Hidden Path Entertainment announces today its acclaimed tower defense title Defense Grid: The Awakening will see its Xbox LIVE Arcade release on September 2. The game is said to appeal to players of all skill levels, in part due to its intuitive controls.

New to this version of the game is the Borderlands mission pack which includes four new levels for veterans, plus 12 challenge modes.

Defense Grid will sell for 800 MS Points ($10).
