At a recent video game show in Taipei, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto revealed that the recently announced FFX HD for PS3 and PS Vita will be a remaster, as opposed to a remake.

So who directed Final Fantasy X? Motomu Toriyama, Takayoshi Nakazato and Toshiro Tsuchida were the three directors on Final Fantasy X. Final Fantasy X was a great game and many FF fans loved it, same goes for Final Fantasy VII and so on. FF XII was a biggest letdown in the series..

"When a game has tons of characters in it, like Final Fantasy does, there are your stand outs; and then there are your standaways. Some characters are truly annoying, so annoying that you have to look away from their dialog boxes. Really, you shouldn't have to listen to someone nag or cry when you can't skip cut scenes."

CliffyB3.com's Chris H writes:

"As a gay gamer, I am not immune to the sex appeal of video game characters: in fact, I celebrate it. Even as a young kid, I can remember being attracted to the characters in my video games, using my imagination to fill in the pixels, so to speak.

Without further adieu, here are the five hottest male characters in gaming."

A list I've created which includes what I think the best music/songs in video games till now. This is only the first part. I will be adding the next part as soon as I decide part II's music.

"Everyone has that video game they absolutely love. Everyone has that video game that they can play for hours on end. Everyone has that video game character that has won their heart and everyone has that video game character that they absolutely hate..."

"This week’s Cosplay Babe of the Week came after a lot of demand from the Final Fantasy crowd. We’ve actually received quite a few emails letting us know that while Tifa may be popular and Rikku has her fair share of fans, it’s Yuna’s older sister that they want. So we listened and made sure that this week we honored Lulu from Final Fantasy X and X-2."

"Since the God of War collection was remastered on PS3 I’ve been thinking, there’s many more classics that were released on the PS2 that I would love to be released on the PS3 in high definition and include some trophies in there, that’s a dream come true. The God of War collection brought back some amazing memories while I played it. I’m sure you all know that feeling you get when you play a game you haven’t touched in years, it’s a really nice feeling. Anyway, here are the games that NEED to..."

"Gamers have seen few franchises with histories as impressively deep and memorable as the Final Fantasy series. Besides being known for great story lines lovable heroes, Square/Enix's uber-popular franchise is also known for having some of the meanest and most evil baddies in the history of video games."

"In order for an ending to reign superior over the others in this list, it must contain high production value within its context (i.e. FFVIII's ending can't be better than FFIV's ending on grounds of graphics), a satisfying conclusion to the story, and a strong musical score (Uematsu vs Uematsu vs Uematsu, etc.!)"

These ladies may not neccessarily be amongst the sexiest video game characters, but they would definitely be the most difficult to woo. Gametrailers has listed the top 10 game babes who are out of your league...

"Video game designers have been throwing around whether protagonists should talk or not ever since characters began to speak at all. In many game franchises the main character never speaks, even if everyone else around him does. In Super Mario RPG this is even used as a comedic device. In the early generations of games there was hardly any dialogue, and when there was it was never spoken by the protagonist. Of course, few games from the NES era could have what you would consider "memorable" st..."

Akitoshi Kawazu, Square Enix developer, has said that he wants the Final Fantasy franchise to last forever.
In a recent interview, Kawazu was asked if gamers will ever see a final Final Fantasy. He said:

"I thought I'd share another list: the top 5 tearjerker RPGs. Here they are according to Oricon:

1. Final Fantasy X
2. Dragon Quest V
3. Final Fantasy VII
4. CLANNAD
5. Mother 2 (EarthBound)"

While gaming has many memorable, defining and cinematic moments, it has also had it's fair share of awkward and embarassing moments too.
This list fits into the latter category of things we just don't want to remember. Go to the source for resumeplay.net's Top 5 Uncomfortable Moments In Gaming...

"8. Garland (FF9)
Garland is directly responsible for the events in the game. He was created by the Terrans and given the task to find a new planet for them to live on. When he couldn’t conquer Gaia, he created Kuja to be his Angel of Death, killing Gaians to make room for the Terrans’ souls."

Sony has pulled a brilliant move by re-releasing a the God of War series on Blu-Ray. Featuring HD and trophy support. The game will be released some time before the 3rd installment to help build up hype. This is a great move that a lot of other companies should follow. So, what other games should get re-released on the PS3. Follow the link to read on.

"Below we have a list of possibly some of the best endings out there. But be warned, everyone probably has a special game in their heart with an ending that gave them goose bumps and made them feel all gooey on the inside, but sadly we cannot cover them all."

"A couple times over the past few years, we've decided to sit down and take a good, cold, hard look at the PlayStation 2's library and select the best of the best to let you know what our favorites were (and are). Even though the system is fighting with every last breath to stay alive, it's still surprising to us that new games continue to creep into our list. So, because it's been a while, we figured it was time to look at our picks again and update our choices for the best 25 PlayStation 2 g..."

When asked which Final Fantasy game should be remade, most fans will say Final Fantasy VII. Psxextreme.com has held many polls on the topic and always end up with the same result. But with so many great games in the series, FFVII isn't the only one that deserves to be beautified for next-gen consoles.

So psxextreme.com asks the question: Besides FFVII, which FF game would you like to see remade?

"Since the company was founded in 1983, Squaresoft has had a reputation of making good-quality video games. Since its first title to hit the North American market (Rad Racer back in 1987 for the NES) and through today the ratio of high-quality to low-quality games has greatly skewed toward the former. The company is now known as Square-Enix thanks to a merger with animé, manga, and video game company Enix."

