EVE Online: Exodus

"The big release season is in full swing, and those of you with deep wallets are busy playing the huge number of quality games on offer.
But what about those who can only afford maybe one or two new releases, or maybe none at all yet? There’s a global economic slowdown on after all.

Well at OXCGN we’ve decided to put ourselves a second time in the game Animus and go back in time to discover what titles we enjoyed this gen that you should be able to get for cheap (and still play the multip..."

"EVE Online is famous for its stories of theft, underhanded dealings, criminal empires and general unscrupulous play. For EVE players this is generally an accepted part of the game and part of the risk players run. The type of scheme might be old, but the profits were big in the latest EVE Online scam that has broken records and is now being called the biggest scam in the game's history."

"People by themselves are generally good-natured, well-mannered, and easy to handle, but for some reason when one becomes many, things get a bit out of hand. That is exactly what the Icelandic developer of EVE Online, CCP, is experiencing at the moment. After a few less than positive appearances in the mainstream media, community aggression is causing some of the staff to buckle under the pressure."

"EVE online, the popular sci-fi MMO, is getting a new expansion today. EVE Online: Incarna 1.0 will add 3D avatars to the game, help beginner players with a new tutorial system, and speed up the game itself with new CarbonIO technology."

"No sooner did David and Pat heal from their ailments than Andy and Nick are stricken ill. Yet the whole crew manages to blast through this magickal podcast. EVE Online is an amazing example of art imitating life. The player-run economy is, perhaps, one of the worlds last true free-market systems. EVE Online itself is a space-based MMO where thousands of players co-exist on one server. The newsletter chronicles the current state of the economy's affairs, including total players/ship/item counts, cash-flow, and even a 'primary producer index'.

"“I envision this council being made up of nine members selected by the players themselves, where you announce your candidacy, and if you win the election, they come here to Iceland, and they can look at every nook and cranny and get to see that we are here to run this company on a professional basis,” said Mr. Petursson, CCP’s chief executive. “They can see that we did not make this game to win it.”"
