Sweet news. If I think of Codemasters were in the past, they were exceptional when they focused solely on their racing releases. Hopefully this means a major improvement for the upcoming F1 2012.
"Codemasters' fantastic Race Driver: Grid finds itself as this weeks Steam Midweek Madness deal. Not only is the game available for a fantastic 75% discount, but all Codemasters’ profits from sales will actually go to industry supported charities. It’s a worthy cause that any Steam user should participate in, with the game available at such a low price."
Codemasters has shut down the servers for their racing game GRID. This comes as somewhat of a surprise since GRID is only 3 years old, but with the popularity of other racing titles such as...
"Codemasters, the developer and publisher of acclaimed videogames including Colin McRae: DiRT and Race Driver: GRID, was honoured at the 2009 Develop Industry Excellence Awards winning the coveted Grand Prix Award. The ceremony was held last night in Brighton, UK, as part of the Develop Conference 2009."
"Driving over £3 million worth of top-spec racing cars down gamers' download pipes, Codemasters today announced the launch of the new downloadable 8 Ball premium content pack for Race Driver: GRID, the hit racing game of the summer, for the Xbox360 and PLAYSTATION3. The 8 Ball pack will be available today, Thursday 7th December, from XboxLIVE! Marketplace and from PLAYSTATION Network..."
Earlier today, Codemasters - the developers and publishers of GRID - have announced some DLC for the game.
"8 Ball Pack", the name of the DLC, will see eight new cars rushing at you, all playable online and on the "Race Day" mode. We can also look forward to having two "multiplayer events set on existing circuits from across the games three continents".
Pricing will be revealed when the 8 Ball Pack gets closer to release this Fall.
This will be the third next gen game from Codemasters, whose first two games DiRT and GRiD got pretty positive reviews. Now they have announced their new title, FUEL.
FUEL is an open world free for your enjoyment to roam with home tuned vehicles; compete in races and pull off the biggest stunts.
The game is due for a 2009 release. Click the link to view a developer's introduction video for the game.

The Japanese game of GRID will be localized for the country, with the speech and text in the form of Japanese. GRID will also come with another game, which is Colin McRae: Dirt. The reason Codemasters decided to bundle the two games together is because Colin McRae games do fairly well in Japan. Rod Cousens, Codemasters' CEO, said Japan will be a market that they are going to focus more on.

It's no contest to figure out what the major release this week is: Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden II for the Xbox 360. Say what you will about the love-him-or-hate-him about the studio head Tomobobu Itagaki, there are many out there waiting for this game.
However, that doesn't mean that there aren't any other good or notable games available; for DS owners, the Atlus USA-published Summon Night: Twin Age makes its way to US shores. Those looking for a racer can check out the Codemasters develop...
That VideoGame Blog writer Thom Dinsdale has checked out the GRID launch in London. The launch has begun with racers in an Aston Martin DB9 Volante, Aston Martin DB9 Coupe, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Mercedes-Benz SLK55AMG, Range Rover Sport HST and Bentley Continental GT raced down to the store, picked up their copies and driven back in a true racing spirit.

A lot of us are aware that GameTrailers does a lot of "360 vs PS3" comparisons. I can't think of a single one of these where they have elected the PS3 as the better version. Well, now you may want to question that, especially after the controversy surrounding Gamespot.
In a recent 360 vs PS3 comparison, this time the subject being GRID, the latest upcoming racing game by Codemasters. In the review they compare the PS3 against...wait, here it comes....the PS3! and guess who lost? The PS3, a...
You probably heard about the controversy about Gametrailers using PS3 footage of Grid on the 360 comparison video. It was all over the web. Well Gametrailers responds in an interview with Joystiq. They said it was an honest mistake. The Video editor they hired was just a video editor and not a video game fan and could not tell the difference. Well there you have it, controversy over...or is it?
"Here is yet another comparison for an anticipated upcoming game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Race Driver: GRID. They both look almost exactly the same, but I noticed at the end when they changed from PlayStation 3 to Xbox 360, the buttons at the bottom for the PlayStation 3 stayed. What is GameTrailers up to? Or is it just a mistake?
Update 12:10AM: GameTrailers have taken down the video.
Update 9:24AM: A gamer has gotten it up on YouTube showing the lies of the video"
