Cassidee Moser of Leviathyn.com delves into morality in gaming. Good vs. Evil. Paragon vs. Renegade. Light vs. Dark. Whatever you call it, your decision in games that allow it tells a lot about you.

The second installment in a weekly series examining different methods of storytelling used in video games. This week we are looking at the increasingly popular trend of player choice.
"The grand adventure that is Fable has never really turned out to be that grand at all. Three games into the series and I’m still waiting for the RPG experience of a lifetime Peter Molyneux keeps promising me. Maybe he should stop posing for Turtleneck Monthly every chance he gets and check in on the development of his series."
MP1st describes how some multiplayer games have become so cosmetic in nature, it's almost as if most gamers are playing with barbies. Are you just as guilty?
Peter Molyneux has admitted in an interview that Fable III fell short of his expectations, citing a shift away from a standard leveling system as one of the main reasons.
"The first and cheapest pack is also, not surprisingly, the shortest. The premise is simple: a factory owner in Bowerstone Industrial is hearing voices in his factory, and he enlists you, the King (or Queen), to investigate. The search immediately leads underground to a hidden city called Understone."
Demos for the upcoming RPG Dungeon Siege III and the already released Fable III were released onto the Xbox LIVE Marketplace today for download. The Dungeon Siege III demo will also be available on PS3 next week.
Some great songs for the next time you visit any fantasy world. This is for anyone who is a fan of High-Fantasy RPG's, Action games and Strategy games.
Morality has become the gaming theme of this generation. Black, and White, Good vs. Evil with some choices doing nothing to impact the long term plot. Gamers have experienced morality in games such as Fallout 3, Mass Effect, GTA IV, Bioshock as well as several others. Goozernation takes a look at the bigger questions and asks is morality really needed? Why do gamers always have to make a choice with consequences?
Fable III is coming to a PC near you, and in a shrewd marketing move, Lionhead Studios will also offfer the game via Steam. So what differences does the game offer on the PC version?

3D technology may still be in it's infancy, and truth be told, not too many 3D offerings have blown people's sock's off. Fable 3, however, is one of the few...
By most accounts, Fable 3 failed to live up to the expectations of its predecessor. Today, Lionhead gave the system requirements and also spoke about how the console and PC versions differ. Check out the full story.
"When considering your favorite games, it’s all too easy to ignore the people behind them in favor of a title’s own merits. But video games are the culmination of years of work by dozens and hundreds of people. It’s rare that a single person will be credited with the creation or popularization of an entire genre or franchise, but when it does happen, those names tend to stick with us. We pay attention to what they’re doing, and their projects generate more hype than they generally know what to..."
"With a rock-steady online following and a much more impressive game library than they had in the last console generation, Microsoft has been doing quite well for itself the last few years. Though the Wii still reigns in sales, and the PS3 is steadily catching up, the Xbox 360 has held its ground like a Spartan II facing an army of suicide grunts. What many people see as a superior selection of exclusive franchises has helped it maintain a steady spot in the hearts of hardcore and casual gamer..."
There are good drunk and bad drunk. Though it's obvious that there's more bad drunks. Look at these top eight characters as they get loaded with liquor. Don't worry, these virtual characters can't die from intoxication.
It’s always fun to check out what those crazy fans on the Internet decide to make next. Here, we see screen shots of a retro-inspired, 8-bit “de-make” of the popular game, Fable. Maybe if there’s enough buzz, we’ll see a full playable version.
Fable 3 was a major disappointment for the general audience in 2010. It seems that we will finally have an opportunity to tell Lionhead what we want in Fable 4. Check out the full story. Cheers!
"Frankly, 2010 was a pretty big year for gaming. Kinect and the Move opened the door to motion sensitive gaming for Microsoft and Sony respectively (though neither of which are on the list), and we experienced some amazing sequels as well as some brand new titles. We wanted to share what we think you should dash down to your store for if you find it's missing from your collection."
The best-selling video game software (including platform breakdowns), accessories and consoles SKUs on the online mega store, Amazon.com, for the busy month of November.
"Lionhead seems attached to this idea of being able to interact with every person in the world, but by offering this level of freedom they essentially shoot themselves in the foot because what they can’t provide is a unique personality for every NPC. Albion’s inhabitants are uniformly bland, uninteresting characters, who will fall in love with you after two conversations, then agree to marry you if you go and pick up their laundry from the dry cleaners. The Expression system makes this whole..."
"The thing about Fables I and II was that you never really felt a human connection, and emotional pull towards anyone, or any type of loyalty. Of course Fable gave you the option to marry and have children; however all the characters you could marry were flat, one dimensional, cardboard cutouts that could easily be replaced by the next guy or gal."
Microsoft has revealed the first screens for the upcoming downloadable expansion for Fable III, the Understone Quest Pack, which will be released on November 23rd.
"VIDEO game reviewers just aren't doing their job properly.
It seems every video game with a decent budget is worthy of a score between 8 and 9.5 when it comes to yourfavouritegamingsite.com

