"The story is well written and cuts a clear path in localisation, much more so than most European PC titles with a similar budget. Entirely reliant on Fantasy cliché, Drakensang: The Dark Eye is stronger because of the preconceptions players have of the immediately recognisable characterisation. Though objectives are rarely open to player interpretation, the delivery is a constant source of encouragement through the game’s eighty-or-so-hour main quest."
"Eidos Interactive have confirmed today that Drakensang: The Dark Eye, published by DTP Entertainment and distributed by Eidos Interactive in the UK, will be released nationwide on 27th March 2009. Already a smash hit in Germany, where Drakensang: The Dark Eye (which translates as ‘Dragon song’) is a beautifully crafted, single-player Role-Playing Game (RPG) which offers a huge and engrossing Campaign plus an intuitive Combat System set within the mythical medieval world of Aventuria."
If you've ever caught yourself thinking, "I wish they'd come out with an RPG like they were in the old days..." then Drakensang: The Dark Eye might just be what you are looking for in a role-playing game. Based on a more old-school tactics-heavy style, Drakensang is based on the Realms of Arkania series from the 90's.
Spring and love and all that garbage are in the air, and with that kicks off a solid batch of games this week. The obvious blockbuster is Street Fighter IV, the fighting game for pretty much everyone, really, then the fabulous RTS Dawn of War II (the RTS even for people who don't play RTS), and two titles from equally reputable RPG series': Dragon Quest V and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
Bon semaine!
