It seems like others are always trying to one-up the ironic, video game related crimes. Reported in this morning, a teenager was apprehended under charges of stabbing his own father over a video game dispute…in Italy…and the teen’s name was Mario. *sigh*

With the heated rivalry between EA Sports' FIFA franchise and Konami's Pro Evolution/Winning 11 games continuing, fans have been treated to some spectacular football games. After FIFA 09, it seemed tough to imagine that EA Sports could try and create a successor that could one-up the game. However, after their hands on with the latest installment at E3, IGN seems to believe that FIFA 10 lives up to the franchise's status. EA Sports has been taking gamer feedback and using it to improve on the...
Major Nelson has posted up the Live Activity for the week of May 11th, and with that comes some regulars, along with some .. weirdness... such as the fact that the UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo has made it's way on the top ten for the fourth week in a row! I played it, I don't get it, how is this on the list.. *shrugs shoulders*. Though being out a year and a half, as well as having a sequel, Call of Duty 4 continues to carry a high rank on the list :D
"Playcast is a complete gaming service solution for Cable and IPTV operators. The service brings next-generation IP owners to hundreds of millions of connected households, with the added benefit of established billing, customer care and support systems already in place via the cable operators themselves."
"The FIFA Interactive World Cup 2009 got underway on October 3rd, 2008, with EA SPORTS FIFA 09 players on PLAYSTATION3 vying for a handsome $20,000 (US) cash prize, a brand new car and the chance to hang out with football royalty at the FIFA World Player Gala."
"FIFA 09 Ultimate Team will be available as a download to FIFA 09 beginning March 19th, 2009. Fans will be able to experience the new game mode by creating a team with a starter package of players and virtual cards and play a five game trial before deciding to purchase the FIFA 09 Ultimate Team mode. FIFA 09 is required.
FIFA 09 Ultimate Team, scheduled for worldwide release on March 19th, is developed by EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C. It is rated E for everyone by the ESRB and 3+ by PEGI."
"Sometime last week Major Nelson made a post detailing a Gillette/EA even being held on Febuary 3rd at the UCF Arena (Orlando, FL). Though on short notice, I went ahead and called into work and charged the batteries for my camera. The basic concept of the even is that the best players in EA Sports titles were to face the real life athletes in the games. Decent enough concept, there was no charge for the event, and it was only a 15 minute drive from my house."
Major Nelson has posted the Live Activity for this week, summing up what is being played online in the gaming world for Xbox 360. I am amazed that despite the release of World at War, this does not hinder the CoD4 community from taking down everything that isn't Halo 3. Real football (FIFA) manages to beat out American football (Madden), and surprisingly, people are still playing Grand Theft Auto.
The top list of games sold this week has been released.
Wii - Wii Fit was in the top 3 of all regions. Mario Kart Wii and Wii Play were up in the top as well.
Xbox 360 - Call of Duty: World at War was at the top of North America and Europe, along with Gears of War 2. In Japan, Race Driver: GRID and Fallout 3 came out on top.
Playstation 3 - Littlebigplanet finished number one in both Europe and North America. Fallout 3 did well in Europe and Japan, as did Call of Duty: World at Wa...

"We look at the top 12 games from several platforms in order to determine which are the Top 12 Overall Games for 2008, and you might just be surprised at the overall winner for 2008 - coming from an Xbox site. OXCGN (aka XboxOZ360-gamer) has always maintained that the staff are gamers - not fanbois. Most have more than 2 consoles and platforms to play games on and simply enjoy gaming period.
So what better way to round off the year than to take a look at what we believe to be the top ..."

FIFA 09 scores a 9/10 from GCHD. No surprise really, since this game has been scoring high so far. Still, interesting (but short) review for anyone interested in picking this up this week.
A look at the top ten most anticipated games before this Christmas by Pocket Gamer writer Damien McFerran - surely a good way to find yourself a new game for Christmas!
Each game is listed by name, developer, publisher, release and a game overview along with a nice explanation of why you'd want to buy it.
Lego Batman: The Videogame has topped the list while the latest game for the popular Dragon Ball series hasn't performed as well at ninth. Are you looking forward to these games for th...
It was just under a year ago since we last saw the two highly successful football game franchises go at each other - I'm obviously talking about Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA. Both with the latest instalments releasing shortly, the Kind Folks over at Sony UK have once again given us reasons why each of them are good in their own way, in an effort to help us make up our minds on which game to get.
Go to the source to read the full article.
We often see these comparison videos, and for many, it's where they get the fuel for the numerous "PS3 vs XBOX360" threads. And well, I'm sure this video will add fuel to the fire as well...
Personally, I don't see any difference between the two, but I'm sure that those that want to see the difference will definitely see it.
"So okay, Pipemania didn't come out a week early. It's coming out now. Blockus didn't come out in Europe last month either and while it's listed yet again for this week, we're shaking our heads -- it's probably not happening. Anyway, we like seeing a full week such as this; it's the third one in a row no less.
As for Japan, they're getting high school girls + explosive clothing ... enough said."
"Posting on the EA forums, a UK staffer for the publisher has claimed that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of FIFA 09 are different to the PC SKU as the huge majority of home computers simply wouldnt be able to play them. Full thing:
The PC version of FIFA 09 is different to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions because of the CPU processing power required for the architecture of the game.
The majority of gamers PCs do not have enough CPU processing power for this architecture, so F..."

The game is scheduled to come out October 14th for the PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, DS, Wii, and the 360.
Not one but two things to note about the latest press release from Electronic Arts. Firstly is the new feature which will be included within the game which will allow the game to dynamically update the player forms to mirror real world performance. So if a team isn't doing too well in reality, they may stop doing so well in-game.
Secondly is that a demo for the game is on its way releasing on September 11th Worldwide on both the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360.
FIFA 09's soundtrack has finally been revealed, with music coming from all over the world, ranging from Wales all the way to Australia! The genres are also varied, with electro-funk music being mixed in to hip-hop and rock.
With over 250 changes made to the gameplay of FIFA 09, you can be sure that FIFA 09 will deliver the most realistic soccer experience of any video game! FIFA 09 will be coming out on the PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, 360, Wii, and DS.
Well According to FIFA Soccer Blog it looks like Electronic Arts will be including a Exclusive Game Mode to the Playstation 3 version of the up and coming title FIFA09 and they also claim this will be unveiled at Leipzig this month. There is no indication to what it will be though hopefully it will be something spectacular to make the game draw in extra fans this year.
The FIFA Soccer Blog has posted up some footage of the highlty anticipated game: FIFA 09. They note how much detail is shown in the game, as well as saying the that the game has shown major improvements from the previous ones.

EA has told MCV that FIFA '09 will be coming out for the UK on October 3rd. There is tons of anticipation for this game, with some PES supporters saying that FIFA '09 may be able to beat it! Over 250 improvements have been made from last year's game, some of which include a online mode with a max of 20 players, a better goalkeeper AI, and a lot more responsive shooting. The game is set to come out on the PC, PS2, PSP, PS3, 360, DS, and the Wii.
New improvements as always will be expected in the new FIFA, but this time they are major. More realistic gameplay is promised this time, and also the tactic setup will be more detailed than ever. The fight between PES and FIFA will be back on soon enough, as the 07/08 season has ended and 08/09 will be here soon. The big question is who will win this year?