Fable II broke my heart. But this year, upon the release of Fable III, I decided that I owed it to Peter Molyneux to give him another chance.
After all, he's a bit of a genius. And who can begrudge a restless genius a few failed ventures? Certainly not I.
This turned out to be a very bad..."
Complete guide to Fable 3. Covers the main story and all the sidequests. Seperate pages include all the collectibles in the game (books, keys etc...) All the Gnomes are spotted to so you can more easily find them.
"The Garden Gnomes, which come alive during a quest and become scattered all over Albion, replace the gargoyles from the previous game. They're just as insulting as their predecessors (perhaps even more so) and will spew out comments at your character until you shoot them in the face. The comments are usually witty, obscure and generally always will give you a titter. My personal favourite would have to be, 'Those are nice shoes. But aren't your gran's* feet cold?'. Funny stuff."
"We discuss Fable 3, Killzone 3 multiplayer beta, Vanquish, Borderlands: Claptrap's New Robot Revolution DLC, and more.
In non-game discussion Andy talks about a super good book that he totally digs, David and Pat confess their love for The Walking Dead, and Nick chimes in here and there. We also answer a user question from our relentless rooter Ryan."
OXCGN's younger reviewer has been plodding along with the latest iteration of the Fable series, and it seems to have caught his attention somewhat.
While some have had mixed feelings about the game, some simply love it. Sure it may well have it's negatives, but what game today doesn't.
Slip over, take a look, some nice pics and a few vids to help you while you check out the full review.
With all the trending topics of hate Fable 3 has been victimized of as of late, one can only imagine if Fable 3 is really as bad as the complaints it has received.
For the month of October, Halo: Reach held the number one spot on gaming social platform Raptr's gametime rankings. However, Fable 3 has jumped up to the top spot in rankings tallied from last week's stats. An even bigger question remains for next week, when Halo: Reach's appeal gets a serious contender with the much-anticipated release of Call of Duty: Black Ops.
"We lament missing the opportunity to have our 31st episode on Halloween, but make up for it with a bag-full (sorry) of games including Fable 3, Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare, Star Wars Force Unleashed 2, Super Meat Boy, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit demo, Hydro Thunder Hurricane Tempest Pack, Pinball FX 2, and still more Halo Reach!
Andy's Book Club makes its return as does Pat's Movie Club. We also manage to answer a user question, and refrain from eating candy whilst recording.

"Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Will you be able to resist the temptation to turn into a tyrant when you are given free reign in the latest Fable?
Fifty years have passed since Fable II and things in Albion have taken a turn for the worst. One of the offspring’s from the hero you took to the throne in Fable II has taken his seat on the throne and now rules with an iron fist. The industrial revolution is well under way but along with it the quality of life for the citiz..."
"With the upcoming October release of Fable III looming near – next week, everyone, next week!! – I decided to give a rundown on the preordering exclusives you can find at various stores. Because who doesn’t want the freebies that you can’t get anywhere else?!"
"The gripping trailer, “Revolution,” takes you from the depths of rebellion to the birth of revolution in Albion as you take the lead in overthrowing the tyrant king Logan. Sounding the call-to-arms against oppressive rule and negotiating strategic partnerships with the different clans of Albion, the Hero and his fellow revolutionaries rise up to seize the throne. "We all love our achievements, and we all love to customize our houses in Fable. After the release of the second Fable we got a lot of feedback and wishes from gamers around the globe on how they wanted the feature improved. In Fable III the housing customisation has been taken to a new level, with the help of your butler Jasper or without but if you want that "Magnate Personality" and "Remodelling" achievements (see here for the full list, but avoid if you don't like to be spoiled) then take ..."

Well, you're in luck, here is a video of Ted Timmins unboxing the Limited Collector's Edition.
"The action in FABLE: THE BALVERINE ORDER takes place between Fable II and Fable III. The days of magic and adventure are fading away, giving way to the age of industry and science. As the aged last Hero sits upon the throne of Albion, two friends—the privileged Thomas and his loyal servant, John—set out for the East in search of a legendary beast: the vicious, rarely-seen balverine. But their desire for adventure may be their ultimate undoing—because their quarry has just found them."
It looks like Fable III is shaping up to be what every man knows is the worst part of marriage: the possibility of divorce and the loss of half your assets. Well, jokes aside, Peter Molyneux talks about his inspirations behind Fable III, the realism of the setting and his desire to give the public a whole new perspective of how heavy the crown sits on one's head.
The first Fable game back on the original Xbox won over the hearts of many gamers, both hardcore and casual alike. The Lost Chapters extended this love of the great action-RPG, and won over many PC gamers too. But the second game in the series, Fable II, failed to achieve as great a following as the original due to some major changes in style. While it still got some great review scores and good sales, a lot of people were disappointed. Come this October, will Fable III take RPG games to new ...
The Entertainment Software Rating Board has released a rating summary for the Xbox 360 version of the upcoming role-playing game from Peter Molyneux, Fable III.

