The classic strategy RPG from NIS and Vanillaware, originally for the Playstation 2, has now made it's way onto PSN. You can purchase the game for $9.99
"A couple times over the past few years, we've decided to sit down and take a good, cold, hard look at the PlayStation 2's library and select the best of the best to let you know what our favorites were (and are). Even though the system is fighting with every last breath to stay alive, it's still surprising to us that new games continue to creep into our list. So, because it's been a while, we figured it was time to look at our picks again and update our choices for the best 25 PlayStation 2 g..."
""We're releasing Sakura Wars V first because we figured it's the last version that came out and it's obviously the most polished, at least battle system-wise. And it's something that's easier for Sony [to] accept and release a game like [Sakura Wars V], because previously Sony didn't like games that had dating sim aspects. They thought it might not be a suitable game for the PlayStation brand but they're actually happy about Sakura Wars now ever since they saw the actual game. So, if this one..."
"While the likes of Harry Potter, The Transformers, and Shrek have all recently twisted consumer eyes away from videogames without the (undeserved?) public boost granted by a Hollywood license, the likes of GrimGrimoire have indeed gone relatively unnoticed. Rather than wait until the end of the year for our big award blowout, we've created this monthly tribute to the weeks that were. The entire PlayStation Tea..."
RPGamer interviews NIS America's Nao Zook over their current and future game localization projects. Interestingly, Nao did not discount the possibility of seeing NIS' flagship Disgaea series for the DS, in fact he is encouraging DS owners to expect something special in the works. Meanwhile for PS2 fans, there's some implication that the sequel to Ar tonelico, still in development for Japan, could very well see North American release in the future.
Screens of the first ever RTS (real-time strategy) to hit the the Playstation 2 console.
"Right on the heels of the Disgaea PSP announcement comes even more fun from NIS America. NIS has three new titles scheduled for release this summer: GrimGrimoire and Soul Nomad & the World Eaters for the PlayStation 2 along with Dragoneer's Aria for the PlayStation Portable.
GrimGrimoire is an RPG with strong real-time strategy elements. This title follows the story of Lillet Blan, a student at the Tower of Silver Star. The Tower of the Silver Star is a school for only the most gifted pupi..."
