"So the big release season is just beginning, and those of you with deep wallets are rushing around pre-ordering every top game before each emerges onto store shelves.
"But what about those who can only afford maybe one or two new releases, or maybe none at all yet? There’s a global economic slowdown on after all.
"Well at OXCGN we’ve decided to put ourselves in the game Animus and go back in time to discover what titles we enjoyed this gen that you should be able to get for cheap (and..."
"With the pending release of Civilization V days away, we here at GameZone wanted to pay tribute to Sid Meier’s long-running series with a historical perspective as to how the series has grown over the years. Starting out as a PC affair, and growing into a spectacular brand that has attracted millions of would-be civilization creators through turn-based strategy action, let’s go back to where it all began…"
"The important thing with all these is that you have fun! Don't force yourself into that 30th turn of Mario Party if you don't want to, just take a break and come back later. And most importantly, have a happy Cinco de Mayo!!!"

Having been released in the UK back in June (on the exact same day as Metal Gear Solid 4), and in the US a month later, CivRev came under the spotlight by many a number of players for a shoddy online service, and some even didn't like the single player mode. However, 2K listened to all the bug reports and complaints, and got working to solve these, eventually coming up with the patches 1.10, 1.20 and 1.21. Whilst each patch fixed one small aspect of the game, the multiplayer mode got consider...

"I really want to nuke Athens.
I know it's possible. Hell, I've watched and rewatched the YouTube videos of the 14-year-olds who've done it in Sid Meier's new game, Civilization Revolution. The guttural roar of the ICBM taking off, the flare of the missile as it arcs slowly across the sky, the terrifying rumble in your Xbox 360 controller as the nuke pulverizes the target: It's awesome. I can't sleep until I've rained that sort of death on the world.
What the hell is wrong with me? There..."

"I have a new theory about the fall of the Roman Empire. Forget the fact that the Empire had expanded too far to be defendable, that the population had too many different cultures with its own agendas, that the army was made up of too many mercenaries, or that Roman society was only a consumer society, corrupt and morally bankrupt, too dependent on slaves and its living necessities from its vulnerable outer provinces instead of from itself.
Sure, it was the competition for scarce resource..."
A slim but good week for younger and older folks alike this time 'round. PC gamers get Devil May Cry 4, console owners get Civilization Revolution on everything but the Wii (it's already doing very well in reviews), and more youthful gamers should appreciate Wonder World Amusement Park and Carnival Games, while Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon is anticipated to be enjoyed by all.
On a related note, Devil May Cry is set to pop up on the PSP at some point in the future.
Each week GV brings you the lowdown of what's going down in 360 town, pointing you in the direction of the best demos, new games, and XBLA games. Drop in to find out what's hot and what's not!

"The publisher said today that it would be releasing a single- and multiplayer demo through Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network this Thursday. The demo will be available worldwide through Xbox Live at 2 a.m. local time, and go live on Thursday as part of Sony's weekly PSN update in North America. Take-Two expects to role out the PSN demo to its global audience later this year.
As for the demo's contents, players will be able to assume either Caesar's laurel wreath as the head of Rome or ..."
Those that have been hoping to get the game on the previous 3rd June 2007 should brace themselves - the game has been delayed till 8th July 2008 a whole four weeks... however this release date only effects those that will get the NTSC-Version (US/Canada).
In exchange for this delay, the US/Canada will be getting gifts-with-purchase as well as a competition being held in June which will make use of the demo that is being released in may/june.
This is most certainly one of my most anticipated games, and I've personally already pre-ordered it for delivery on the day of release. Civilization: Revolution will be bursting onto shelves on the 3rd and 6th of June for US/UK (respectively).
In the mean time, most of us PC players of the gamer are waiting to see if this game will live up to the hype, and so this preview brought to us by Game.tm is just the thing to help us decide if the game will do just that or not.
Sid Meier's latest game, Civilization Revolution, was put on indefinite hold for the Nintendo Wii. But the people doing the MTV Multiplayer blog has got in touch with programmer Scott Lewis to find out more.

With Civilisation Revolution revealed, to be the first Civilisation game to come onto a console since Civ 2 was released on the PSX, it's not a wonder as to why it's gotten many Civ Fans excited. But those that were planning to get it on the Wii were left slightly disappointed. Whilst the PS3, XBOX360 and NDS versions were slated to have a Spring 2008 release, the Wii version was "relagated" to the Fall Season.
The reason for this should, if anything, please gamers, because Firaxis progra...
