Ahead of and, supposedly, in preparation for the Fenix Rising Map Pack which is releasing on January 17th, Epic Games has released a Title Update for Gears of War 3 which is detailed below.
Epic has announced that they will be adding seven new achievements totaling an additional 250 points to the Fenix Rising downloadable content for Gears of War 3.

Starting off first thing in the New Year Microsoft and Epic will be releasing a new map pack that adds new character skins, new rank system and five new maps.
The next batch of downloadable content for Gears of War 3 was announced and detailed today. Called the Fenix Rising Map Pack it adds 5 new maps, 4 character skins, and allows players to "Re-up".

NoobFeed.com reports on two seperate street dates broken in Europe in rapid succession. Both Gears of War 3 and Warhammer 40K: Space Marine were sold prior to release dates by European stores, to great displeasure of their respective publishers.

An online retailer is discounting the standard, limited and epic editions of the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive third-person shooter from Epic Games, Gears of War 3.
In a somewhat bizarre interview with gamer/comedian Jeff Rubin, Cliff Bleszinski revealed that Isiah Mustafa will be in Gears of War 3 multiplayer. Mustafa is famously known as 'the man your man could smell like' and it's completely ridiculous deodorant commercials.
"To create a more user-friendly experience for newcomers, Gears of War 3 will feature a casual multiplayer mode. The mode will be exclusive to people who have never played a Gears of War game before, and your Xbox will be the one snitching on any fox caught trying to get in the chicken coop."
Gears Of War 3 will be making Epic changes to have a better mass appeal with new game modes Casual multiplayer mode and team death match to name just 2 improvements. They are making the button and movement system improved while also making it easier to play with features like aim assist for casual mode.

It was announced today that all Xbox LIVE Gold members who pre-order Gears 3 from GameStop will have access to the multiplayer beta starting on April 25th. Bulletstorm Epic Edition owners just get in one week early.
The Gears of War franchise has been exclusive on the Xbox 360 since the first game launched in 2006, though Epic President Mike Capps said he would like it if the franchise also came out to the Playstation 3.