"Bad news for fans of the Fable series who just happen to be PC owners as Microsoft and Lionhead Studios have confirmed that the game has been delayed. The Xbox 360 version is still on track for an October 26, 2010 release but a new date for the PC release is still up in the air."
"Microsoft and Lionhead Studios are giving you a chance to create your own villager to be used in Fable III. The application is a further incentive to pre-order the game as those that do will get to see their creation in-game and will be offered a unique quest and 1,000 gold."
"Creating a truly reactive gaming world where choices have nuanced consequences over and above mere 'good guy-bad guy' simplicity is a very tough task. Peter Molyneux, creative supremo at Lionhead Studios, has never shied away from a challenge, but Fable III could be his biggest. The gaming veteran wants the third trip to Albion to offer an immersive open world experience that will appeal to hardcore gamers and the masses. Not only that, he also wants the action role playing game not to featur..."
"The video game industry has constantly increased its presence at the yearly Comic-Con and this year's 40th edition is no exception. Microsoft alone is coming heavy with some of its biggest Xbox 360 franchises this year with panels and playable demos for Halo: Reach, Gears of War III, Fable III, Kinect and more."
Nothing like some good ole British humor in a game. Oh wait, is directly farting into someone's face British humor, American humor, or just universal humor?
"Finally shown at E3 this year - the game has mighty impressive visuals and impressive environments. Of course, the gameplay has been improved. In fact, it's so much better than any Fable game you've played in the past for one and only one reason: farts."
RPG Gamers might just be truly lucky this E3 in regards to a leak about the Fable III co-op mode. Hopefully this feature will fully pan out to make up for Fable II's lackluster co-op mode
"On this episode of onTopic Andreas, Craig and Ronnie discuss the Microsoft E3 press conference (Kinect, Fable 3, Black Ops mad MGS Rising) Ubisoft press conference (Child of Eden, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Ghost Recon and Driver) along with the EA press conference (Bad Company 2, Medal of Honer and Sims 3.)"
So many games can generate more turnover in less hours than many of the major blockbusters. So why is it that the average person knows very little of the ppl behind such endeavours. The brains and creative talent that turns a concept into reality without the use of real-world sets or actors as they normally would be used.
Come check out the neat article, especially with E3 just around the corner, and also have a stab at the quiz to test you gaming celebrity knowledge.

"Last year, Microsoft debuted Project Natal, a control scheme that aimed to eliminate the need for a conventional controller and add a new level of interactivity to gaming. Instead of being shown off at the traditional press conference, Microsoft is holding a special event, complete with a performance by Cirque du Soleil, the day before their conference exclusively to show off Natal. This is where we’ll find out the big information that everyone’s been waiting for since last year: launch date,..."
"After the original Fable was released for both the Xbox and Windows PC, Fable II took a break from the PC world and was available only on the Xbox 360. It has been rumored but now Microsoft has officially announced that Fable III is not only coming to the Xbox 360 but the PC as well. The console version will also offer a Limited Collector’s Edition."
Microsoft has officially announced that Fable III will be coming to the PC. We can now put all the rumors to rest when Microsoft revealed the box art of the game and it showed for Xbox 360 and Windows. A smart move on Microsoft's part.
"In comparison Fable 2’s box art featured the words ‘Only on Xbox 360’ when the game went on sale in October 2008.
Microsoft also reportedly advertised a job position for a Fable 3 network programmer earlier this year before removing it once reported. The ad said the responsibilities were “converting and maintaining network code of the Xbox 360 version of this game to the PC.”"
The official box art for Fable III, which was recently revealed, may be hinting at a possible Windows PC version of the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive RPG.
With 2010 shaping up to be the biggest in gaming history, John from All Age Gaming sat down and compiled a list of the Top 10 games in the second half of 2010 (1st July to 31st December 2010). What a year this has already been and its only getting better!
Despite saying that he has "learned his lesson about overpromising," Peter Molyneux recently revealed to IGN that Fable III has the greatest voice cast of any video game.
We'll hold you to that, Peter!
"Fable III is set for release later this year exclusively on Xbox 360, and information about the title has been drip-fed to the public since it’s unveiling back in August last year. More information is expected to arrive at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June, but for now, we can all least take solace in the fact that production seems to remain on schedule, as apparently Ross will begin recording his role next week."
"Lionhead Studio’s Peter Molyneux has long been suggested as a strong supporter of Microsoft’s forthcoming Project Natal. Having created the most talked about software for the device’s unveiling at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) last year, and again wowing the crowds with the revelation of fresh details of the intended integration with the highly-anticipated Fable III and this week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), Molyneux is certainly proving to be a driving force behind Microsoft’..."
"Recent comments from Peter Molyneux at GDC have offered gamers another slither of hope that Fable is returning to the PC.
"I can say, mystically, that I love the PC." Stated Lionhead's glorious leader at GDC, "I love what's happening to the PC, and I would love to see the Fable franchise on the PC."
Obviously this isn't any sort of confirmation that the Microsoft owned studio will be developing for anything other than the 360, but at least it shows that Lionhead are still serious about ..."
The second batch of Fable III screenshots have arrived, these ones from GDC. They're mainly environmental, and look pretty nice, though we get a character shot and one of some skeleton dudes.
"Following the confirmation that development of Lionhead Studio’s Fable III is running on schedule for its’ intended release late in 2010, the development team has released another brand new screenshots. Just the one, mind. Wouldn’t want to get you too excited now, would they?"
"The tale of Fable III is one of heroism, leadership and consequence. Your journey to rule the throne of Albion begins five decades after the events of the last chapter, playing as the child of your hero from Fable II. As you rule your kingdom as king or queen, you will be called upon to make choices and sacrifices that will test your morality and can affect your entire kingdom. The consequences of your actions are taken to a grand scale as you fight to unite a divided people."

