Activision has claimed another victim. Bizarre Creations will be closing its doors for good this Friday, February 18th. Over the past 15 years they had made around 20 games, including hits like the Project Gotham series and Geometry Wars
"We here at IGN have several favorite Xbox Live Arcade games. Puzzle Quest, Undertow, Pac-Man Championship Edition, Prince of Persia ClassicÂ… We could go on.
It would appear that the masses do not share our taste in downloadable games, though, as none of these titles made the list of top ten XBLA games for 2007.
Major Nelson has released the list over on his blog. It seems most gamers overwhelmingly favor retro games over original content."
For months after the launch of the Xbox 360, the only good arcade game to play was Geometry wars. With the success of the game on the 360, the developers decided to create one for Nintendo platforms and mobile phones. But with all this there was no official word for a second Geometry wars for the 360. Community man Ben Ward did say that they have not forgotten about the 360. In hopes that they will make one in the future.
One of the most popular Xbox Live Arcade experiences is now on its way to Valve's Steam download portal, despite it supposedly being a Windows Vista exclusive. At the snip price of $2.50 USD, who really cares though, get it while it's hot, we say.
