"Square Enix is undecided about releasing a playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII in the States, but if it does, it won't be available on disc form. Square Enix's Yoshinori Kitase commented, "we are thinking of providing it in a downloadable format," reiterating earlier sentiments. However, don't expect to play a localized version of the PS3 demo. Instead, "if we were to provide the demo overseas, it would be a completely new version." "Final Fantasy. Man, this franchise is so damn enormous, that even its demos manage to move dozens of thousands additional hardware units in a week. A demo! "Square Enix started off the week over in Japan with the announcement of a final release date for Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete. The Blu-ray version of the FFVII CG afterstory will hit Japan on April 16, priced at 4,900 yen (about $54).

PS3 owners throughout the world are likely keeping an eye on this product due to the planned inclusion of a Final Fantasy XIII demo. The demo will be available in two versions of the Advent Children package."

According to the latest issue of Famitsu, the Final Fantasy XIII demo (that will be bundled with the upcoming Advent Children: Complete Blu-Ray DVD) will last even longer than the Advent Children movie itself, and will be based upon the opening section of the game.
That means the demo will be a grand spankin' 2+ hours long!
