"While “interactive cutsenes” are by no means something that the fans have been clamoring for it does put up a notice, albeit a small one, that Square may in fact be hearing the fans, but by giving us what we want in a totally new and innovative way. The reason we haven’t been asking for it is simply because most of us never even considered it."

New screenshots and trailer here as well as what is perhaps the Final Fantasy Versus XIII PS3 exclusive's feature, live action battle system, being shown off.

Square Enix's recent unveiling of various games has ignited speculation and interest worldwide. Piqued by what she saw, TK-Nation's Cassandra Khaw has compiled a listing of information and more importantly, a bunch of reasonably high quality trailers.

Many may have jumped the gun assuming FF Versus XIII would go multi-platform like FFXIII did, FF Versus XIII developer speaks his mind on the matter stating that IF it were to ever reach the Xbox 360 it would be merely as a port, and a direct quotation confirms this.

Tetsuya Nomura posted a comment on Twitter about the possibility of the Playstation 3 exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII coming to Xbox 360 in the future.

"Square Enix has one major title to show at TGS this year and it's Final Fantasy Versus XIII. This title has been shrouded in mystery and darkness for too long now and after a couple minor trailers, Square Enix will finally show the world what this is all about. To get gamers hyped, Square Enix has made a statement about the trailer and, if what they say is true, this trailer will be of epic proportions."

Eat your heart out Duke Nukem Forever, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is coming for your title. FF13/3rd Birthday/FF VS XII producer Yoshinori Kitase announced in an interview with GamingUnion that he has "no release date information to update" and that "we can't commit ourselves to 2011 either."
On one hand developers should take their time to produce a quality game and on the other hand taking 6-7 years to do so is a bit ridiculous. Dont be surprised if this becomes a common theme with SE, when...

Leaks from this week's Famitsu are steadily coming, with the information-lacking NomuRPG Final Fantasy Versus XIII finally getting some new information.

Versus XIII will have a Shinjuku-like environment, with seamless battles in an open-field environment. The items in the environment will be destructible, including roads and buildings.

No clue if there will be actual towns yet. Though, to be fair, Square has a hard time with those in HD.

Yoichi Wada, the CEO of Square Enix, has released a statement clarifying the comments he made yesterday about the possibility of Final Fantasy Versus XIII going to the Xbox 360.

Nothing like Square Enix yet again adding fuel to the fire that could cause message boards around the internet to burn once again.

In a Q&A session during an investor's meeting following the release of their numbers for the last fiscal year, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada stated that the as-of-right-now PlayStation 3 exclusive RPG Final Fantasy Versus XIII is currently under consideration to becoming a multiplatform release. S-E will making a decision by the game's formal unveiling.

Always good to see FNC news.

In a recent interview with Motomu Toriyama, he revealed some small information about the upcoming games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis Series, FINAL FANTASY Versus XIII and FINAL FANTASY Agito XIII.

He stated that Versus and Agito wont be Sequels to the recently released title FINAL FANTASY XIII. They will be their own stories, but will follow a Common Mythos. Players of FFXIII will already be aware of the Fal'Cie and L'Cie. These are set to appear in the upc...

"In a recent interview on the Japanese Square Enix Members area, Tetsuya Nomura has revealed further information regarding the upcoming Final Fantasy Versus XIII title – currently set to be released exclusively on PlayStation 3.

In a response to a question as to how much of the game is complete, Nomura responds “Things are not connected yet, every part is moving along separately. However, we have gotten airships working over the world map.”"

Way back in 2008, it was revealed that Final Fantasy Versus XIII would be a more "traditional" Final Fantasy game and would even have a world map of some sort. But what sort of world map? Well, Square Enix's Tetuya Nomura recently revealed that its set-up will resemble the world map of a certain previous FF game.

In the latest issue of Famitsu, there was a brief interview with Tetsuya Nomura. During the interview, there is a small segment about Final Fantasy Versus XIII and, unfortunately, it doesn't look like the game will be making a presence at E3 this year.

