"The Xbox 360 launched four years ago today in Europe, ushering in the current-generation of videogames consoles and putting a full stop in the life of the original Xbox. Only a handful of games for Microsoft’s first console made it to UK shores after 2nd December 2005, as the Xbox 360 began its life as the company’s definite priority."
"You have a brand new game that you can’t seem to tear yourself away from and you were having an absolute blast… until you became stuck on a frustrating boss battle that’s preventing you from moving on to the next level or completing the campaign. It’s driving you insane and you want to break your controller in half, but damn it, you’re not putting it down until you finally get past the bugger, even if takes you all night.
We’ve all been there. Here are a couple of examples of irritating bo..."
"Time for Part 2, finding ten 360 games you haven’t played but really should. It would be nice if there was no need to write articles like this and all great games got the attention they deserve, but a lot of the financial success of a game is reliant on their marketing budget.
This means if the game isn’t a sequel to an established franchise or isn’t being pimped at trade conventions (like the upcoming E3 for example) it will often be overlooked, so it shouldn’t be surprising that these la..."
Quite a release week, for PC gamers especially. First we get (finally) Dark Sector, initially planned for simultaneous release, then The Last Remnant, Battleforge..life's pretty good. Although we can't recommend you pick up Dark Sector as it contains that horrid Starforce DRM.
There isn't really much exclusive stuff (not a bad thing, really), with PS3, Xbox 360 and PC owners alike receiving Stormrise, Wanted, and Wheelman, with the latter two seeing Legends of Wrestlemania.
DS owners ca...
"The guys from The Games Company (TGC) have just announced that they're going to distribute the PC version of the game "Dark Sector". The product will in fact be shipped this summer to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Responsible for the PC porting of the game is Digital Extremes (which has developed the game for the next-gen consoles), worldwide known for its wide and important portfolio: in its reference titles we may find Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2003, Unreal Tourname..."
"Welcome to the fourth edition of The Twelve Games of Christmas; Electronic Theatres feature series highlighting the greatest performers of 2008, one month at a time! Today, we take a look at April 2008, the games that you liked, loved or missed altogether and can probably pick-up for a much more reasonable price in those January sales!"
"For those of you not yet familiar with the Unsung Heroes series, the rules are as follows; games eligible are those disc-based releases that Electronic Theatre feels have been underrated, undersold, or treated unfairly since launch. And for Xbox360 (along with every other system) were keeping it based strictly on titles that have seen UK launch. The positive reception weve received to the Unsung Heroes series has been very much appreciated..."
GameInformer, the popular magazine about all things gaming that has somewhere near three million subscribers, always has a different game on the cover each time. MTV wanted to see if there was a GI cover curse, so they looked back into the past and pulled out magazines from 2-3 years ago.
One game titled Superman Returns didn't so well, receiving 6/10's. That's nothing compared to Fear and Respect, which was at one point on a GI cover, but ended up being canceled!
All in all, the game...

All of the above games are banned for sale in Australia, casualties of our country's strict games classification system. While other forms of media (such as films and DVDs) have ratings..."

"Dark Sector was one of the first announced games for the PS3. After several major delays and revamps, Dark Sector has finally been released by Digital Extremes.
You are in control of Hayden, a reluctant CIA operative, sent into a near-future fictional country named Lasria in order to neutralize a man named Mezner, who is responsible for unleashing the mysterious biological agents which have ravaged the capital city of Lasria.
After a failed attempt to assassinate Mezner, you are subsequ..."
If you're an Aussie and you've been keeping up with the news for Dark Sector, you're not going to like this bit of news. The OFLC has chosen not to give the game a classification because it is a "violent and sometimes gruesome game with a sinister storyline and ominous outcome," which effectively prohibits the game from being sold in Australia. D3Publisher is yet to comment, but it's likely that the game will be edited and resubmitted to the OFLC in an attempt to obtain an MA15+ rating. Un...
"D3 Publisher of America has today announced that award-winning Hollywood actor Michael Rosenbaum is to lend his considerable vocal talents to core protagonist Hayden Tenno in upcoming sci-fi action extravaganza Dark Sector.
Rosenbaum is perhaps best know for his tormented performances as the dysfunctional (and distinctly bald headed) Lex Luthor on hit American television show Smallville, which charts the early years in the life of Superman."
"PSU: The motion sensing feature of the SIXAXIS controller surprised most developers when it was announced because most did not know about it. Was it with the same with vibration (DualShock 3) support, or have you known about it for some time?
Carter: One of the nice things about developing our own engine (Dark Sector is running on our Evolution Engine) is that we can easily plug-in new cool features like DualShock 3. We did get a heads up from Sony prior to the announcement, so I wouldn't..."
"You love demos. We love demos. Companies have slowly but surely started jumping on the playable bandwagon -- someone tell Factor 5 that might have been a good idea for Lair -- and D3 Publishing and Digital Extremes are the latest to toss in with Dark Sector.
At Games Convention 2007, the companies confirmed to 1UP that a Dark Sektor demo is currently in the works for both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live between October and November -- they're still confirming an exact date with Sony an..."
"D3Publisher of Europe Ltd. (D3PE), a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, has announced its highly anticipated Dark Sector title for PLAYSTATION®3 and Xbox 360 will be released across Europe on January 22nd, 2008.

"We recently received a ruling from the ESRB stating that the two officially released Dark Sector gameplay montages have been deemed to contain excessive or offensive content; and to this end are not to be available for download or viewing, regardless of being placed behind an age gate. In order to comply with this ruling, the ESRB has requested that the two Dark Sector gameplay montages be pulled immediately upon receipt of this notice and no longer made available for view by consumers."
"According to FiringSquad, Dark Sector, "the first ever next-gen game," has been delayed:
Originally scheduled for release this fall, a spokesperson for the game's publisher D3Publishing has now told FiringSquad, "We've decided to pull Dark Sector out of a very crowded holiday season and it is now slated for release in Q1 2008." The questions about the release date for the game began after retail sites like Gamestop showed a new Jan. 15 2008 release date for Dark Sector.
The "Coming Early..."
