the 11th.

This video is of online gameplay with the Nintendo Wii version:

Are we going to hit a video game burst similar to the one during the Atari days before Nintendo saved the day!? A little discussion on the news about Brandon Crisp. Tom East of officialnintendomagazine.co.uk has finally given in to festive temptations, making a blog of predictions as to what games will be number one sellers for the Wii and DS along with supporting reasons as to why.

"Like 12 million other people, I bought CoD4. I loved the game, and invested hundreds of hours of my time in it. When Call of Duty: World at War was announced I was thrilled, until I found out who was developing it. Unlike Infinity Ward, Treyarch (developers of the disastrous CoD3) cannot make a Call of Duty game. To get around this problematic issue, they decided to make CoD4 with a World War II skin. Now granted, this IS only the beta, but in truth, how much will change between now and N..."

"If truth be told, I made very little effort in securing a beta key for Call of Duty 5. I thought I would wait until the final game came out at the end of November and enjoy the experience then. Thanks must go to the nice lady at Activision who offered me one of only a few beta keys left. Suffice to say the last two evenings have seen me venture back to the shenanigans of World War 2 with aplomb."

"After registering at the official Call of Duty website, you'll get a special beta key. As noted previously, there's no limit on the amount of people in the beta so don't worry if the site's clogged right now. The unique keys are part of the new user database system that allows you to pick a unique user name, add friends to your list, and invite them to games."

No I ain't lyin' -- the latest Call of Duty game is now playable on yer PC (assuming it can run it), albeit only in multiplayer/beta form. The 845 MB download offers the same three levels as its 360 counterpart -- catch it via the source if you want a taste of Treyarch's next installment.

Tired of seeing the same old War based video games ... well, then this is not the story for you, because this is the ultimate in War based video games, by churning them out every time you hit reload.

"Multiplay, organisers of the largest UK electronic games festivals, have today announced that Activision will be attending i35 and showcasing Call of Duty: World at War, the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise, due out on EU store shelves on November 14th. i35 is a 1,300 player "bring your own computer" LAN party with over £20,000 in prizes up for grabs..."

"Seven bundles? Oh, Microsoft Europe weren't ever going to stop at "just" seven 360 bundles for the holiday season. We knew that when the eighth one hit. And now definitely know it with the ninth bundle, this time in a Call of Duty flavour. Included in the bundle is a 60GB Pro, a wireless controller and a copy of call of Duty: World At War. Not the most exciting bundle, then, but it's interesting to see an official pack-in of an adults-only game"

"The dogs of war are being unleashed today, as Activision and developer Treyarch announced the launch of the Multi-Player Beta for Call of Duty: World at War on the Xbox360. Console players can guarantee themselves a token by pre-ordering the game at UK GAME retail outlets, or online at http://www.game.co.uk/ (refer to GAME for more details). Call of Duty fans that register to become members at www.callofduty.com are also eligible to receive a token, but these tokens are limited in supply, so ..."

Game On Nintendo has their nine best games list for Christmas up for the Nintendo Wii!

What's the first thing that comes to mind? That Wii Music is on there of course, who let that in? It's also a bit of a surprise to see Sonic in there due to recent complaints from fans it's just not the same, maybe a sign of change?

Then you have you very obvious inclusions, such as Guitar Hero and Call of Duty. Wii Music is better though, right?

Finally there's some lesser known games, such as the...

If you're deciding to pre-order the FPS titled Call of Duty: World at War, do it at Game.co.uk because you will receive a beta code for doing so, which will lead to you getting bonus in-game content amongst other things!

There's also a little something extra for the 360 owners. Check it out at the source.

Earlier today, Activision - the publisher of Call of Duty: World at War - released a very cool 3D screenshot of the game, which is showing the flamethrower in action! In addition, you can rotate the image to check out the detailed environments and the secret bunker.

If you wanna see the screenie at its best, click here. In order to view it, you need to have QuickTime installed. The picture is in the source.

Look out for Call of Duty: World at War on November 11th.