"There are lots of excellent reasons to want to blow up an RPG town. If you’re a villain, for example, you might level a place because it’s friendly to some resistance movement, or it’s in your way, or the heroes are stopping in briefly on their way to kill you. If you’re a game designer, you might do it to raise the stakes, or to give players some emotional reason to want the villain dead. And if you’re a player, it’s probably because you’re sick of listening to a bunch of cookie-cutter whine..."

"The Playstation 2 is now $99, meaning you have absolutely no excuse to not have one. In fact, you’ve already gone to the store and bought one, right? Good! You have made the right decision, the Playstation 2 library is very large and very diverse; it will fill in any gaps between releases this generation. Now that you are a proud owner of your Playstation 2 system, I am starting a series for you on what games you need to get. Each week I’ll look at a genre and what in that genre you need to g..."

"

Master Chief and Arbiter aren't be too safe walking around that world map. See what happens when they come across a....random battle.

Just an FYI. Master Chief is Knight class, while the Arbiter is a Mage"

We certainly got excited when an article was submitted concerning a Master Sword becoming a reality. Thanks to Sub-Zero of unrealitymag.com, you can check out eleven others as well in his gallery! (Including a Master Sword as a twelfth)

"Everyone remembers Final Fantasy X one of the most renowned and loved Final Fantasy title out there - at least on the PS2. The games that were released after that FFXI & FFXII were good, but many didn't consider FFXI to be even part of the series (I know I didn't), and FFX-2 & FFXII got mixed feelings (though I was one that loved and enjoyed both the games, albeit I didn't like the story of either too much, the gameplay was addictive enough for me). The one thing many people bring up and reme..."

"2001 was a pioneering year for video games. Nintendo released it’s GameCube console, and Microsoft entered the video game market with the Xbox. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 2 continued to dominate the market while Sega announced that they would be pulling out of the console business, killing support for the Dreamcast to focus on software. On the handheld front, Nintendo released their Game Boy Advance.

Before the Dreamcast went away, though, it did see a few milestones. 800,000 people found ..."

"Ghosts, demons, and zombies have been part of gaming since the beginning. Though they take on different forms in the hands of different developers, they all have one thing in common: they can no longer be counted among the living. Here is a ranking of some outstanding members. Drag your dead bodies off the floor and be recognized."

We've almost all heard about Square-Enix, but not many people have heard of Level-5, the company that are currently in the process of developing White Knight Story/Chronicles.

The question that diggingtheweb.com have asked is... can Level-5 dethrone Square-Enix? In terms of number of games, that's an obvious no with only 150 employees as at last year, however if you go by quality of games... well it was Level 5 who previously developed Dragon Quest VIII and that in itself says something ab...

In what is truly a outstanding show of dedication and hard work a Japanese member of the LittleBigPlanet Beta has recreated the Final Fantasy X theme song in his very own level. The sheer amount of time and effort which must have gone into this level alone deserves a little recognition don't you think? View the video here or at the source.

"Damn, that girl is smokin... oh... that's a guy?” Surely, we've all fallen victim to such a scenario. Not you, you say! You’re a hardcore gamer with 20/20 vision and a keen eye for Adam's apples and moose knuckles? Fine! Many of us aren't as perceptive, so we’ve decided to highlight those brave folks who might not have gotten their sex across the first time around."

1up brings us several classic characters recreated using the Soul Calibur 4 character creation mode. From He-Man, Lion-O, even down to Bruce Lee and Raiden, you will certainly be able to recognize some of these familiar faces.

Even Ronald McDonald makes an appearance, along side popular gaming favorites such as Mario, Phoenix Wright, Dante, and Auron and Tidus from FFX!

OK, supposing you could date a female video game character of your choice.....Did you ever wonder how your mother might see her? A good match, or a horrible influence?

Well, this article (complete with images) examines which 10 you SHOULD take to meet your mom, and which 10 you probably shouldn't >_>

Some non-surprising characters on the list. I gather the average reader would know of at least several of them.

TBH, I'd like to date Etna (not on the list), though she might make me r...

"The allure just isn't there anymore for the Final Fantasy titles and we have to ask why. Loyal fans try to create hype, but the games are just not combining new and old expectations. Maybe it's because every game, we have to warm up to new characters and worlds. Square sets itself up for hit and miss titles with no character regularity. The only motif running through the series I can identify is a blond guy and clueless protagonists. Most of the recent Final Fantasy games (dare I say Square ..."

"The Japanese role-playing game is a surprisingly important genre for developers to study - both in terms of gameplay and storytelling, and Gamasutra presents an 'Essential 20' explaining and chronicling the top JRPGs of all-time.

Valkyrie Profile: In most RPGs, it's your job to stop the end of the world. In Valkyrie Profile, it's your job to start it.

"4. Dante and Trish - Devil May Cry Series (PS2)
If the best girl a man can find is one that reminds him of his mother, then Dante has certainly hit the jackpot. Created by the demon lord Mundus during the first game to resemble the devil hunter's mother Eva, Trish wound up developing feelings for Dante, helping him to defeat Mundus and ending up as his partner. While the fact that her feelings stem from being made in his mother's image is kind of creepy if you stop and think about it, there'..."

For those of you who don't know Monyoum. He's the one who made the popular video Haloid about a Spartan (from Halo) and Samus Aran(Metroid) battle each other before turning their attention to the covenant attack force.

This time he's taken some female characters from Final Fantasy and a couple from Dead or Alive. They then commence an epic battle full of great animation and imaginative moves.

A list that features 10 of the best Final Fantasy games ever released. The list begins with Final Fantasy XI game which is the MMORPG. Also whoever is thinking that Final Fantasy VII is No.1 think again. VII-VIII-IX these three games fail to get the No.1 position, even though I was expecting one of them to be No.1. I'm also completely surprised with the position Final Fantasy XII made.
