"Square Enix re-releases classic Final Fantasy games quite a lot these days, with Final Fantasy IV being a major culprit. However, it is now contemplating whether or not to re-release a game that no one would expect. Final Fantasy XI... that’s right, their very first MMO may see a release on the PS Vita sometime in the future."

Yeah, the badass Sephiroth made a debut in his own rap video. I got to admit it, I wasn't so sure about it at first but surprisingly it kinda fit. Anyways, check it out for yourself!

Due to the continuous earthquakes occurring in the eastern regions of Japan since Mar. 11, 2011, the power companies in Japan have encouraged everyone to cooperate by conserving as much energy as possible and Square Enix has agreed to take down their game servers for FFXI, FFXIV and PlayOnline for at least 1 week beginning March 3rd 3:00 PST.

"Some remakes just shouldn't have been made in the first place. If you ever have the chance, don't check out Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. Probably one of the worst remakes I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. A remake of the excellent 360 version, and built from the ground up for the Wii, Chop Till You Drop does everything wrong. The ability to take photographs was completely removed (which is odd, considering that the protagonist, Frank West, is a photographer...), the amount of zombie..."

"The next announcement for the upcoming version update for Final Fantasy XI has arrived: Chains of Promathia areas will have their level restriction removed.

The areas affected include Pso'Xja, Promyvion - Holla, Promyvion - Dem, Promyvion - Mea, Promyvion - Vahzl, Phomiuna Aqueducts, Sacrarium, Riverne - Site #B01, and Riverne - Site #A01.

The level restriction will allow players greater access to the missions in the areas. Some areas will also be adjusted to offer a greater challenge t..."

"Joystick: We did a few special things on twitter
FoxyKazoo: yeah, i saw the retweet for Xbox points, i did not win
Joystick: yeah, and WrathChild attempted to win, she tried to finagle her way in, we had to tell her she couldn't do that. So I do wish to formally apologize for last week. It was a little rude of me, and in case some of you are wondering what it is that I did, the one thing that I am apologizing for, not everything am I apologizing for, but the one thing. I apologize for makin..."

"Final Fantasy is one of the most famous franchises in gaming history and for good reason. The gameplay has evolved over the years and pleased gamers on everything from the original NES to the WonderSwan and still entrances gamers on the PS3 and 360. But there's another appeal factor about this series."

"These days there aren’t many game experiences that you can’t get on either a console or a PC. The only thing that hasn’t managed to cross system lines up until now is the MMO genre. It’s been attempted once or twice, most notably with Final Fantasy 11, but it has never caught-fire and become hugely successful – as it is on the PC side of things. There is millions of dollars in the MMO genre and developers everywhere are scrambling to figure out a way to create the first big-time MMO for the X..."

Square has developed a reputation over the years for dramatically changing how the battle mechanic works with each new iteration of the Final Fantasy series. The Kartel highlights how battling has evolved over the years, and pick out the ones that worked best.

I had the pleasure of recording a podcast with three Final Fantasy enthusiasts. I did not talk and they spoke on everything within the series. See the description. download through iTunes, though Zune, or download the mp3 directly

Square Enix is lowering the price Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection to $14.99. This collection includes the original FFXI, the four expansions, and the three 2009 scenarios. Is this a sign of the times to come?

It has been reported that a top human resources employee at Square Enix posted on a personal blog (that has since been taken down) that FFXI will terminate in order to make way for Final Fantasy XIV.

Attached is the supposed posting which says, “I think some amongst you will know, but FF11 started in 2002 … Well, this year it’ll end and the stage will shift to FF14.”

Akitoshi Kawazu, Square Enix developer, has said that he wants the Final Fantasy franchise to last forever.
In a recent interview, Kawazu was asked if gamers will ever see a final Final Fantasy. He said:

"Square Enix Ltd. has announced that the entire Final Fantasy XI universe, including all previous expansion packs and add-on scenarios, is now available for the first time ever in one download. Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection is available exclusively for Windows download."

A group Final Fantasy XI players are apparently got fed up with the popular MMORPG. The upset fans are suing the publisher and developer, Square Enix, for numerous allegations relating to the mischievous policies within Final Fantasy XI and its expansion packs.

