Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

"For her, it's a matter of life or death.

Japanese film actress Keiko Awaji wants to play new Dragon Quest and pronto. Awaji, who has appeared in over 160 movies since 1949 including Akira Kurosawa's police noir Stray Dog, said this about DQ, "I won't live forever. I'd like to play two more games... I really want them to put out a new game once every two years." Don't we all Awaji-san, don't we all."

The games should start arriving this week at retailers Wednesday, September 17, and they should have a good truckload this time. Tons of stuff out to coincide with the fall season, and a nice bit of it is very promising. From Dragon Quest IV to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to Crysis Warhead to WAR to Rock Band 2, gamers won't have trouble finding their blockbuster title of choice, though the trouble may be in finding how many one can afford.

IGN got ahold of some new screens and info about yet another Dragon Quest title. This one will be out July 17 in Japan, so we can probably expect this one (hopefully) in time for the holiday season.

And in case you're confused, the DQ IV remake (also for DS) was released in Japan in November. Gamers here are still awaiting news on a local release, which should be soon. Dragon Quest IX is a brand new title for the DS which developer Level-5 has said it "hopes to finish work on the game some...

It's another zany sales week in Japan, with DS and Wii sales shooting through the roof in a Nintendo-dominated top ten, and some weird and disheartening PSP sales.

There was a flip-flop at the top of the rankings, as this week's top seller was last week's #2, Mario Party DS, selling 180k units. The #2 seller is last week's #1, Wii Fit, with 124k units sold. Rounding out the top five is the only non-DS/Wii game in the top ten, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3 - 116k - BD Version), Professor L...
