Right now Diablo 3 is in a closed beta mode where the workers and other game testes are testing the beta. It will soon go into public beta mode which will allow a large amount of gamers from around the world to test out the game for beta purposes. Rumor from a blizzard insider is that they plan on doing the open beta starting some time in september.

According to a source that remains anonymous and is close to Blizzard, they revealed to BattleForums that most of the StarCraft 2 development will be delayed until Diablo III is good and ready.

Blizzard has not confirmed or denied this yet.
