Usually when a game gets ported from the PC to other consoles one developer takes charge. Ughh, not the case here. Since they are under two different producers, creative differences are to be expected.
One of the major differences is that the Xbox 360 will get two modes that aren't on either the PC or PS3 version: Training Mode and Campaign Mode. The 360 will also get a achievement list.(Of course)
The PC and PS3 version also have something different about them. They will be able to cycl...

"Back in 2003, we started exchanging design ideas with id Software for what started out as a fairly modest attempt to evolve the team-play in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Now, four years later, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars has officially gone GOLD! For those of you not familiar with the development term, going gold means that the retail game is complete, and that master DVDs have gone to manufacturing, and will then head to stores. This makes us especially proud, not just because of the incred..."
id Software and Activision have announced that Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be read on the PC by Setember 28th in Europe and October 2nd in America. The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are currently still in development.
In this encounter of the game you will find yourself defending again the alien Strogg in a multi-player shooter in aim for a new war for Earth. You can choose which side you play on, Human or Strogg with online and offline modes of course available.
"This is the moment you have been waiting for: id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead just announced the official release date for the PC version of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars during the id press conference at QuakeCon! Without further ado, here's the scoop: ETQW is slated to ship in North America on October 2, 2007, while Europeans will get their hands on it the Friday before (September 28). Mark your calendars, gentlemen!"
With QuakeCon 2007, Public Beta 2 for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars has just gone live. It includes a massive changelog from the first beta, so large that patching is out of the question and an entirely new client must be downloaded. Some of the changes include a new playable map with new objectives and vehicles, improvements upon textures and audio, and revised netcode. A developer blog of the changes can be found here.
25,000 more beta keys are now available with the onset of beta 2 for th...
Celebrate with glee or cower in fear as Activision announces the beta for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. If you're experiencing the former, good for you. If you're experiencing the latter, then you're concerned about the spread of multiplayer-only games that totally remove narrative motivation and a compelling storyline while looking for the same money. We're distinctly in the latter camp.
"One of the most respected and well-known game developers in the world, John Carmack hardly needs any introduction. Having mastered the skill of game programming, Carmack co-founded developer id Software, and has also worked on such classic series as Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein 3D."
At first, Activision was giving us the impression that Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (for PC, 360, and PS3) was going to be released during the second quarter of next year, but we are gladly pleased to hear that it may be released sometime this upcoming summer.
No official date has been announced, as the company is sticking with the "It'll be done when it's done" statement. Hopefully this will outcome in another great game for gamers to anticipate this summer.
Eurogamer tells that for a game which maxes out at eight players per team Quake Wars produces an unreal quantity of carnage. The havoc is relentless, it's cinematic, and it's largely due to two things.
Despite having big maps (which, thanks to Quake Wars' megatexture technology, run exceedingly smoothly) any fighting that's going on is almost always happening in the same area. This is because maps consist of strings of objectives that have to be taken one at a time. For example, Refinery,...
"And no, it's not done yet. id Software's elusive Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is still in development by a trio of developers, including Nerve Software, Z-Axis and Splash Damage, each one catering to a different gaming platform (the PC, the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3). If you haven't heard the news yet, Quake Wars went multiplatform after id Software slapped buckaneers' hands for making them do it.
Splash Damage is responsible for the PC development side, and have been in cl..."
