"It’s rare gems like Dead Space on the iPhone 4 that really amaze and spark great interest in someone like myself.
When a title that is so graphically visceral on its console counter parts can offer almost the same level of detail and immersion on a mobile device, it’s pretty impressive.
Okay, so I lied: it doesn’t offer the ‘exact gaming experience’ as its console counterparts, but for a game on a mobile device that is mainly used to call, message and browse the internet, it certainly i..."
"Survival Horror, the genre that had us mowing through crazies in the early Alone in the Dark games, boxing with mutant bears in Ecstatica, and blowing zombies away in Resident Evil just had EA Redwood Shores crown it a new king.
If I were Yoda I'd say, "For more talk no need there is," and then proceed to force slap you silly until you play this game. And then I'd do a double somersault just to show you how much I mean business."
"Every enemy is placed in a perfect spot to terrify the players, and the sound effects and eerie music just add to the spine tingling atmosphere. Every corner you turn will have you on the edge, and the sense of despair will kick in when faced by hordes of Necromorphs too. Along with Mirrors Edge, EA have established Dead Space perfectly, hinting at a most probable sequel, which I am sure will go down well."
"The plot maintains a well drawn pace for the first two thirds of the title, stumbling towards a conclusion that is as hair-brained as that of its Science-Fiction inspiration, Event Horizon. But to say that its unexpected it to misinterpret..."
"This game is, in short, very well put together. Slick production on every level, music, sound, voice acting, lighting, everything. I don't think this game is a "Horror" game, though. I would say it falls more to the "Thriller" catagory. Sure there are several moments that you will jump at. You'll maybe even yelp like a little girl that just had a frog shoved in her face like an old 1930's sitcom. More so than that, though, is the overall sense of dread that you get as you turn every corner wi..."
Dead Space has quietly slipped in under the radar and surprised many. Touted as being significantly better than any Resident Evil game in the past, or present, Better than Doom III, and yet it managed to also slip under the radar of the OLFC in Australia with a MA15+ rating - what were they thinking!?
Slip over and check out the review and the several videos and high rez pics on offer, you'll not be disappointed.
We have seen many reviews for Dead Space, and most hail it as one of, if not THE scariest game ever. But why?
Popular Mechanics goes through 4 of the main reasons. Ranging from the Lighting and Shadows, Enemy Paths and AI, Real-Time actions, to the general chilling fearful atmosphere - Dead Space has all of the makings of a good typical survival-horror game, but it goes far beyond that.

"Players control Isaac Clarke, an engineer investigating a giant, seemingly abandoned spaceship. Naturally, Isaac and his team aren't alone on the ship - the crew has been turned into zombies bloodthirsty creatures known as Necromorphs. Isaac is then separated from his team and must fight off these Necromorphs while trying to find a way off the ship."
Whity has made another review today, and its on the brand new Dead Space. Whity expresses that this game stands out in the horror genre, and while not without its faluts, is definatly a worthwhile purchase.(or at least a rental) Hopefully this game wont go under the radar for most gamers.
Final Score: 8.9
(Disclaimer: Video contains cursing and gorish scenes from the game)
"I had a chance to travel to San Francisco to meet the team behind the game and explore the process that went into creating Dead Space, so I know that nothing about the game was effortless. This was one of EA's most focus-tested games, and the team described multiple times that developers butted heads with gamers over ease of use vs. the ability to go for the scares. The time they put in paid off, and luckily the team seems to have had almost complete freedom to chase its vision.
This is a ..."
"Fighting off the feeling that I had become a shut-in, I turned the lights off and started up Dead Space. So far so good, the intro UI is not scary. It is creepy but I am handling it. The score is eerie from the get go - brilliantly composed. So, into the introductory scene I go. It starts off with wonder and good excitement. After all, you are experiencing the majesty of space and mankind's achievements therein. Then, it all goes wrong, and from that point forward you are in for one hell of a..."
Here is GCHD's review of Dead Space. So this game is getting some pretty awesome reviews. They even went as far as to say it's one of this generation's best titles.
Another brand new review for Dead Space. This one is from PSW magazine. And not to much suprise, they praise the game and love. But what is a suprise is that the say its the "Worlds scariest game" and that it "topples the Resident Evil series from its survival horror throne". Is this game that good? The score sure says it is.
Final Score=9/10
The issue with the full review hits stores tomorrow.
"The first verdict for EA's impressive survival horror game is in - and the score should keep fans excited.
The latest Xbox World 360 mag, on shelves today, awards the survival horror game 91%, claiming that Resident Evil developer Capcom should take note, "Because EA can teach them a thing or three about survival horror."
Exploring the decks of the Ishimura is a "nail-biting experience," says the mag, driven forward by the "film-worthy" script and "inspired" setting. "It's Rapture in sp..."
