Crytek, most famous for the game Crysis and creating one hell of an engine is upset with what could be future German laws. Germany is about to outlaw even the production of violent games, which would leave Crytek either two options: outscource or leave the country. The law isn't official yet as a petition is in the works to block it from ever becoming official.

Today, we have aprox 15 new updates from the past week from the CryMod Community. We have put together an small description and the link to the entire mod and what they are doing. If you are interested in full modification of Crysis, Cry Warhead or simply add-on, maps, vehicles check it out.

Nothing huge to speak of this week, though a few things out of the ordinary have turned up, like Crysis: Maximum Edition, which houses the original Crysis, side-story Crysis Warhead, and the latter game's multiplayer mode Crysis Wars.

Besides that, Wii owners are treated to a remake of the solid platformer Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, and DS owners can experience the classic Jagged Alliance, a Fallout/Shadowrun-ish game which got its start on PC many years ago.

"In years past, NeoGAF has done their favorite moments in gaming, using only MS Paint to show you. Looking back at 2008 brings us some of the coolest moments, great memories that can look amusing to just plain epic, even when in Paint. I purposely left out the names of the games as half the fun is guessing (but if you can’t figure it out, right click and hit properties to see the file name where I put the game)."

"Today, 2nd January 2009, is the ninth day of Christmas. It may seem like Christmas is all but over-and-done with now, but Electronic Theatre are staying true to tradition and heading-on through those infamous twelve days! On this ninth day, The Twelve Games of Christmas enters its ninth edition, and today we run through the top-performing disc-based releases of September 2008. Hold onto your hats, it’s going to be bumpy from here-on out!"

"Looking for something to do during the holidays? EA and Crytek are teaming up to give the gift of gaming – in the form of ten free days of Crysis Wars, the new multiplayer suite for Crytek’s critically-acclaimed Crysis franchise and part of this fall’s Crysis Warhead. Crysis Wars will be free to play from December 19th through December 28th, and will include the Holiday Map Pack Crytek is releasing this week for existing Crysis Wars players..."

"We look at the top 12 games from several platforms in order to determine which are the Top 12 Overall Games for 2008, and you might just be surprised at the ‘overall’ winner for 2008 - coming from an Xbox site. OXCGN (aka XboxOZ360-gamer) has always maintained that the staff are “gamers” - not fanbois. Most have more than 2 consoles and platforms to play games on and simply enjoy ‘gaming’ period.

So what better way to round off the year than to take a look at what we believe to be the top ..."

"Crytek announced today that it has founded Crytek Ltd., a subsidiary company in Seoul. The South-Korean based office, led by gaming industry veteran Young Mok Park, started operations recently. While the review may be a tad bit late, EDGE-Online has finally looked over the FPS add-on to Crysis titled Crysis Warhead. They were very impressed with the game, noting that there is trouble where ever you go.

"Crysis Wars has 21 multiplayer maps in total and three game modes. In addition to evaluating the game itself, the Wars free trial will allow you to see how well your computer runs the Crysis games. Sure, you could just download the Crysis demo for that, but playing online is a good stress test for your system."

"The island shooter, Crysis Warhead, is basically a game that is fun to play. The story is not very deep, the game is not very long. But each moment you play is full of thrills and adrenaline pumping action, as this iteration of the Crysis Franchise completely ditches the slow pace of the original and throws you straight into the action every step of the way.

Crysis Warhead acts to fill in the gaps of the story of the original game. Instead of playing as the main protagonist from the origin..."

"“Our passion is making quality games. We put our heart and soul in every game and hope that our fans will enjoy them as well. For years, Crytek fans have been passionately supportive of our efforts and we appreciate all of your dedication.

We realize that copy protection and piracy is a very emotional and hotly debated topic. It is very hard to find a solution that fits both our needs. We need to make an effort to limit piracy but we do not want to limit the experience of our fans.

"I spoke with Crysis franchise producer Bernd Diemer, who explained the history behind the machine. ”When we started working on Warhead, we decided performance was a big issue,” he said. “So we said, ‘Guys, we’re going to build a PC which has a maximum price of six or seven hundred dollars, and it has to run Warhead in high spec at an average framerate of 30.’ We built that PC—Crytek in the Budapest office [where Warhead was developed]—and we put it in the middle of the studio, and every revie..."

While at the Games Convention in Leipzig, PCGH got a chance to play Crysis Warhead. They used a PC that contained Core 2 Extreme, 4GB of RAM, and a Geforce GTX 260 graphics card. PCGH noticed that the game was only running in DX 9 mode and that you weren't able to change any of the settings.