"Animal Crossing: City Folk
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Release Date: November 16, 2008
Genre: Simulation

You can walk with the animals and talk with the animals all over again starting November 16, as Animal Crossing: City Folk updates Nintendo's stalwart "communication game" for a new hardware generation. Like Animal Crossing: Wild World before it, City Folk seeks to take the GameCube original Animal Crossing and enhance it with new graphics, features and characters. And, ..."

A new trailer for Call of Duty: World at War has been released today, showing off a little big of the co-op. I must say, the graphics look sexy. Even though a lot of people are unhappy about the game being set in World War II, the game looks like it'll easily turn that into joy.

After Activision made a whole lot of money off of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare last year, they want even more (can't blame them money=win); so they will have more DLC in Call of Duty: World at War. They said that "The average Call of Duty player has spent nearly five full 24-hour days of their lives online since purchasing the game", which is a lot of time, so they want to reach out to the online players with much more DLC.

And thought we'd seen the last of this back in the Bad Company scandal. Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith recently revealed that in the upcoming Call of Duty: World of War there will be something called a 'Day 1 Advantage'. Which he explained is a way to accelerate your experience points through payment. So those which have the cash will be at a higher level than you. Which I think personally is a disgusting business tactic.

"Activision and Treyarch have confirmed that the highly anticipated FPS Call of Duty: World at War will be released across North America on November 11, 2008.

Call of Duty: World at War returns to the familiar World War II setting depicted in the first three titles of the critically acclaimed FPS series, with the game set predominantly in the Pacific theatre and Eastern front of the conflict.

From what we’ve seen the game appears to be shaping up rather nicely, though it remains to be se..."

"While watching the demo I was mesmerized by the quality of the graphics, the smoothness of the gameplay and the depth of the experience. Later when I went to play the game out on the floor it was just as engrossing. The rich, dynamic environment coupled with the feeling of a massive battle raging around you really pulls you into the game and makes you forget about the world around you."

Yesterday, Micheal Phelps appeared on the Early Show and talked about his Olympic achievements, what he's doing now, and a lot more.

At the end of the interview, Phelps was presented with a early copy of CoD: WoW.. but inside the cover was just a "I O U" card. The host, Maggie Rodriguez, made it seem that a actual copy of the game was in there. I bet Phelps was pretty disappointed when he actually opened up the box.

Check out Phelps on the Early Show in the source.

"So far Call of Duty: World at War has been conspicuously elusive to any other release date than the broad time frame of autumn 2008. Though, at the X’08 event in Toronto (Xbox Canada’s holiday showcase) an Activision representative confirmed to us that Treyarch's latest endeavour with the Call of Duty franchise will be hitting sometime this November, no specific day was given."

We've all been wondering what games will contain Trophies, ever since they launched back a couple of months ago, and whilst only a few titles have been patched with trophies so far, how exactly does the future of Trophies and the Playstation 3 look? Well, ps3trophies.org decided to go to Leipzig to ask that question and they've got back a list of games that will include trophy support.

Activision has recently settled upon a contract with PureBalance, the creators of the anti-cheat software called PunkBuster. The software will be tied into CoD: World at War and will make sure no hacking or glitching occurs when the game is released and onward.

PunkBuster has also planted its roots in the Battlefield series, Crysis, and F.E.A.R.

The minimum system requirements to Call of Duty: World at War have been revealed.

CPU: AMD 64 3200+ / Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz +
Memory: 512MB (XP) or 1GB (Vista)
HD Space: 8GB
Graphical Card: Nvidia 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT or higher (Shader 3.0 or better) with 256MB memory

The game will be released on the Wii, Ps3, Xbox360, and PC.

"Call of Duty titles seem to be popping up faster than Saw sequals, and that is actually a scary thing. Though Modern Combat seemed to randomly be created and released, it was probably amongst the best in the series. So maybe a lot of Call of Duty games aren’t necessarily a bad thing, but let’s just hope they don’t start to lose any of the quality and fast paced entertainment that they are known and loved for."

"On his official blog, community manager Robert “402″ Bowling recently revealed that Infinity Ward has been hard at work on an all-new project following its contract renewal with publisher Activision. That’s not all though, as IW is also in the planning stages of development on a unique IP, one that the studio will have “complete control over” according to Bowling himself"
