Fallout: New Vegas was announced last year as a spin-off of Fallout 3, the highly successful RPG released in 2008 by Bethesda, the only details being that it would be set in Vegas, and would be developed by Obisidan. This poster at gamespot lists some very interesting facts about New Vegas, including a background system similar to Dragon Age: Origins, citing a "reliable source". Have a look.