Peter Molyneux clarifies his comment he made earlier this month about the new features in upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive title, Fable III, angering fans.
A great episode of The Bender this week. Intern Elissa joins us again (and again, speaks on Final Fantasy). James gives us a taste of his Mass Effect 2 review, as does Richard with Bioshock 2. Mike hates on IGN. All this and so much more, enjoy!

Peter Molyneux unveiled new Fable III features including the new touch system which allows you to.. touch other characters.. for better or for worse.
Other features announced include new ways the character will morph and... “Look at the screen! It’s completely clean! Why do we need the *bleep*ing health bar?” no HUD (heads-up display) at all.
Molyneux is either a genius or completely insane, and where are my growing trees?!
"Here, in no specific order, are 10 things you need to know coming out of X10 today:

"Microsoft's very own Major Nelson just tweeted a couple hints at what games we can expect to see on the show floor of it's press-only event tomorrow night, known as X10 - the list has a couple surprises in it and is not all-inclusive. His tweets, along with our guesses of what each game in the list stand for is below; did we crack the correct code? We have been told that there are other titles, not on this hint-list, that will be announced at tomorrow's event."
There's been some talk going around lately about the relationship between Nintendo and third party developers. An example being difficulty with hardcore third party titles. "We met up with Peter Molyneux at Game Jam in Copenhagen last weekend and asked him about indie games and the future of Natal. As a bonus, we got a teaser about what he is going to reveal at X10, something that Peter says is going to upset people..."
After a somewhat quite year in 2009 regarding exclusive games, the Xbox 360 is hoping to bounce back this year with a slew of already announced 360-only titles.
"The release of Project Natal prior to the year’s end was once again confirmed, along with the fact that it will work with all existing Xbox 360 consoles. Further discussing new ideas, an interesting proposition was mentioned in the fact that Microsoft is considering allowing gamers to purchase a game on Xbox 360, and play it on their PC. Would this fantastic suggestion ever come to light in the retail space, however, Electronic Theatre would be very surprised indeed."
"2010 is already being called the "Year of Gaming" by some Xbox 360 gamers because of the arrival of gaming experiences such as Fable III and Project Natal.
Lionhead Studios' third instalment of Fable titled, Fable Three (III), takes place 50 years after the second game and the character you inhabit is the child of the Hero that you played in the second game. This character rises to taking a place of Royalty, through this the player is required to govern their land and make choices that inf..."
"Later in the evening Molyneux responded to a question regarding industry retail models by revealing that Lionhead are even considering selling GameFAQs style Fable III walkthroughs in the store, though it should be noted that this is just one of many ideas being bounced around. And if there’s one thing Molyneux isn’t short of, it’s ideas."
Neoseeker editor Lydia Sung returns to the fray today with an editorial about the Xbox LIVE Avatar Marketplace, which, like many gamers out there, she feels is disrespectful to customers.
Not usually just one to rant though, she offers up three major suggestions Microsoft can make use of to please (mostly) everyone.
Check it out at the source, where you can also find a fashion show of sorts -- this may be your only chance to see our fearless editor in a storm trooper outfit.
Just announced during Lionhead's Gamescom Press Conference, Fable III will take the player in new directions, following the King of Albion as he attempts to please or enslave his subjects.
