Call of Juarez

"Today Ubisoft announced that it will publish Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood for the Xbox360, PLAYSTATION3 and Windows PC in 2009. Ubisoft is again teaming with Techland to develop Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, a prequel to the action shooter Call of Juarez."

"The Western-themed first-person shooter Call of Juarez arrived on the Xbox Live Marketplace today in the form of a Single Player demo. Weighing in at 709 MB, Call of Juarez was released on the 360 June 12th of this year by developer Techland. The game received above-average ratings, with the majority of scores 7 or above, and the most common complaint in regards to the stealth missions as the Billy character. All Xbox Live owners except those in the Asia or Mexico regions can download it now."

"Anyway, for all the things we've already praised, perhaps it's best to end on the game's tone: like a lot of grumpy Eastwoods, Juarez treads the line just West of parody with Ray's juxtaposition of gravely scripture one minute, and then little red circles with lines through them hovering over whiskey bottles the next. Being able to read the bible aloud to trick enemies into lowering their defences ought to be getting more press too - does anyone still have Manchester Cathedral's number? Overa..."

"Okay, not all Ubi games are winners (Charlie’s Angels anyone?) but generally speaking products emerging from the French wizards are usually right up there in terms of impressive aesthetics, well-rounded A.I., and immersive gameplay. So, let’s see how the critical masses have received Call of Juarez and its atmospheric slice of the Wild West on PC and Xbox 360."

"Call of Juarez is an epic adventure western themed FPS game. The game's plot is located in 19th century Wild West, with the player taking the roles of Billy, a sneaking fugitive, and the reverend Ray, the uncompromising bounty hunter on his trail. Fast paced revolver duels using historically accurate firearms, horseback riding and stealth action in memorable locations set after Western movies."