"One of the bigger announcements at this years E3 was Sony’s reveal that not only was SquareEnix working on Final Fantasy XIII but that they were also hard at work on Final Fantasy XIV . This came as quite a shock to the gaming populace as for quite some time Square was insistent that Project Rapture would not be a game in the Final Fantasy universe. Yet here we are with Final Fantasy XIV Online. Being a veteran of Final Fantasy XI since the US launch of the game this excited me quite a bit a..."

Final Fantasy XI has released on all major platforms, the 360, PS2, PC. However it did not appear on the PS3, which was strange at the time considering Square's strong support of the console. However a recent interview has revealed that Square actually intended to release the game on the next gen console, but one thing stopped them. The Sony dev just stopped coming, for what reason even FFXI producer Hiromichi Tanaka doesn't fully understand.

"Everyone remembers Final Fantasy X one of the most renowned and loved Final Fantasy title out there - at least on the PS2. The games that were released after that FFXI & FFXII were good, but many didn't consider FFXI to be even part of the series (I know I didn't), and FFX-2 & FFXII got mixed feelings (though I was one that loved and enjoyed both the games, albeit I didn't like the story of either too much, the gameplay was addictive enough for me). The one thing many people bring up and reme..."

Six years since its initial release, Final Fantasy XI currently has 500,000 active users playing in Europe, Japan, and..."

The digital version of FINAL FANTASY XI 2008 Edition available for Windows contains the original PC game FINAL FANTASY XI and all four expansion packs to take your adventure even further. These inc..."

Recently Square Enix implemented a new boss into the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI. This boss Pandemonium Warden was almost insanely powerful and many clans claimed to have fought the thing for hours without success as evident here.

However hearing the community's plea's Square Enix have said they are planning to make alterations to the boss. So anyone looking to have a South Park World of Warcraft like battle will be disappointed.

Brought to you by Square Enix Music comes a brand new soundtrack directed and composed by the legendary Nobuo Uematsu and remixed and produced by Ante / Ian Hartley & mattb: FINAL FANTASY REMIX, featuring 12 classic Final Fantasy tunes remixed.

"The allure just isn't there anymore for the Final Fantasy titles and we have to ask why. Loyal fans try to create hype, but the games are just not combining new and old expectations. Maybe it's because every game, we have to warm up to new characters and worlds. Square sets itself up for hit and miss titles with no character regularity. The only motif running through the series I can identify is a blond guy and clueless protagonists. Most of the recent Final Fantasy games (dare I say Square ..."

Square-Enix's masterful MMO gets a new version as it is announced that Final Fantasy XI 2008 Edition will be releasing in Europe on 23rd May 2008. Included in this pack contains all four expansion packs (Rise of Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasures of Aht Urghan & Wings of the Goddess). Take a look at the boxscans for the game below.

"The official FFXI site has up notes on the rewards you can garner for participating in the event this year - the very beautiful eggs pictured above with a very sleepy Moogle. How to actually participate in the Eggstravaganza event isn't on the site, but the event hasn't changed overmuch in the many years it's been running. For hints, Allakhazam has guides for the 2005 egg hunt and the 2007 egg hunt."

""1/10 MMORPG Players Develop Physical Relationships With Others"

And no, I don’t mean other people period, I mean with their actual in-game friends, although that would be hilariously pathetic =D . The thought of a Tauren and Orc getting it on though is absolutely disgusting. Sure, I’ve gotten a lap dance in Goldshire before, but we were both human and she needed the gold for college or a mount or something…

Anyways, Nottingham Trent University has done a research study which reveals ..."

November 15th through the 17th (Thursday through Saturday), at the Anaheim Hilton, in Anaheim, California is when the next Final Fantasy XI Fan festival is being scheduled to be held to commemorate their new expansion for the game Final Fantasy XI : Wings of the Goddess.

1UP interviews Square Enix's North American online producer, Yasu Kurosawa to find out what is in store for this years event.

A list that features 10 of the best Final Fantasy games ever released. The list begins with Final Fantasy XI game which is the MMORPG. Also whoever is thinking that Final Fantasy VII is No.1 think again. VII-VIII-IX these three games fail to get the No.1 position, even though I was expecting one of them to be No.1. I'm also completely surprised with the position Final Fantasy XII made.

The newest addition to Final Fantasy XI has been announced at the Square-Enix Party as Wings of the Godess.

Set to tell the history of the land of Vana'diel, current characters may travel backward in time to see a world built anew, and the restoration of the current world's ruins.

Slated for a Winter 2007 release in Japan, players eagerly await the opportunity to experience the history of Vana'diel first hand.
