With fall releases in full swing the crew at Goozernation looks back to their ever growing backlog which includes games such as Red Dead Redemption, Fallout New Vegas, Goldeneye 007, Enslaved, Borderlands, Bulletstorm, LA Noire, and Metal Gear Solid 4. The bigger question here is how can a gamer find anytime to play this stuff and how did these games end up in the backlog?

Escort quests, something that has become insanely popular in games for the last two generations of consoles. Goozernation has put together a list of games with escort quests, include, ICO, Dead Rising, Resident Evil 4, and Enslaved, The problem here is there is no standard for games, most of the time the NPC is a useless burden and makes the game almost unplayable. Should developers due away with the escort missions? Should there be some sort of standard?

"2010 saw some pretty strong female characters step into the spotlight and show the world that that girls can play just as rough as the boys. Here are five of our favorites."

Ninja Theory's Enslaved has sold very poorly, only managing to move 460,000 units worldwide across two platforms. Namco Bandai, the publisher, hasn't given up hope on a sequel however.

As always we cover the week in gaming news, then chat about movies including The Fighter, Tron, and Harry Potter and the Long Movie Title Part One."

Pat talks about Limbo and the brand new Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam, David talks about his brand new PC, Civilization V, and the epiphany of playing Half Life 2 for the first time, Andy puts the bow on Enslaved, and Nick tortures himself by getting all the achievements in Alone in the Dark.

We also go over the mother lode of news from the VGAs, and we answer a user email decisively."

"Ninja Theory’s game leaves out some of the recognisable markers of the original story, but is thankfully no less enjoyable for it. There’s no Dragon-disguised-as-Horse, no demons, no overall journey to become a great immortal sage or collect scrolls. Monkey certainly can’t multiply himself or change into anything (except maybe from angry man who wants to kill Trip to an angry man who might be in love with Trip), but we do have the Cloud, the headband, the staff. We still have Pigsy and his le..."

"New screens have been released for the “Pigsy’s Perfect 10” premium DLC for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

The new assets showcase “Pigsy’s Perfect 10,” a new side story where players take on the role of Pigsy, the unforgettable character who was a non-playable ally from the main game."

"Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is one of those nice surprises you didn’t see coming. It appeared at the top of my review pile in a shinny case that I knew nothing about. Going in with a blank slate, the opening cinematic confused me. I had no idea what was going on, only to become more confused when the shirtless protagonist began jumping around a plummeting airship. At that point it seemed appropriate to consult Google, where I learnt that Enslaved is loosely based on “Journey to the West” -..."

"The basis for the story in Enslaved is the ancient Chinese text Journey to the West, but what might have been a fantasy story was translated into science fiction by Ninja Theory. “Games often take obvious roots, like Lord of the Rings for anything that involves dungeons and wizards, Aliens for anything with Space Marines, and Mad Max 2 if it’s post-apocalyptic,” Antonaides said. The ancient Chinese story was “a new source of Fantasy for the west.”"

"Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is one of those games that has impressed and intrigued audiences everytime it’s shown it’s gorgeous face. After months of anticipation, Enslaved is finally here and Jeremy chats about this exciting title and throws out some opinions about Ninja Theory’s latest adventure in this week’s episode of Level Up."

"Enslaved was first revealed by a Game Informer cover, a few screens, some concept art and very scarce details regarding the plot. That information was enough however, to build an epic adventure in my head and set myself up for potential disappointment. I am glad to say that Enslaved did not disappoint in the least and fully delivered on its promise. The game has some of the best animation in any video game to date, a stunning visual style and a story which is second to none. A few control iss..."

"Our story begins on a crashing ship in a post apocalyptic world. Girl breaks out, boy breaks out, girl crashes ship, boy chases girl, girl fires an escape pod with boy clinging for dear life on the outside, girl enslaves boy and forces him into servitude. Fairly standard tale."

"Enslaved is an epic Science fiction adventure set in post apocalyptic America 200 years from now. Co-written by Tameem Antoniades and Alex Garland (The beach and 28 days later) the story line is as good as anything Hollywood can produce. With huge dramatic cut scenes directed by Andy Serkis (of lord of the rings fame) this enters the blockbuster category."

All Age Gaming's John Elliott takes a look at Namco's newest offering, Enslaved: Odyssey To The West. Being touted as "similar" to Uncharted 2, does it achieve the standard of greatness that Naughty Dogs game did? Read on to find out.

"When I first saw the initial advertising for Namco Bandai and Ninja Theory’s Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, I thought that it would be just another story about two beautiful people frolicking in the jungle — madly in love and on the run. Boy was I wrong."

A big week for new Games releases. October 5th brings the head to head confrontation of two heavy weights with Castlevania vs Enslaved. Find out all the new releases here!

"Namco Bandai Games has released new screenshots and gameplay video showcasing the DLC costume packs for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Customers who purchase the game from select retailers can receive a DLC pack that boosts the final retail gameplay experience."

"Namco has announced that Enslaved: Odyssey to the West has gone gold for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Featuring influences and contributions from top music and film industry talent, Enslaved combines beautifully rendered graphics and captivating music with seamless animation and engrossing gameplay."

"Much like another upcoming Namco-Bandai game, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, Enslaved mixes combat with puzzle-solving and exploration while letting the player control two protagonists throughout the adventure."

""The game looks really cool, the art style is gorgeous, and the combat felt solid. Of course it may become old after a while, but each battle felt pretty invigorating in the fifteen minutes I spent with the game; I think the dynamic camera was a big contributer to that feeling.""

"A Namco Bandai representative has confirmed to GamerZines that Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will release in the UK on October 8th on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Up until now the Uncharted-alike action/adventure game had only been given an 'October 2010' release window."

The official box arts for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West have been revealed by Namco. The Playstation 3 and XBox 360 action game will be released this fall.

"The Second part of our 'What the F&%k' of the week, is going to go to Games Workshop. Anyone that doesn't know who Games Workshopis they are the makers of Warhammer, they and uhh, Mythic make the Warhammer 40,000 game. But Games Workshop started primarily with the tabletop Warhammer. But they have filed a lawsuit against Curse a company who operates WarhammerAlliance.com which is a fan site and general gaming news site. They are suing them for trademark infringement, cybersquating and unfair ..."

"It's 150 years in the future and mankind has just emerged from a devastating series of conflicts that pushed humanity to the brink of extinction. Viral warfare and drones made soldiers obsolete as the war machine marched on long after society crumbled. This is the post-apocalyptic setting for Enslaved, but you shouldn't expect to see a drab grey and brown desert world. In fact, it all looks quite lovely, filled with life and bright pastel colors.

Without human interference and exploitatio..."

"Eurogamer: Are there any online plans for the game?

Tameem Antoniades: Enslaved is meant to be a story-driven, single-player experience so we do not have plans for online multiplayer type functionality in the game. However, we do have plans for DLC, which we'll be discussing more in the future.

Eurogamer: Monkey and Trip start on a slave ship. Will they spend much time there or is the escape out of our hands and the story already begun?

Tameem Antoniades: Without giving away too much..."

Ninja Theory, the developers behind Heavenly Sword, have revealed their brand new game in the latest Game Informer. The game is called Enslaved and will be a multiplatform game.

"Okay fellas, here's the impressions I have (so far) from "Enslaved"

1) 150 years in the future. Awesome. Giant mechanical airships in the sky. Main character has a "headband" that will blow up if you don't follow mysterious chick who walked into your life!

2) Facial expression system from HS being applied to the body this time. Andy Serkis voices main character named "Monkey", and responsible for CASTING.

3) Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine) doing the dialogue.

4) No co-op, b..."
