"Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon makes for an interesting introduction to the series, but it's going to feel a bit backward to anyone who has played the "older" games in the franchise. Since it's a remake, the gameplay is understandably archaic, but at the same time, its status as a remake doesn't mean that it's OK to regress. It's fun, but anyone who has made it through the GBA or console versions of the game will find Shadow Dragon to be terribly limited. This might be more forgivable if the stor..."
Spring and love and all that garbage are in the air, and with that kicks off a solid batch of games this week. The obvious blockbuster is Street Fighter IV, the fighting game for pretty much everyone, really, then the fabulous RTS Dawn of War II (the RTS even for people who don't play RTS), and two titles from equally reputable RPG series': Dragon Quest V and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
Bon semaine!

The IGN AU team recently got a chance to play the import version of Fire Emblem DS and have written up their hands-on impressions of the game. From their playthrough, the game lives up to the expectations of the original NES game. Also, the inclusion of online battles is a welcomed addition. Though IGN AU did have a few gripes about the sprites, they were impressed overall with the remake. The game hit Japanese shelves on August 7th; however, no international release date has been given, so k...
The official site for Fire Emblem DS has emerged with tons of stuff for you to look at. There are some videos and Masamune Shirowa has done character illustrations. Shirowa is manga artist and has done manga for tons of video games.
"Since Fire Emblem is a game with extremely high replay value with a strong hardcore following of perfectionist gamers, you can expect a lot of time to be spent (especially if you're re-setting to save a character), and a few graphical and audio improvements will make the experience much more enjoyable.
And enjoying the Fire Emblem experience is what it's all about. In achieving this, the single most important thing Nintendo and Intelligent Systems can give us is a great multiplayer and ..."
