Within the past several years, Square Enix has been on the ball with remakes of their classic Final Fantasy games. And rumors of a remake for the huge and popular Final Fantasy 7 have been been buzzing around the net.
Square Enix president Yoichi Wada explains how there has been a remake boom lately, "The price of games is high, and consumers tend to be wary of buying games they are unfamiliar with".
That's an interesting reason for the increase of remake talk, but SE fans hope they do...
Well, Nintendo's biggest heavy hitter is out now as of yesterday, but that doesn't mean you should ignore the rest of the titles that come out this week. Also, pay attention to the Virtual Console, with some quality releases there too.

"Square Enix has today confirmed the March 21 PAL release of Ring of Fates, describing the handheld Nintendo DS exclusive as being "designed to be the most accessible Final Fantasy ever."
Moreover, Square is keen to highlight that Ring of Fates will enable up to four friends to join forces and play cooperatively through the game via the wireless functionality of the Nintendo DS."
Square Enix today has announced release dates for two of their DS games, along with another game. The two DS games?
The first game is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, with a hard release date of March 11, 2008 for the US.
The second game is The World Ends With You (Subarashiki Kono Sekai, It's A Wonderful World), with a more hazy "Spring 2008".
The games without dates announced though? Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Dragon Quest IV.
Coming soon to a DS near you is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals: Rings of Fates (maybe a bit of a mouthful). Whilst we have to wait a bit longer, the game is nearing release in Japan, and to mark this event have released two TV Adverts to promote to game. Why not take a look for yourselves:
Just how much do you love your relationship with the global Nintendo DS phenomenon? And exactly how deep are your gaming pockets? For why? Because no sooner is the Pikachu yellow DS Lite announced than developer Square Enix chucks a swanky embossed "Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Rings of Fates" DS Lite model own out the door. Will the limited-edition DS madness ever end? We still want one though.
"While Square Enix diligently works on the four player DS game, we wait patiently hoping that they'll finish Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates by the end of the year. Siliconera found the new pictures of their progress below, although the images are a bit small. More importantly, Square Enix also decided to update the four main character races with the following new skills:
* Selkies have a bow and they can use it to hit far away switches.
* Yukes are still the best s..."
"Japanese magazine Famitsu has released eight new images of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. Some of the images show off the new battle system, so those planning to buy Ring of Fates for their DS definitely need to see them!"
