"Remember when you were a kid and your parents sat you on their lap and told you stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and Jack And The Beanstalk. Well Fairytale Fights is nothing like that. It’s bloodier, a lot bloodier! It’s a fun hack and slash adventure game from the developers over at Playlogic. We were interested in the title so we decided to sit down with Executive Producer Martin Janse at Playlogic to talk about the game and the future of Fairytale Fights."
"Following the release of a very successful demo version of Fairytale Fights on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Marketplace back in December, Playlogic Entertainment, Inc. has today announced the release of the first downloadable content (DLC) pack on PlayStation Network. Set to be available from 11th February 2010, the free Treasure Pack 1 DLC will bring four new playable characters and three new multiplayer arenas to Fairytale Fights."

"If you really enjoy side-scrolling brawlers, and you’re only looking to play by yourself, you’ll want to pick this one up, but everyone else should probably keep their distance, at least until the price goes down."
""Like many video games, Fairytale Fights gained attention because of the unique appeal of its basic concept. A violent, adult-themed twist on classic fairy tales has worked as a draw to many entries across various forms of media. However, unlike those more successful books, movies, or even games, Fairytale Fights totally abandons its core premise during its execution. Furthermore, this title manages to implement only barely-mediocre action and presentation elements.""
"Fairytale Fights is an unusual proposition on Current-Generation videogame systems, though certainly a welcome one. A markedly different package to the oppressive run of formulaic First-Person Shooters (FPS), Role-Playing Games (RPGs) and Racing games, Fairytale Fights will hopefully mark the point at which the installed userbase of Current-Generations systems will offer balance to the increasing costs of software development, and inspire publishers green-light some otherwise risky ventures."
Icrontic presents the first of a three part Developer's Diary for the fantasy hack-n-slash Fairytale Fights. In this episode, the developers introduce us to the game, explain the weapon types, the reasons for choosing Unreal Engine 3, and the unique combat style.
"Another niggly bit of gameplay was when you hacked or slashed an enemy/friend, half of the screen with taken up with a ‘SLASHED’ graphic for a good 3-4 seconds. When both players managed to do this simultaneously, it was “Goodbye visibility!” as the enemies kept on attacking behind the picture. According to the developers Playlogic, this is part of their ‘Salami Violence‘. They came up with an innovative new way to cut up characters so that the bits are lying around on the ground in any way y..."
"“We’ve now finalized friendly fire to be optional based on all the feedback we were getting from consumers at Gamescom. We’re dedicated to providing a game that we know consumers want and hope that these changes are just the first of many in the development cycle, reacting to our communities’ wishes. We’re planning multiple DLC updates and are always looking for feedback and interaction from those playing the game,” said Rogier Smit, Executive Vice President of Playlogic.

James Walker's sat down with a game that you may think is just a Shrek-like children platformer at first glance. Fairytale Fights does as the name of the game states, have to do with fairytales, however it also runs on the Unreal Engine and has a "Volumetric Liquid System" (which is a thing the developers made so the game seems to be more blood gushing than other titles on the market).
