Valve recently announced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Scheduled for early 2012, the title will no longer be exclusive to PCs and will be available for consoles through PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE.

Kazmierczak was allegedly addicted to Counter-strike and opened fire on 70 to 100 students at NIU... Yep, sounds completely like a Microsoft conspiracy, according to political figure Lyndon Rouche. While Kotaku decided to analyze Wacko Jacko's lies about the NIU shooting, GamePolitics decided to take a different approach and ask one simple question to Jack Thompson: The shooter was 27, so why should violent video games have been an issue? Thompson may claim to be only against the selling of M-rated video games to underage consumers, but seriously, what do video games have to do with NIU?

Why oh why have video games become such a media target lately?
New York post have recently reported on the NIU shootings and guess what is to blame for the killings? Counter-Strike! Yes, a game that the killer, Stephen Kazmierczak, played four years ago is being blamed for the killings.
NYPost failed to mention that everyone in the dorm played Counter-Strike, and that most of Kazmierczak's peers considered him to be a "normal" (if not overly polite and helpful) person before the shootings.
"Seeing that Jack went out of his way to email me this morning to point out that he was "right" about the shooting being spurred by Counter-Strike, I thought it was probably worth another round of Dissecting Jack's Lies.
