Today the Official Dead Rising Facebook page posted that Frank West is packing for a new adventure and asked fans of the page what he would need for a trip to 'paradise'

"The new game, entitled Dead Rising: Off The Record is a brand new adventure and will release at full retail. That's right people, this is not DLC, it's a full game. The game is basically Dead Rising 2 told from the perspective of Frank West, taking place in the same locations as its predecessor. However there will be brand new locations in the mall, new crazy bosses to fight and a plethora of new moves and weapons to play around with."

Raptr analyzes one of the most interesting exchanges of gaming achievements between Capcom's Dead Rising series and Valve's Left 4 Dead. Both games require gamers to kill well over 53,000 zombies to earn a coveted achievement that only 2-4% have gotten. However after checking all the numbers on Raptr, another gaming franchise has entered into the mass zombie-killing achievement discussion as well.

"Some remakes just shouldn't have been made in the first place. If you ever have the chance, don't check out Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. Probably one of the worst remakes I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. A remake of the excellent 360 version, and built from the ground up for the Wii, Chop Till You Drop does everything wrong. The ability to take photographs was completely removed (which is odd, considering that the protagonist, Frank West, is a photographer...), the amount of zombie..."

"One of the most important events in the gaming calendar was dealt another blow today with publishing giant Capcom declining the chance to exhibit there.

And an official statement by Capcom shows that its absence from Gamescom is in part due to a controversial ban on action/horror title Dead Rising.

Capcom’s decision to skip Gamescom also comes after rival publisher Sega announced it won’t be attending the Cologne-based event."

The Passing DLC for Left 4 Dead 2, which was released today, features a hidden reference to another popular zombie apocalypse video game, Dead Rising.

Capcom's foray into the game-to-movie business might not have been well revieved with Resident Evil: Degeneration, but maybe they will have more luck with Dead Rising? Yep, Capcom have recently announced that they are making a live-action Dead Rising movie. See the trailer below...

"Frustrated at the tiny text on my standard television set, I initially shelved Capcom’s Dead Rising in 2006. A year later, equipped with a forty-some inch HD set, I tackled the dead, saved survivors, took some pictures, and finally knew what the hell I was doing. Dead Rising grabbed the consumer and screamed “HIGH DEF GAMING IS THE ONLY WAY TO PLAY!”"

"The Platinum Hits Triple Pack combines Dead Rising, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition and Devil May Cry 4 in one pack. "“Resident Evil 5” producer Jun Takeuchi had a quick and certain answer for me today when I asked him if undead Capcom franchises “Resident Evil” and “Dead Rising” will ever cross over: “No!”

Why can’t these zombies mix? “We can’t have a ‘Resident Evil’ character running around in just pants.” (Which, you know, is what goes on in “Dead Rising.”)"

"From “Resident Evil 5” producer Jun Takeuchi’s speech here at the DICE summit, are the 10 Commandments of Capcom Development, rules the he said birthed “Dead Rising” and “Lost Planet.”

"Videogames and violence go together like peanut butter and jelly. As any stoned out college boy can tell you, they complement each other perfectly and are twice as difficult to completely separate.

Efforts to remove any form of violence from video games have been met with scrutiny, scorn and downright failure. It cost Florida penal irritant Jack Thompson his career, his credibility and his ability to appear on television within five seconds of a bloody, national tragedy so he can blame it ..."
