"The big release season is in full swing, and those of you with deep wallets are busy playing the huge number of quality games on offer.
But what about those who can only afford maybe one or two new releases, or maybe none at all yet? There’s a global economic slowdown on after all.
Well at OXCGN we’ve decided to put ourselves a second time in the game Animus and go back in time to discover what titles we enjoyed this gen that you should be able to get for cheap (and still play the multip..."
"EVE online, the popular sci-fi MMO, is getting a new expansion today. EVE Online: Incarna 1.0 will add 3D avatars to the game, help beginner players with a new tutorial system, and speed up the game itself with new CarbonIO technology."
"In quite one of the most ludicrous cases of overpriced DLC I have ever heard, popular MMO EVE Online has released some new DLC with an absolutely staggering price point. Let's just say blouses are going for $25, skirts for $20 and space monocles are retailing at a whopping $68 in price. Quite why you would shell out so much money on downloadable content so highly priced (particularly when its clothing) is quite beyond me, but I'm sure there's someone out there who would buy it."
Internet hacking group LulzSec has some new targets today, as they have brought down the Eve Online, Minecraft, and League of Legends login servers. Story is still unfolding.
EVE Online is arguably the most successful space simulation game out there and it has a hardcore fanbase. Even though there will be arguments about it, today CCP introduced the new Captain's Quarters feature for EVE Online. A feature that might change the shape of its gameplay.
"Although one and a half members are missing for this cast, it still goes pretty well while we talk about Little Big Planet 2, Enslaved, Vanquish, Gran Turismo 5, Mafia 2, Resonance of Fate, Gal Gun, and Eve Online.
As always we cover the week in gaming news, then chat about movies including The Fighter, Tron, and Harry Potter and the Long Movie Title Part One."
GameZone's Michael Lafferty weighs the good and bad of playing an MMO solo and with friends. Is the massively-multiplayer online genre going the way of solo affairs?
What does EVE Online's new expansion, Tyrannis, mean for the future of CCP games? And how does it tie into their upcoming MMO, DUST 514. Bronte at Explicit | Gamer takes a look!

EVE Online is a game that gets talked bad about for several issues, and its marketing doesn't do the best job of portraying what it really is. However, if you give it a try, you'll find a game that is actually quite interesting.
The next chapter in the EVE Universe will be released in March and is to be called Apocrypha. Amongst numerous other enhancements will be the addition of so-called 'epic' missions that will be delivered by agents as well as new areas to explore and technology to acquire. EVE Online is a space-based MMORPG developed by CCP (based in Iceland). It is well-known for its high learning curve and open economic model.
""The generosity of The Camarilla continues to amaze us. It's entirely to their credit that this donation was made possible, said Val Massey, Senior Director of Public Relations and Communication, CCP. Get-Well Gamers is such a worthy cause and we are in awe of their tireless efforts to bring some much-needed fun to young people who need it most. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to act as a conduit to connect these two incredible groups."
Given the recent economic climate, especia..."

This week on Zero Punctuation, Yahtzee tries the MMORPG Eve Online.
His complaints include the pointless character creation, slow transport, pointless ways of gathering experience, and how it is just downright bland.
Enjoy.
EVE Online is an amazing example of art imitating life. The player-run economy is, perhaps, one of the worlds last true free-market systems. EVE Online itself is a space-based MMO where thousands of players co-exist on one server. The newsletter chronicles the current state of the economy's affairs, including total players/ship/item counts, cash-flow, and even a 'primary producer index'.
"I envision this council being made up of nine members selected by the players themselves, where you announce your candidacy, and if you win the election, they come here to Iceland, and they can look at every nook and cranny and get to see that we are here to run this company on a professional basis, said Mr. Petursson, CCPs chief executive. They can see that we did not make this game to win it."
