When Calling All Cars was released, the negative backlash drove David Jaffe to say some "non-family friendly" things about his critics, and eventually wound to him swearing off blogging for a month. However, hindsight being 20/20, Jaffe now acknowledges that his desire to try and recreate the feeling he had when he was playing games on the SNES in college may have led him to create a game that he now admits didn't have the legs for the 21st century gaming climate.

Whether they are awarding games on the high powered PS3, or the innovative and fast-selling DS, they have always looked at gameplay rather than graphics. Calling all Cars is a good example of this, winning an award for it's fun gameplay!

God of War series producer David Jaffe directed some sharp words to a "lame ass website that shall go unnamed" on his blog, after said site reportedly posted commentary regarding his decision to delay the release of Calling All Cars. Jaffe earlier confirmed in a NeoGAF discussion board posting that he would be pushing back the official release of his latest title, a downloadable game for the PlayStation Network, in order to fix bugs and address issues highlighted in pre-launch reviews.
