Valve's planning something and if history is anything to go by, it'll be huge and make the entirety of the world happy. It started with a Half-Life 3 shirt, but that was only the start.
NoobFeed.com celebrates Halloween in style. Playing dress up at the local convention can be a little intimidating or even embarassing, so here are some ways to support fan faovirtes without losing face or shedding clothes. It's cold this time a year, so we can't have people running around with no clothes on. Happy Halloween!
Two fans appeared on the Valve Software campus with cardboard signs begging for Half-Life 3. Company co-founder Gabe Newell met with the guys yesterday. He DOES know we want more Half-Life!
GlaDOS husband and TF2 Sniper, John Lowrie, stated that his wife, Ellen McLain, is working on some 'game work' today. Is it more Portal 2 goodness? Is it the highly anticipated Half Life: Episode 3? Who knows. Just glad to see anything pointing at new projects from Valve.
It took 14 years for Duke Nukem Forever to finally see store shelves, and judging by review scores across the board, the reception has been less than stellar. What does this mean for....
COuls Half-Life 2 episode 3 turn out to be anoth Duke Nukem Forever? Will we be waiting god-knows how long to see any tantalizing tit-bits on the game, or better yet, does it really exist, and will it be relevant by the time it does surface, IF it is in fact a reality title.
OXCGN's Nth American editor looks at these points and more in his neat article, see what you think.
"Ok Valve, enough is enough. It’s been almost three and a half grueling years of hearing absolutely nothing at all about this final expansion to a game you released over six years ago. I simply have to be blunt – what the hell is the problem? It’s getting silly now."
"Valve’s Half-Life 2 is six years old this month. On its release, it was widely regarded as not only one of the greatest shooters of all time, but one of the best video games period; a beacon of what a game could be. Half-Life 2 transcended the constraints of its genre, elevating beyond a traditional shooting gallery into, one could say, a work of art. Each element of the game is meticulously designed and incorporated for maximum immersion. But six years is a long time, especially in the video..."
This is, allegedly, a leaked image of a black leather binder which will be distributed at E3 in just a little over a week's time. It shows the Half-Life symbol, the word "Freeman", and the date of June 14th. It also has the slight relief of the G-Man's face. What does this mean? Will this be the announcement of Half-Life 2: Episode 3? Perhaps not - perhaps it will be full-on Half-Life 3, or, Half-Life: Freeman (that would be a great title).
"Video game fans have a lot of hobbies outside of gaming itself. But more often than not it all ends up going full circle and coming back to the wonderful world of gaming. Sometimes family and friends support our gaming habits by making stuff for game fans. Cakes are one of those hobbies and things."
"Cooler. Faster. More immersive. That's how we like our games, and the industry is all to eager to provide. Whether it's a brand new console, a new controller or a new way of paying for new in-game underwear, we're constantly being smashed in the face with the next big thing.
Sometimes it works out (thankyou, online gaming and polygonal graphics), but sometimes, despite the best efforts of developers to shape the future of how we play, the idea falls straight onto its arse and doesn't get b..."

"Valve's Gabe Newell appears to have recently conducted a focus group with deaf individuals in order to learn more about sign language and how it can be applied to games, notably the upcoming Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Why? To help develop Alyx's character, and further the animation technology implemented in the Half-Life games"

Though it is a little old, it is worth viewing by any fan of the series. Amazing recreations of Half-Life 2 character models using LEGOs.
I smell LEGO Half-Life sometime in the future.
