Cult favorite SNES RPG Earthbound is one of the games constantly clamored for by fans for release on the Virtual Console. Perhaps, they'll get their wish.

It was discovered today that Earthbound has been rated by the ESRB for the Wii, with an E rating.

The question is, now, will it be the next Super Mario RPG/Shining Force II, or will it be one of the 200+ games available on the Virtual Console and actually release?

Only time will tell.
