""Dead Space 2 is thoroughly faster paced and more exciting than its predecessor. Visceral have cut out all the unnecessary backtracking. Although this causes Dead Space 2 to be a linear journey, it's a hell of a ride to the finishing line. Dead Space 2 is explosive, exciting and easily on par with any big-budget blockbuster action flick. As Isaac makes his way through The Sprawl, he hangs upside down, falls down elevators, gets thrown into outer space, and fights his way down moving trains. ""

"NoobFeed wrote: Thankfully, Dead Space 2 gives us everything we loved about the original Dead Space while also including more varied environments, a more personal connection with the characters, and some nice throwbacks to the first title, but it doesn’t shake off all of its disadvantages."

Viseral Games really do live up to their name with this franchise. The second in the series certainly doesn't let up, but isn't just a simple ad-on or tidy-up of the first game.

Completely new game-world to get scared out of your wits in, and a great multiplayer experience as well.

"In 2008 gamers were introduced to a brand new survivor/horror game in Dead Space. It was unlike anything seen in a video game from the hideous monsters, to the creepy soundtrack and the unsettling environments. It set the bar for the survivor/horror genre. Despite a few setbacks it was still a great game. Three years later and we finally have the long-awaited sequel Dead Space 2. Is Issac Clarke’s second nightmare into space worth exploring? Read on to find out."

"GamingShogun.com writes: "Dead Space 2 takes place three years after the events of Dead Space. The game begins with Isaac Clarke being awakened inside the future-equivalent of a 'padded room' after another outbreak of necromorphs has occurred. Dead Space 2 on the Windows PC platform is a complete step above the first game's PC port. The controls are smooth and graphics can be pumped up quite a bit over its console brothers...""

"It's usually pretty easy for me to think of ways a developer could improve upon a game in its sequel. Such was not the case with the original Dead Space. The game improved upon the survival horror and over-the-shoulder combat systems of Resident Evil 4 while presenting a story that felt more like hard sci-fi than 'zombies in space'. The pace was measured and the puzzles were refreshing. It was one of my favorite games of 2008, but despite the cliffhanger ending I wasn't exactly holding my bre..."

"Dead Space was without doubt one of the best games of this current generation, the low budget meant that they had to exploit every trick in the book to create a game in which the fear of what was coming was far more terrifying than anything they could have produced on screen. The creepy dark corridors created an atmosphere of claustrophobic panic and the brilliant use of surround sound really made a game that was very uncomfortable to play. In fact I didn’t really enjoy it until I finished it..."

In two short years since Dead Space originally hit the market, modern day technology has allowed Dead Space 2 to become one of the most cutting edge games on the market. But they didn’t just stop with improved graphics. Dead Space 2 has figured out that it’s also the immersion and quick scares that makes a great survival horror game.

"The necromorphs swarm through the halls and crevices of The Sprawl with relentless brutality, shredding the populace and reconstructing the mutilated remnants into an army of deadly carcasses. Isaac Clarke, engineer and rare survivor of the Aegis VII incident, wakes in the psychiatric facility of the orbital station. He’s disoriented and bound in a straightjacket with no recollection of the past three years, but the violence around him is all too familiar."
