Recent images have emerged from Final Fantasy XIII-2, including the what looks like the new protagonist and the return of the Final Fantasy XIII battle system.

"After the latest batch of Final Fantasy XIII screens, you can come to a clear choice of which version is going to be the best option for you -- if graphics make the difference. While the graphics of both versions are solid, the PS3 appears to be the cleaner of the two. Yes, the title was developed with the PS3 in mind and the Xbox 360 version uses a different graphics engine, so they wouldn't be identical either way. These are the newest released screens by Square Enix for each version."

It might be a coincidence that one of my highest rated stories on this site also revolves around Final Fantasy panty shots, but I don't know whether to be amused or a little freaked out by this.

Heres a fresh new batch of Final Fantasy XIII screenshots, however they may leave some of you questioning the game. Myself am wondering why the monsters look so intensely detailed yet the ground their standing on is as flat as a pancake. Seriously Square you couldn't at least add some blades of grass?

Anyway enjoy the screenshots! More at the source.

Square Enix have released eight new English Final Fantasy XIII screenshots, one of which has a rather interesting subtitle.
"You want to keep breathing? Shut Up And Come Quiet" sure brings back memories of Final Fantasy VII and it's strange translations!

We most likely won't have to worry about too many odd translations. The Tokyo Game Show trailer had decent enough English.

"Given the news that the Xbox 360 version is most certainly the underdog in development, today’s screenshots are reportedly taken from the Xbox 360 release, and though some have made their way into the public circuit previously, Electronic Theatre expects this to be a case of allowing for personal comparison. To which end, Electronic Theatre can see no great difference between the previously released PS3 images and those of the Xbox 360 version made available today."

Sony dropped a bomb today at E3 2009, and that's the news that Final Fantasy 14 is coming, and it's coming to PS3 exclusively. The footage, though a bit grainy, showed the game already has a combat system in place, as well as voice overs and CGI.