It's been a while since any new info on Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been revealed, but fans won't have to wait much longer, with Sony's Jeff Rubenstein announcing that some big news is coming this February.

Update: The article at the source had been updated, and it looks like there was a misinterpretation in Rubenstein's statement. He was talking about FFXIII, not Versus XIII. Does this mean we'll be hearing some big Final Fantasy XIII news this month, instead?

It looks like we might see some Western-developed Final Fantasy games in future. In a recent interview with Edge, Square Enix's president Yoichi Wada revealed that he is open to the idea of a Final Fantasy game being created in the West, provided it is overseen by their Japanese developers.

If this Western developed Final Fantasy does come into fruition, Wada said that he hoped it would fare similarly to Batman: Arkham Asylum, a Western game that "caters very much to the Japanese taste".

In a recent interview, Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura revealed that FFXIII's graphics engine has been updated, allowing his team to make Final Fantasy Versus XIII's real-time graphics identical to its CGI cutscenes.

"In the most recent issue of Famitsu, Nomura reveals that he is working on two unannounced titles. He gives some updates, saying that they are working to bring up the quality so that the difference between real time and pre-renders in the upcoming Final Fantasy Versus XIII is seamless. He also says that development for Agito is going favorably."

In the latest Famitsu, Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura and Motomu Toriyama discussed Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII and a little bit of Parasite Eve: Third Birthday. Most of it wasn't overly new information, though it was mentioned that FFXIII will be install-free on the PS3.

"In the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, Square Enix has confirmed that we will get new information on the second title in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, at the beginning of next year; which makes a hell lot of sense.

Nomura says it will be an information blowout. He wants to reveal details sooner, but the development team doesn't want to reveal anything until the quality of the game is better improved."

Tired of waiting 3-4 or more years for each Final Fantasy game to be released? Well, wait no more. Square Enix's Yoshi Kitase and Motomu Toriyama recently told vg247.com that, now that they have the engine built for it the basics are covered, they are aiming to shorten development time for future Final Fantasy games.

With Final Fantasy XIII overshadowing Versus XIII in the news over the past few months, it might be reassuring to hear that Versus manages to benefit from the focus being put into FFXIII. Yoshinori Kitase of Square Enix says that the time being put into the development of FF Versus XIII has become "comparatively faster" thanks to the development progress on the the main title.

Whilst many were hoping that Square Enix would divulge some new information regarding certain titles, particularly Final Fantasy Versus XIII, at the Tokyo Game Show, it appears that Square have no plans to do so, rather their TGS line-up will focus solely on their Winter line-up of Final Fantasy XIII and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.

"The biggest rumour to hit this week that has some substance behind it is the PS3 Slim; Images surfaced this week of the supposed system on a Chinese manufacturing line, I do have to say that the system looks like a cheap Chinese knock-off that might not totally be up to scratch yet, however the box does look very convincing, too good for a Photoshop job. The new PS3 logo threw me off however, but as it was shown at the end of a trailer the other day it may be true. From the looks of this pict..."

"Yusuke Naora, one of the developers who worked on the Japanese company's latest RPG, The Last Remnant, goes on to defend especially the teenage main characters...

“The format of the RPG lends itself well to having a teenage protagonist. Usually you’re playing for many hours, taking a character on a journey from a relatively weak state to one of power and maturity, a gameplay journey that mirrors that of a teenager moving into adulthood. That’s certainly one of the reasons it works well hav..."

"Because of legal complications we’re not able to go into full details here, but you should know that Blend Games will no longer cover Square Enix game trailers. Not because we don’t want to, but because they won’t let us. All we can say is that our recent coverage of Final Fantasy XIII was not something that Square Enix wanted. It wasn’t anything we said, they simply didn’t want us showing you their trailer. At all."

Due for release tommorow, it seems that scans of CLOUD have already leaked the internet containing Final Fantasy XIII Compilation, and we've got them all for you below.

