Review: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

JayCat | June 24, 2008 | Reviews | XBOX 360  | views: 1338
"A buddy of mine plays this on PC, and after listening to him rave about ET:QW I couldn’t wait to try this out for myself. It had a lot of the things I like in an FPS game: lots of different toys, and lots of opportunity to really use some great tactics. My PC playing buddy plays as a generalist. He is aware of what is going on and changes his role on the fly in order to fill in the missing pieces. When he plays as an Engineer, for instance, he never, or rarely fires his weapon. He is too busy..."

IGN review of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars gives it 5.3/10 for PS3 and 6.1/10 for 360

Silver Mirror | May 28, 2008 | Reviews | Playstation 3 XBOX 360  | views: 2040
"Enemy Territory: Quake Wars first launched on the PC back in October of 2007 to solid critical reviews and fan support. Now it's time for the id Software franchise to bring its latest entry home to Xbox 360 and PS3, nearly eight months since first landing on store shelves. While multiplayer FPS fans are undoubtedly hoping for an extra coat of paint and added features to what will hopefully be a solid addition to the stable of online shooters, what they'll actually find is far less exciting.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - differences between platform versions

InnerDemon | April 19, 2008 | News | PC Playstation 3  | views: 2577
"Usually when a PC game is ported over to the both the Xbox 360 and PS3, one developer works on the game for both platforms.

Not so in the case of “Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars.”

Last month I saw a demo of “Enemy Territory: Quake Wars” on the Xbox 360. Ported from last year’s PC title, the Xbox 360 and the PS3 versions of the game will be out on May 27. Two different development teams worked on the ports — Nerve Software on the Xbox 360 and Underground Development (formerly Z-Axis) on the..."

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars goes gold

Strayfire | August 31, 2007 | News | PC  | views: 1571
"Back in 2003, we started exchanging design ideas with id Software for what started out as a fairly modest attempt to evolve the team-play in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Now, four years later, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars has officially gone GOLD! For those of you not familiar with the development term, going gold means that the retail game is complete, and that master DVDs have gone to manufacturing, and will then head to stores. This makes us especially proud, not just because of the incred..."

Enemy Territories Possibly Scheduled for This Summer

Jax06 | June 03, 2007 | News | PC Playstation 3  | views: 1129
"Activision's recent financial report suggests Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be with us by the end of summer.

In its outlook for the year ahead, the money paper states the game is due in the second quarter of fiscal 2008, which narrows it down to July, August, or September. This also falls in line with retail predictions saying late August.

Activision, however, is standing firm on id Software's guidelines that "it's finished when it's done".

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is in develo..."

First Impression - Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

Linkin Park Fan | April 23, 2007 | News | PC Playstation 3  | views: 1562
"Let's have another example. The GDF Covert Ops troop packs a sniper rifle (or a scoped assault rifle if you'd prefer, you brute you), smoke grenades and EMP grenades that knock out any Strogg deployable or vehicle for 30 seconds. If 30 seconds isn't long enough then you've got the option of getting up close and hacking. Covert Ops can also have a radar airlifted in that'll show up nearby Strogg on everyone's minimap and give Engineer-created turrets a helping hand. Best of all is the 3rd Eye ..."

"And no, it's not done yet. id Software's elusive Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is still in development by a trio of developers, including Nerve Software, Z-Axis and Splash Damage, each one catering to a different gaming platform (the PC, the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3). If you haven't heard the news yet, Quake Wars went multiplatform after id Software slapped buckaneers' hands for making them do it.

Splash Damage is responsible for the PC development side, and have been in cl..."
