"When compared to what’s available on the PS3 and X360, the selection of horror games on the Wii is undoubtedly slim. In fact, it’s easier to compile a top list from various consoles rather than exclusively picking them out for the Wii system. It’s not to say that horror addicts didn’t enjoy solid titles on the Wii like Dead Space: Extraction and House of the Dead 2 and 3 Returns. But there are also a few not so great titles like Alone in the Dark (no irony intended with the subject) and Ob..."
"While the controls are pretty solid and easy to get the hang of, the game is a very boring and uninspired affair. It makes some pretty weak attempts at scares, and the ghost fights require little more than mindless Wii-mote waggling."
"Overall, Hudson’s Calling is likely to be forgotten next week like so many other titles on the Wii. The sad thing is that with a little more time and polish, this game could have ranked up there with the Silent Hill and Fatal Frame series. Since Wii games published by anyone other than Nintendo since 2006 don’t make money, I can’t blame Hudson for shoving this one out the door."
"Hudson Entertainment is thrilled to announce that its upcoming Japanese-style horror-inspired game, "Calling", has gone gold and will be released on March 9, 2010 for the Wii entertainment system for a retail price of $39.99. "Calling" is published by Hudson Entertainment, the North and South American subsidiary of HUDSON SOFT."
"Calling is a much different type of game than the usual fare that Hudson has put out lately. It holds no reference to Bomberman and it isn't a mini-game collection. Instead, it is a survival horror game centered on a mysterious web site called the Black Page. The web site is rumored to have some connection to the Mnemonic Abyss, the space-between-space, and only certain people can actually see its contents."
Spawn Kill's Rebecca "Cuatro Chihuahuas" Quintana was able to get a demo copy of Hudson's upcoming survival horror game, Calling, for Nintendo Wii. If this is a game you've been curious about, read her full review for details on the control system, atmosphere, and more.
"Aside from the boring tutorials and the fact that the controls feel a little loose, Calling looks like a promisingly fun little game. The scares are so cheap and silly, but that's part of the charm. It's a classic Japanese horror game that doesn't apologize for throwing cliches at you. The idea of using the Wiimote like a cellphone is incredibly gimmicky, but again that is all part of the fun. It seems that Calling will be a perfect game for people who want some easy thrills and a good laugh ..."
The box-art for the upcoming horror game Calling has been revealed and is it just me, or does it look an awful lot like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories' box-art?

A few new screenshots are available for Hudson's upcoming horror title, Callling, for the Wii.
Players will explore Calling's world with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, using the former to control a flashlight they can use to explore their surroundings.
Integral to the gameplay is your cell phone, which can be used to listen to haunting messages, or recording various sounds or taking pictures (which, additionally, can be sent to the Wii message board).
Of course, what kind of horror game...
We haven't heard much about the upcoming Wii horror The Calling but finally a trailer has been released. One of the game's unique features is the ability to use the Wiimote as a cellphone in the game. It's like Fatal Frame, but with a phone instead of a camera!
"Konami has unveiled a terrifying new take on the Horror genre, in the form of Hudson Soft’s Calling for Wii. Using unique interaction elements, the Wii game features an innovative adventure concept and is driven by its terrifying story and many traps and mysteries. It will be distributed throughout Europe by Konami in early 2010."
