Frontlines: Fuel of War

"T.S. Eliot once wrote, "This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper." While that may be interesting enough for your freshman Introduction to Poetry class, it hardly works as a video game premise, which would explain why Activision hasn't yet secured the rights to Call of Poetry: Modernism Warfare. On the other hand, video games need intense settings and outrageous set pieces, and there's nothing more intense or outrageous than the end of the world. For this week's top ten, w..."

"NaturalMotion, the animation technology company behind the Euphoria Engine, today announced that publisher THQ Inc. has licensed its Morpheme animation middleware for use on future projects, including an unannounced title by Kaos Studios. The publisher recently announced that it has also licensed NVIDIA PhysX technology, which is tightly integrated with Morpheme’s character animation to produce dramatic results."

"For those of you not yet familiar with the Unsung Heroes series, the rules are as follows; games eligible are those disc-based releases that Electronic Theatre feels have been underrated, undersold, or treated unfairly since launch. And for Xbox360 (along with every other system) we’re keeping it based strictly on titles that have seen UK launch. The positive reception we’ve received to the Unsung Heroes series has been very much appreciated..."

"Thanks to using their own dedicated servers, the Xbox 360 version of Kaos Studios’ upcoming Frontlines: Fuel of War was initially advertised as having 32-player online matches - already a record on Xbox LIVE. Titles such as Warhammer 40k: Soulstorm as well as Frontlines: Fuel of War will be available on their release date, making it easy for Europeans not wanting to drive somewhere to get the titles."

"Specifically the California-based company has confirmed in the report for its fiscal third quarter (ending December 31, 2007) that it has cancelled Frontlines: Fuel of War for the PlayStation 3 and also chosen to drop under-performing intellectual properties (IPs) Stuntman and Juiced. THQ has also dropped its Concrete Games studio."