While I think Square Enix are getting kind of greedy to be forcing people to buy a book to learn info about their titles I'm sure most fans won't matter. On Amazon Japan a second Cloud book is up, to be released on December 12th, already announced to be packed with screenshots, art and info on all the games and products mentioned below. Let's hope its actually something substantial this time, rather than the tiny fragments we usually get.

If your an RPG gamer then you most certainly know who Bahamut is, and if you don't... where have you been living? One of the popular Summons from the Final Fantasy Series, it seems that he may very well be getting a game of his own. With "Blood of Bahamut" a trademarked name by Square-Enix a website for the game has gone live, and we have to wait 5 days to uncover the truth as to what the game will be about, and most importantly what platforms:- Consoles or Handheld.

Within the past several years, Square Enix has been on the ball with remakes of their classic Final Fantasy games. And rumors of a remake for the huge and popular Final Fantasy 7 have been been buzzing around the net.

Square Enix president Yoichi Wada explains how there has been a remake boom lately, "The price of games is high, and consumers tend to be wary of buying games they are unfamiliar with".

That's an interesting reason for the increase of remake talk, but SE fans hope they do...

Neoseeker's own Shuyin's Girl has translated the latest edition of Weekly Shonen Jump, which reveals the official name of Final Fantasy XIII's blonde character who the fans have dubbed "Mr 33cm" (due to the size of his feet).

His official name is ... Snow!

According to a interview translated by FinalFantasy-XIII.net with Square Enix designer Tetsuya Nomura, Final Fantasy XIII Agito, which is coming out for the PSP and mobile phones, won't hit shelves in Japan until FFXIII and Versus are finished.

One thing that almost all Final Fantasy fans have wanted ever since FFX was released was a more traditional Final Fantasy game. But what do I mean by traditional? Well, I mean a world map through which the character goes through and enters cities on... and it seems that TalkPlaystation.com have gotten word that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be traditional in that sense.

Tetsuya Nomura, one of the main character designers and directors at Square Enix has recently dished out some juicy Final Fantasy info on a variety of games. Apparent Advent Children complete the Blu ray update of the CGI film feature is a lot more than just a coat of paint and that a release date has already been decided for the Japanese release, though we will have wait for DK Σ3713 in August to find out when we'll get it. He also says a big announcement will accompany the release date.

It's no secret that Square Enix are working on a truck load of games at the moment... maybe more than they should be at one time. So fans were very happy to hear that Final Fantasy Versus XIII had been put on hold so that both teams could focus on FFXIII.

Whilst Final Fantasy Versus XIII may be the " fan favourite ", it seems its finally taken a back seat to the development of Final Fantasy XIII, which is now of top priority to Square Enix. In this writers opinion, it's about time !

The rumor of a remake of Final Fantasy 7 has been running wild ever since the release of Square Enix's tech-demo a few years ago and this rumor has been put down and recovered numerous times over the past years.

This time however, we get probably the most definitive answer yet, until the game is either officially announced or officially canned.

This makes the most sense, the possibility of a FF7 remake is completely dependent on Square-Enix's schedule. Mostly the completion of FF13 and...

As Final Fantasy fans would know, Square Enix have been pretty stingy when it comes to releasing their new trailers to the general public. The most recent Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII trailers at TGS were only revealed to a closed theatre, so fans have had to settle with listening to descriptions of the trailers written by the few people who were lucky enough to be allowed in the theatre.

Well, it looks like the fan's prayers have finally been answered. With Square Enix launching the...

In the recent Famitsu issue here are the top 20 games most wanted from Japan's biggest games magazine. It's a really interesting list as what dominates the list in being No.1 is Dragon Quest IX for the Nintendo DS and then followed by Final Fantasy XIII which was at No.1. Third place comes the highly anticipated Resident Evil 5. A list containing top notch games. Too bad only one game from 360 makes it.
