"SUDA51 now has a long list of global releases to his name, each of which has received a mixed critical response and performance at retail. Perhaps part of his trademark, along with the regular appearance of lucha libre themes and references to anarchistic music works, the likes of Flower, Sun, Rain, Michigan: Report From Hell, Contact, Killer 7 and, of course, No More Heroes have all received a great deal of attention at launch, and each successive title will only benefit from this reputation..."
"Rising Star Games have become synonymous with those quintessentially Japanese videogame treats that otherwise may have never made their way to European shores. The sweet, inviting world of the classic Harvest Moon series and pleasing guilt involved in commanding your loyal (or perhaps, not so loyal) followers in Little King’s Story is regularly contrasted with the dark, grimy labyrinths of JU-ON: The Grudge or the under-appreciated Nintendo DS First-Person Shooter, Moon."
Not too much to note this week, though a couple of gems stand out: Suda 51's (No More Heroes, Killer 7) Flower, Sun and Rain on DS, and Let's Tap, an innovative game set from Yuji Naka's (Sonic) Prope studio.
The latter game utilizes a control scheme whereby the Wii controller is placed on a flat surface in order to detect small vibrations; tapping the surface, then, serves as your input.
Hot off of freshly announcing three new games this past week, publisher XSEED Games has formally announced it's lineup for this year's E3 Expo:
The 2009 Electronics Entertainment Expo begins next week on June 2nd.
Every now and then we need a helping hand in a game, so it's always nice knowing that there are characters who will point you in the right direction and send you on your merry way. Unfortunately, there are also the characters who go out of their way to help...and end up becoming annoying nags. Here are Gamesradar's Top 7 Game Characters That Need To Shut The *bleep* Up ...
"We have a pretty good idea of what games are going to be big this year. Guitar Hero? It'll do well. StarCraft 2? Yeah, no problems there. But there are a bunch of games that have a good chance of flying under the radar, and we wanted to call attention to them in a little feature we like to call Dark Horse Games of 2009. No, they don't involve husbandry"

"The world of Flower, Sun and Rain is a very surreal one, as should be expected from productions with Suda51 at the helm. The titles tropical envisioning of humanity lays somewhere between Twin Peaks and Brass Eye - effortlessly witty and incalculably mad and liberally borrows from Groundhog Dog, a fact to which the game isnt ashamed to repeatedly draw attention to. Casting the player in a perspective not normally associated with videogames, working alongside the protagonist who often di..."
In a press release sent out today, Marvelous Entertainment and XSEED Games have announced that they will be co-publishing two more games for North America, as they had revealed in an earlier interview. While one of those games was already confirmed to be Muramasa: The Demon Blade, they have now confirmed the other two games.
Those other two games will be Arc Rise Fantasia for the Wii, and Flower, Sun, and Rain for the DS. Arc Rise Fantasia is a RPG developed by imageepoch, where "contain...
