"Player Affinity’s PC staff has logged a good thousand hours in Skyrim between us all, and by the time we’ve scoured the land of Tamriel for every last wedge of cheese we’ll be well into 2012. By that time a whole new slew of must-play games will be on shelves waiting to devour our precious time. Here are the ones that we’re most looking forward to playing."
Mike O'Brien, founder of ArenaNet, has presented news about Guild Wars 2 at G-Star 2011. They were released three videos in which you can observe the creation of characters, the first steps of the game and a boss battle
"We’ve actually sold over 7 million units, and every day we have a whole lot of people logging in and playing that game together. As you can imagine, we have a lot of people who are excited about Guild Wars 2."
"95% of the MMO games we have are fantasy themed. People are not bored of swinging swords, casting spells and crafting items. I am dead tired of seeing fantasy themed MMO games popping one after another, trying to imitate World of Warcraft’s success. There is only one other fantasy themed MMORPG that I loved and it is time to meet with its successor."
"Although it is a sequel, Guild Wars 2 will be quite a new entity in its own right. It looks good, will still be free to play (and genuinely free to play, not just a glorified demo), and will have a lot of meat to it. Good work, NCSoft: We're excited."
"The player base for many MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online) comes in a variety of shapes, sizes, and emotional decay. Whether it be the socially awkward twenty-four year old with dominance issues, or the thirty-two year old ‘girl gamer’ who feels that her chest bumps are deserving of the latest and greatest equipment within the game; If you’ve played any MMO at all you are bound to run into one or the other – hopefully not both, but sadly not exactly all that uncommon of an occurrence."
It seems like the players of Guild Wars will have the opportunity to have an impact on the final product. Check out the full story to read what developer, Arenanet said of the matter. Cheers!
"As part of a two-part reveal today, ArenaNet revealed the next class for Guild Wars 2: the Warrior.
Masters of weaponry, warriors utilize their adrenaline to unleash powerful attacks on their enemies. Adrenaline builds up as the warrior makes attacks, in three stages that become progressively harder to fill. Each stage of adrenaline grants a passive damage bonus, but a warrior can also release their adrenaline with a burst skill, meaning that warriors will have to balance their adrenaline ..."
"A new Guild Wars 2 developer blog has been posted, this time delving into the personal story system.
The GW2 team believes it is difficult, but not impossible, to offer players a personal story in a massively multiplayer game. The system is designed to enhance a player's experience by giving them a personal storyline unique to their character background, and enhancing roleplay as well."
"Developers for Guild Wars 2 are giving another look into a changing system in the upcoming sequel to Guild Wars. Titled Dynamic Events Overview, the entry not only introduces the new Guild Wars 2 system, it also questions the systems we have known."
"There will be a total of eight professions players can choose from across three types: three scholar (light armor), three adventurer (medium armor) and two soldier (heavy armor). Each profession will have its own unique mechanics to make it distinct from its peers. What players will not find from Guild Wars, however, is the ability to take up a secondary profession.
What players will find instead is an interesting cross-profession skill synergy. This means that players on a team will be a..."
"World PvP on paper sounds like some marriage between Mythic’s RvR and World of Warcraft’s Alterac Valley. It is supposed to be three or more servers fighting against one another for some amount of time (a week, two weeks, etc.) then the servers would gain new opposition. Three is the magic number, eh, Syncaine? Anyway the system goes far beyond the capture system found in Warhammer Online by adding RTS elements to the mix similar to what Alterac Valley has. The article says:
"The W..."
