Ever since the early console games, bosses have been a staple of video gaming. However, there's always at least one that really makes you scratch your head and wonder what's wrong with the sucker.

So who directed Final Fantasy X? Motomu Toriyama, Takayoshi Nakazato and Toshiro Tsuchida were the three directors on Final Fantasy X. Final Fantasy X was a great game and many FF fans loved it, same goes for Final Fantasy VII and so on. FF XII was a biggest letdown in the series..

"When a game has tons of characters in it, like Final Fantasy does, there are your stand outs; and then there are your standaways. Some characters are truly annoying, so annoying that you have to look away from their dialog boxes. Really, you shouldn't have to listen to someone nag or cry when you can't skip cut scenes."

Virtually every Final Fantasy game has a full piano score released in a book to go with it. In this piece, Digitally Downloaded looks at a "best of" collection.

Surprisingly, given the quality of these pieces, most of them are not that hard to play for music students.

"Often in the Super Mario series Princess Peach will invite Mario to the castle for cake, and is then promptly stolen by Bowser. So many narrative plot-points are never addressed within Mario. Is cake a metaphor for something else? Why does Bowser love pinching Peach so much? Why on earth does Mario actually bother saving her all the time? It's never yet been addressed, and probably never will be. You'd have to think our favourite portly plumber would eventually give up his quest to gain the m..."

"Ok ok, technically its a film villain abode, but you have to admit it is probably one of the most iconic villainous abodes ever, and its appearance in Star Wars games is always a joy. I particularly enjoyed making my way through it in the Force Unleashed, chucking storm-troopers into the planet-destroying laser beam as it switched on, frying them to particles in a split-second."

The top ten most-downloaded Playstation Network games on the Playstation Store for the month of June, according to the latest episode of the Playstation Pulse.

The official release date has been revealed for the re-release of Final Fantasy IX as a PSOne Classic on the North American Playstation Store of the PSP and Playstation 3.

"Long out of print and largely considered to be the best of the PS one's Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy IX is finally back in digital download form, available across the European Playstation Store beginning today, Square Enix has announced."

"For this week's Cosplay Babe of the Week, we went back to a franchise full of some of the most popular female characters in gaming. Final Fantasy has so many popular female characters that it's almost hard to pick one. However, we were able to and we chose Beatrix from Final Fantasy IX this week."

Shinji Hashimoto of Square Enix reveals the price and download size for the upcoming PSOne Classic release of Final Fantasy IX on the Japanese Playstation Store.

"Gamers have seen few franchises with histories as impressively deep and memorable as the Final Fantasy series. Besides being known for great story lines lovable heroes, Square/Enix's uber-popular franchise is also known for having some of the meanest and most evil baddies in the history of video games."

Through the Square Enix Members Twitter, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada has confirmed that the last mainline Final Fantasy of the PlayStation era, Final Fantasy IX, will be seeing a release on the PlayStation Network.

Pricing details and release dates will become available during the official announcement.

According to producer Shinji Hashimoto, the idea of bringing Final Fantasy IX to the Playstation Network got plenty of approvals when the subject was brought up during a recent Square Enix board meeting.

"Over the past few days, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto has been collecting opinions on Final Fantasy IX via the Square Enix Members Twitter. Earlier today, he wrote: "Thanks to everyone for your opinions on FF9. Regarding an FF9 download release, everyone is so passionate about it that I'll be proposing it at the next board meeting. Look forward to next week!""

"In order for an ending to reign superior over the others in this list, it must contain high production value within its context (i.e. FFVIII's ending can't be better than FFIV's ending on grounds of graphics), a satisfying conclusion to the story, and a strong musical score (Uematsu vs Uematsu vs Uematsu, etc.!)"

Akitoshi Kawazu, Square Enix developer, has said that he wants the Final Fantasy franchise to last forever.
In a recent interview, Kawazu was asked if gamers will ever see a final Final Fantasy. He said:

"8. Garland (FF9)
Garland is directly responsible for the events in the game. He was created by the Terrans and given the task to find a new planet for them to live on. When he couldn’t conquer Gaia, he created Kuja to be his Angel of Death, killing Gaians to make room for the Terrans’ souls."

When asked which Final Fantasy game should be remade, most fans will say Final Fantasy VII. Psxextreme.com has held many polls on the topic and always end up with the same result. But with so many great games in the series, FFVII isn't the only one that deserves to be beautified for next-gen consoles.

So psxextreme.com asks the question: Besides FFVII, which FF game would you like to see remade?

"Since the company was founded in 1983, Squaresoft has had a reputation of making good-quality video games. Since its first title to hit the North American market (Rad Racer back in 1987 for the NES) and through today the ratio of high-quality to low-quality games has greatly skewed toward the former. The company is now known as Square-Enix thanks to a merger with animé, manga, and video game company Enix."

"There are lots of excellent reasons to want to blow up an RPG town. If you’re a villain, for example, you might level a place because it’s friendly to some resistance movement, or it’s in your way, or the heroes are stopping in briefly on their way to kill you. If you’re a game designer, you might do it to raise the stakes, or to give players some emotional reason to want the villain dead. And if you’re a player, it’s probably because you’re sick of listening to a bunch of cookie-cutter whine..."

"

Master Chief and Arbiter aren't be too safe walking around that world map. See what happens when they come across a....random battle.

Just an FYI. Master Chief is Knight class, while the Arbiter is a Mage"

"The allure just isn't there anymore for the Final Fantasy titles and we have to ask why. Loyal fans try to create hype, but the games are just not combining new and old expectations. Maybe it's because every game, we have to warm up to new characters and worlds. Square sets itself up for hit and miss titles with no character regularity. The only motif running through the series I can identify is a blond guy and clueless protagonists. Most of the recent Final Fantasy games (dare I say Square ..."

A list that features 10 of the best Final Fantasy games ever released. The list begins with Final Fantasy XI game which is the MMORPG. Also whoever is thinking that Final Fantasy VII is No.1 think again. VII-VIII-IX these three games fail to get the No.1 position, even though I was expecting one of them to be No.1. I'm also completely surprised with the position Final Fantasy XII made.
