Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has revealed that two new games, both of which are from Bethesda Softworks, will be joining the “Playstation 3 the Best” lineup in Japan.
"The details of the settlement have been made public and Bethesda now has full rights to the the Fallout Intellectual Property and to develop their own Fallout MMO. Interplay had allegedly begun development on the Fallout MMO with Masthead Studios but a second lawsuit by Bethesda resulted in Masthead no longer having any rights to the franchise either, leaving Bethesda in full control of all future Fallout games, and aborting any Fallout MMO that was in the works."
"These detail shots, while mind-meltingly bodacious, I’m sure do no justice to actually holding it in your hands, pretending as though you’re shooting a Raider in the face."
At Quakecon today Bethesda's Games Director, Todd Howard admitted why the games created by Bethesda never include ladders to climb without a loading screen.
The Director explained that the primary reason why there is no ladders to climb in the game environment is due to the fact that the their engine causes problems for the player character.
"The deals this week are gift card heavy as both Target and Toys R Us are offering gift cards with the purchase of select games for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. Meanwhile, GameStop kicks off their Power Saver Sale where you can get 10-50% off of select titles and free shipping. And, if you're looking for a new Xbox 360, K-Mart has a pretty good deal on a new Xbox 360 and Transformers: War for Cybertron."
This week only, Amazon.com is again offering "Buy 2 Xbox 360 Games, Get 1 Free" promotion. There's more than 35 Xbox 360 games eligible for this promotion including Fallout 3, Soul Caliber IV, Fable II Platinum Hits, Halo 3, Street Fighter IV, Ninja Gaiden II, Grand Theft Auto IV, Oblivion IV and many others.
"We contacted the Fallout publisher to find out its reaction, and were told, "Well he is a big part of our Fallout brand and is copyrighted, so, yeah, deciding on your own to use him to promote your business or product, or to sell stuff, or whatever, without getting permission from us ... not a good idea." Ruh oh!"
